No. The ESP-TM2 is NOT ans expandable controller. It comes in 4, 6, 8 and 12 station versions.

How does this work and can i use this on my rainbird sst600in?

This module appears to be compatible with the especially model series. Open up your controller to view what type of modules are inside. If u have your owners manual, check the specs to verify you can add a zone module or go online and see if it can be done with the controller you have.
