I bought this product for my hair use. I do not have bald spots or thinning areas.I bought the product to see if it actually does grow the hair. I received the product on Jan 15th and I used the product the same day. I wanted to wait until I used the product for at least a month before reviewing it. Well here it is April 16th and I am finally reviewing it. To track growth I also took pictures of my hair before using the product and after. I have tried everything under the sun and can pretty much tell you about any product whether it works or not and how to stop some of the side effects you may experience. Megatek does work!!!! I have read all of the reviews good and bad and have seen where some people went wrong using the product. I am going to tell you how I used it and I am also going to tell you some of the things you can do to prevent or stop problems from using this product. Some of things I have seen people write negative about the product are it leaves their hair sticky,experience shedding, headaches, and it just didnt grow the hair out. First off we have to remember this product is for animals so you would not use it how it would be used on an animal you have to adjust it to your needs. Your hair is sticky because you have to rinse the product out I know the bottle states you can leave it in but you need to rinse the product out and follow up with a moisturizing conditioner. Shedding yes it will cause shedding its a protein product combat shedding with garlic. Whether its garlic pills, powder or Alter Ego garlic conditioner the garlic should stop the shedding. Headaches can come from the product being too potent for you remember it is for animals. To solve this problem dilute the product if you are using it on your scalp. Dilute with what? A carrier oil. i.e. castor, olive,coconut oils. My hair isnt growing. Give the product time hair grows a half an inch a month I saw results 2 weeks after using the product. No my hair didnt magically grow down my back but I experienced new growth quicker look at the small things thicker hair or new growth in week 3 after perm when you normally dont get new growth until week 5. That means its working. I would estimate with proper use in 4 months you will see a tremendous change. How I used the product to achieve maxium results... I followed a regimen which I did every week. Every friday I washed my hair then I applied Megatek for 15 minutes. I applied it to my scalp and hair and massaged my scalp for 2 minutes and then place a plastic cap on for 15 min. Washed out and then followed up with the Alter Ego Garlic Conditioner(to combat shedding) for 20 mins with plastic cap. Then rinsed that out and did a moisturizing deep condition for 45 mins- 1hr with plastic cap. Final rinse with cold water then blot hair dry and I added a moisturizing leave in conditioner and I applied my oil mixture to my scalp. My oil mixture is in a color applicator bottle in it is jamaician black castor oil, 10 drops of peppermint oil, 10 drops of rosemary oil and megatek. I only apply this to my scalp. Also to retain length everyday I apply moisturizer to my ends and seal with oil. This is called moisturizing and sealing. My choice of moisturizers are Wave Noveau, Olive Oil Mositurzing lotion and Silken Child. My choice of oil are castor coconut and olive. Basically retaining length would be seeing your hair get longer. You know your hair is growing because if it wasnt, there wouldnt be a need to relax new growth. But when you finish washing out the relaxer and comb your hair out all happy cause them edges laying your hair is the same length. :-/ you didnt retain length your scalp produces natural oils so of course that part will grow but your ends are the oldest part of your hair they need moisture without it they will break and thats why when you comb your hair you have broken pieces on your shirt. Moisturize and seal your ends daily and in 4 months I feel you will see a change. I tried to answer everything I would want to know if looking at this product if you have any questions or comments feel free to ask or state and I will try my best to help all. I did receive my product within the timeframe given it is a huge bottle(160z) should last a good 5 to 7 months and it smells like coconut.

