He lived off the money his mother used to send him from her yearly pension. His mother and sister held high hopes from him that he would change the circumstances they were living in. Raskolnikov pawns of his last belongings to a old pawn lady who was a unscrupulous soul and cynical woman. Raskolnikov develops a thought that he would kill her and loot her and with whatever he would gain would continue his education and what's the point of such a lady when after her death many would benefit from it.Raskolnikov carries the murder but his thoughts don't go with him as he planned. What follows is Raskolnikov's paranoia, his dreams, him becoming a wretched soul. There are no spoilers in this book everybody knows everything and you can read it from anywhere and you wouldn't spoil anything but the main thing about the story that forms it is the understanding of the human psyche his inner turmoil how he is about to loose his secret at one point to regaining his sanity the next line.✨Fyodor just wants to get on with the crime it's just done, what he wants to show is the punishment there are many reasons given to why Raskolnikov really commits the crime,it's his existential dread, it's his thinking how he is superior to everyone due to his intellect and more.✨This book entirely isn't just about Raskolnikov it's about the set of characters that revolve around him and how him or they all are related to him.✨Another thing is how poverty was looked upon at that time what Fyodor wrote at that time given the circumstances at that time period they are very well relevant till date.This will be my one of the favorite classic of all time.

Captivating novel. I felt, I am so into the life of novel's protagonist psychologically. I get to know as I was reading the novel I misjudged Rodya, the protagonist, at several instances. You will find it a good read too. I am more impressed by the investigation officer Porfiery, who has influencing personality calm, composed, playing mind games with the person in question. Go ahead read it.
