The Sweetwater Discovery cedar wooden playhouse we purchased  was intended for two girls, 5 years old and 3 years old. There is adequate room for both to play inside even with the small shelf to mount the sink and stovetop; the playhouse has some really cute details that make it more fun - a working doorbell, sink, stovetop (with utensils), phone, windowsills, a nice plastic manufacturer's tag to attach to the playhouse; we chose to put the girl's names on the rear of the tag with stickers and mounted it on the base of the 'fan' between the top of the 'ceiling' and the roof (with three radiating pieces of wood) and two flower pot holders!. 
The wood finish is very good and fits perfectly IF you PAY ATTENTION to the included drawings in each step of the included assembly manual, in particular where the pre-drilled holes are in each panel. Also, each piece is clearly labelled with the corresponding assembly number. 
The necessary tools are included except for a hammer and a drill or electric screwdriver for the Torkz driver tools (¼" drive). 
During assembly the girls' mother and my wife got inside together to line up the shelf nice and level, and somehow the 3 year old still managed to get herself in there, too!
It took our collective 'crew' to finish construction in about 4 hours, and we all enjoyed the project, especially the kids who was able to participate right from the start of their new playhouse. A proud moment for sure. The 5 year old actually stated to my wife "This is the best day ever!".
The structure, on its own, is very rigid and suitable for a nice level yard; we obtained a large wooden cargo pallet, placed a weather-proof plastic sheet on top and placed the playhouse with the rear in the center of one side close to the edge, allowing a little porch-like effect on three sides to make the playhouse appear really 'finished'.
So, three to four kids can get inside, but would not be able to get too active. The picture on the advertisement is very accurate in proportion to the kids shown for comparison.
Overall, VERY happy with this playhouse and the kids are absolutely delighted; MANY pictures have been taken of them during assembly and playing in it afterward, creating LOTS of memories!!!