I read reviews about this product for weeks before I finally decided to buy it. I wish I didn't hesitate. This product is amazing and I saw results almost immediately. I can't explain how it worked so fast but it did. I was apprehensive about purchasing Mega-Tek because I didn't know exactly how I should use it. I have natural, curly, shoulder length 3B/C hair that I am desperately trying to grow out. The first time I used it I washed my hair with baking soda and vinegar and then DC'ed with the Mega-Tek. I didn't see any real results (what was I expecting?) so I just put in some oils and left it alone. The next day my hair was super dry so I DC'ed with Olive Oil Replenishing Pak conditioner. My hair was super smooth and alive and happy. I then read about people washing with Mega-Tek only once a week but applying it daily to their scalp mixed with Jamaican Black Castor Oil and some other stuff. I bought an applicator bottle and mixed the Mega-Tek with a little bit of distilled water and Jamaican Black Castor Oil and have been using it on my scalp and only after about a couple weeks my curls hang longer, undoubtedly. It is astonishing as well as confidence building and I can't wait to see what 3 months of use will do. Also, I've discontinued shampooing my curls which has made a dramatic, unbelievable difference in the quality and health of my hair. Regimen: Condition hair with Shea Moisture African Black Soap Balancing Conditioner (Every time I wash which is every 1-3 days) Deep Condition hair with Mega-Tek for 15 minutes under the dryer (Every 5 days) Deep Condition hair with Olive Oil Replenishing Pak (Every 3 days) Apply Mega-Tek mix with Jamaican Black Castor Oil and Distilled Water to my entire scalp using an applicator bottle, then massage in (Every night) Miss Jessie's Curly Pudding when styling (small amounts, not all the time) Organic Coconut Oil when styling (small amounts, not all the time) Olive Oil when styling (small amounts, not all the time) Satin pillow cases Satin scarf Hairfinity Vitamins Odorless Garlic Supplement (4000mg every morning) Vitamin B12 (1000mg every morning) 2-3 liters of water a day NO SHAMPOO whatsoever. I have never, ever been able to wash and go my 3B/C hair until adopting this regimen. I am so happy, I will continue to use Mega-Tek in conjunction with my new found way of life! It has made my hair stronger and much more manageable. It smells amazing and I will buy it again!

I wanted to use this for a while before I posted a review, I went through more reviews than I can count about it before I decided to buy. The first week I used it though I noticed my hair was silkier. Now it is some trial and error when you are figuring out how to use this. The first two weeks I was using just a tiny bit only on my scalp (massage thoroughly) I noticed I started to shed hair a lot more often. (SCARY!!!) So I started to tweak it because I have heard that this happens because how concentrated it is. Keep in mind this WAS MADE FOR HORSES!! If you don't want to tweak it yourself buy Ovation Cell Therapy, they are cousins of each other. Literally, the same company makes them both only the Ovation Cell Therapy was made for humans. I went with Megatek because it's cheaper. Now before I dive in on how I used it I should say that I am a white female, dirty blonde hair, about medium strand thickness and thick, wavy, hair. My goal is for my hair to be down to the middle of my back (I am 5'10, so this is about two feet of hair on me) and I want it healthy. The smell of this is akin to a fruity pinacolada, which isn't my favorite but it blends really well with my shampoo and conditioner. Now this is how I used it effectively. First I split the bottle in half and filled the rest with water, the rest of the conditioner I put in another bottle and again filled half and half with water then shake till my arms fall off. Instead of massaging directly into my scalp I actually just mix a little (dime size) in with my normal conditioner (Nexus) every other use (about one-two times a week) and apply all the way through my hair THOROUGHLY. It's really important to spend that time massaging it into your scalp, you WILL have uneven growth if you don't do this. I leave it in for about 15 minutes as I finish showering. Now as I was using this I also cut out EVERY form of heating my hair. Yea, that's right so no blow drying, no flat irons, no curling irons, and also no coloring my hair. So this did factor into my results a ton. I have been using it for four months and I still have half a bottle left (this was after I was using it fully concentrated). Using it this way I plan getting about 6 months out of ONE bottle. Results are simply amazing, I cut four inches off my hair when I started out just to get rid of all the nasty breakage I had from using a flat iron directly after blow drying it every other day. I haven't cut my hair in four months because I didn't need to. I finally cut my hair after seeing the beginning of dry ends and my stylist was stunned how fast it grew, it's almost the same length now as it was four months ago. About FOUR inches in four months. In that four months I have curled my hair twice with a curling iron and blow dried it three times. My hair is so much smoother, silkier, and HEALTHIER. I am finally getting the length with the healthy hair. I still have a long way to go, length wise I have another 5-6 inches to get it where I want, and then I have another 8 inches on top of that from coloring that needs to grow out. Shedding is now down to normal, I keep my hair in a scrunchy (loose pony tails) all day since I obviously can't do much with styling and I find about five-seven strands a day on my pillow, scrunchy, and randomly stuck to my clothes. I noticed my natural curl is back in my hair after being beaten down with a flat iron, and I don't have so much frizz in my hair. I don't take any vitamins or supplements along with it, though I have heard garlic supplements will cut down on the shedding. Tips for growing: Most hair dressers will tell you that you need to cut your hair every 5-6 weeks when growing it out. I did this for three years and I added about 3 inches in length. Three inches in three years was not getting me anywhere. So though the every 5-6 week rule is true for some people, most people don't need to cut it that often if you are taking care of it. The best advise I ever got was to think about your hair as fine lace and treat it as such. I finally found a stylist/salon that specializes in long hair (rare but they are out there), I trust her completely and take her words to heart because she herself has gorgeous healthy hair down to her butt. She's the first stylist I have ever been to that told me this: Don't cut it so often, you don't get length this way, let your hair grow as much as you can until you see the ends drying out THEN you should make an appointment. She isn't trying to make money off of me, she has enough clientele that she doesn't need to see me every 5-6 weeks.

