Red Line’s high-performance oil relies on a Group V Polyol Ester base stock blended with Group IV PAO synthetics. Polyol esters feature a natural electrochemical polarity—their negatively charged polar molecules are electrostatically drawn to positively charged metal surfaces, maintaining a persistent oil film that prevents dry-start wear. This formulation delivers exceptional high-temperature, high-shear (HTHS) resistance because it requires virtually no shear-prone viscosity index improvers, preventing the oil from breaking down under heavy mechanical stress. Additionally, ester base stocks act as a natural seal conditioner, softening and slightly swelling hardened elastomers like valve cover gaskets and main seals to help stop or prevent oil leaks. Combined with extreme thermal stability and high solvency, this base stock resists high-heat breakdown while keeping internal engine surfaces clean of deposits and varnish.

Best Oil Hands down!
As a mechanical engineer, i do have a tendency to research and get the best. Oil is the blood of an engine and should not be something you cheap on. Using this on a 2021 Civic Type R making 430+hp This oil is a true Ester5 based oil, and has the highest evaporative resistance of any oil out there. My catch can barely has 2-3 drops in the 12k+ miles i have put on since changing to this oil. By comparison, other people i know using other brands, have to empty their catch cans every few thousand miles. I religiously change the oil at 5k intervals or 6 months, whichever comes first.I pair this oil with a WIX filter. So far, i love the performance of this oil, and will not use anything else. Must have for those demanding the best oil.

The best oil for the 3.7L VQVHR engines! I've tried all the Top Tier stuff: AMSOIL Signature, PUP, and LM Nolygen! No it doesn't stay light amber during the first couple of days of usage. But it DOES seem thicker than any other 5w30s! Red Line is only one that makes this engine run like a sewing machine! Even the idle is smoother! The VQVHR needs it's esters!
