No they are not seconds and has no blemishes. They were brand new and true Skechers. Not a knock off brand.

Dark Brown = is this the kind of leather that scuffs easily?

I have to tell you. They are very comfortable. I would say that because it's dark brown, I don't see any scuffs on it, certainly not like my lighter brown ones that show everything. I wear them to work. Sometimes I can be on construction sites where the environment is harsh. These shoes work well for me.