Works for me I think... So I've always had a problem with growing my hair. I used to blow dry and straighten it every day and also bleach it. On top of my hair being thin and frail to begin with..not a good combo I know. I finally decided my hair had had enough and I wanted to grow it out healthy and more my naturally light brown color. I do have a problem with my hair growth however. I did a test and didn't highlight my hair for 6 months and my hair only grew an inch and a half. Most peoples' hair grows at 1/2 inch per month. My hair grows at about half that speed. Also keep in mind I eat right and also take those darn vitamins that help with hair growth. I've alternated brands about every year too with no success. Now I only wash my hair two times a week and haven't colored it in 5 months. I only get it colored 2-3 times a year now(natural grown ombre). I also started using this product on my scalp at around the same time, about 6 months ago. After shampooing my hair, I apply this to the scalp and massage it in. I still use my regular conditioner from the middle of the hair to the end. This isn't a great moisturizer so I don't use it on my ends. I have to use a a deeper conditioner for my ends. Leave it in 2-3 minutes and wash it out. I use this every time I wash my hair (2 times a week usually) and usually will style it on those days with a heating tool. I have noticed my hair has grown a lot longer. Mainly in the back and underneath where it's my natural color that doesn't get re-colored at all, ever. I also don't heat style the underneath as much as the top. But I'm not sure if I can contribute it to my drastic changes in my hair regime or this product. Therefore, I contribute it to both. This product is a protein treatment, so it is good for your hair. I put it only on my scalp where the new hair is growing in. I have noticed my hair is a little stronger and shiner. But then again I think I should contribute it to all the the factors that I mentioned above. My friends and coworkers have told me my hair looks longer also. I haven't cut it in a while though. It's due for a trim on the ends. If you have a hair growth problem like me, this product definitely won't hurt. It is kind of pricey but my bottle is still 1/4 full after 6 months because I don't wash my hair often. Therefore, this investment was worth while to me. Whether this product is worth the investment to you is your call. I say go for it.

Ok, like just about everyone else who has commented on this product I have to say it WORKS! I started using this product mixed with Tropic Isle Living Jamaican Black Castor Oil and Tropic Isle Strong Roots Red Pimento Hair Growth Oil on August 15th. I too wanted to wait to review to see if it actually worked. I am an African-American woman who started wearing my hair natural last November after years of weave. My hair was dull and short because I had to clip a lot because of all the damage I had done. My edges were almost bald from the relaxer and micro braids and I was just frustrated. I googled all the latest hair products to see what people recommended and this one kept popping up so I said "what the heck." Now...everywhere I go people compliment me on how full and shiny my hair looks. It looks so healthy and it is very soft. Now I cannot say for sure it does not have to do with mixing the other products so I say if you are considering getting this...get the oils as well. I have never had headaches. I mix all the products together ...I apologize I did not measure but just based off of the other reviews I went with about ½ Mega Tek, ¼ of each of the oils...maybe a little more on the oils. It has a runny kind of consistency. It is growing so great. My husband thinks I have gone to the shop sometimes after I have done my own hair. This product is worth every penny. My hair regimen consists of the following; I rub this mixture on my dry hair and let it sit under a plastic cap for 15-45 minutes. The more time the merrier. I then wash my hair with my normal shampoo and conditioner. I blow dry and flat iron. Although my hair is natural I still wear it straight and it works perfect. I wash my hair once a week and I am not sure if you need to use this product more than once a week (maybe that is why others experienced the headaches?) My hair is not shedding anymore than it was before. I cannot wait to see what the next 30 days has to hold. I personally was not using it for the longer hair part...I just wanted the fuller/healthier part but it is growing great and fast!! So if you are as frustrated as I was...you have found your answer. Mega-Tek + oils = Growth!

