Q: how easy is the buckle release for a person with weak hands?

I think it's pretty easy. I'm 59 and get cramps in my hands sometimes. I use my thumb and pointer finger squeeze the clip together and it releases. I'm very happy with this purchase for my mom's safety.

Q: I'm looking for a strap to connect to this product which will extend the length. Any suggestions?

It is a pretty good length already but if you need to extend it you can go to a fabric store and pick up the same kind of material as the strap (2” strap material is available at my fabric store) and either sew it on yourself or have someone with a machine sew it on for you. The buckles will move from one strap to the next easy enough.