I read a lot of reviews about this product causing breakage. I have only used it with an additional conditioner. I am a licensed cosmetologist/hairstylist. I lost my hair last summer due to breast cancer. The reviews for Ovation are great. But its very expensive and I was unable to afford it because of my medical bills. I started doing research about how Ovation is the sister company of Eqyss. I thought I would give it a try. The Mega Tek is like the Ovation Cell Therapy. The shampoo and conditioner that come with the ovation set, are nothing special its just something more to charge you for. The Mega Tek works miracles! I use it every other day. I leave it on for at least an hour. I have even left it on for eight hours while I slept. I use my regular blonde Redken shampoo and conditioner and when I leave the Mega Tek on, I use a deep conditioner by Joico that I mix with it. I massage the scalp for about 5 minutes and put a shower cap over it. This product smells amazing. I started using it a month ago. As a hair stylist your hair should grow about a 1/4-1/2 inch every month. My hair is growing almost a half inch every week! Its amazing my hair is finally growing out from cancer. I will probably continue to use this product until my hair is back to my waist. I know a lot of people want to know if its only for ethnic hair. I am a Caucasian female that is 26, and I live in Colorado which is a dry climate. Its amazing stuff. I recommend EVERYONE to buy this product and use it! It grew my hair not only faster, but thicker, and I have a ton of new growth coming in. Its seriously a miracle. I never thought I would have my hair back so fast after such a tragedy at my young age.

Okay so first of all I was expecting to get the Mega-Tek bottle that had the blue lettering, but the one I got had flowers all over it? and it did not say on the side of the tube whether or not it was safe for human use. So needless to say I was a little hesitant to try it at first. But when I opened up the bottle I noticed it smelled WONDERFUL like a tropical coconut island, I loved it so I decided to give it a try. I mixed it with Jamaican Black Castor Oil (which is the bomb) and used it as a conditioning treatment I left it in my hair for about 20 min (although the bottle says to rinse after 5 min, but I am an African American woman I need more time than that...lol). But immediately after I rinsed it my hair seemed softer (but then again I'm not sure if that was the castor oil??) Another thing I noticed was that my hair seemed fuller and thicker after I blow dried it. But I will warn you it seemed like my hair was shedding more than usual. Even when I was in the shower and I ran my hand through my hair, it was hair all over the place! So I'm not sure if reading other people's reviews about shedding have got me paranoid, but I doubt my hair shed this way before, and after the first use!! Anyways as far as hair growth I will update in 30 days. All in all I think this product is good it smells good and make my hair feel great. Only downside is the SHEDDING!

I will receive my product tomorrow! I had heard nothing but good things, so I ordered it! Now I'm reading that the one I ordered, may be a newer, not as good version! I plan on trying it anyways! I've spent $13 on a lot more worthless junk! Some of the reviews, after the change, have been positive, but I am feverishly trying to find some place that sells the original recipe! If it's not broke, why fix it! smh! I will update my progress with the new one, in a couple of weeks! Update!!! I have changed the stars on this product, since my last review! This product is AMAZING!!! I have been using the Mega Tek for a month now and I mix it with 3oz of Jamaican Black Caster Oil! My hair is growing like crazy and my bald spot on the top of my head and at my temples are all growing in!! I can't say enough about the product! I was so worried, after reading that the manufacturer changed the ingredients! Well, if they did, these ingredients really work, flowers on the bottle or not! My hair looks and feels sooooooo much healthier than 30 days ago, and I've been getting many compliments on how pretty my hair is! Mix 3oz of the Mega Tek with 3oz of the oil. Wash and condition your hair before applying to your scalp and the areas that concern you the most! I part my hair every half inch and I do my entire head! Put a plastic cap over your head for an hour or two! It works like a deep conditioner. If you are natural, let your hair air dry after you remove the cap or style your hair the way you like! I usually do a twist out on my hair after I remove the cap! My hair is super soft and still damp! My twist outs are gorgeous!! Love, love, love it! Don't hesitant to purchase this product, if your looking for something that really works!!

Bought this originally for a pony with sweet itch, and his mane grew back quickly with just a couple of uses a week. It also made my nails grow faster and stronger, so after reading a number of reviews, I bought myself a bottle to help my own hair grow. My hair grows REALLY slowly, but when I use this weekly, the amount falling out reduces significantly and the thickness and condition of my hair improves, and over the year I've been using it, my hair has grown faster than it does on its own. I have tried a ridiculous number of treatments and I can honestly say this is one of the best (and cheapest) I've tried.

I absolutely love this product! it make my hair so strong and it seems to be longer ... I mix it with jbco and I get very good results ... For those who are afraid to try the product because it's for horses I'll say "dare to try it!" because you may be missing out on a very good hair product.

What a great product! My Fell's mane has completely recovered since using it. It's gone from being dry, thin and easily breaking back to thick, shiny and long again.

It grew my hair like crazy two years ago. Due to illness I lost a lot of hair. I am hoping it does the Magic again. Plus it's a lovely pina colds scent on both me and my pets.
