UPDATE!! (3/15/22)
These nasal filters are great! As someone who suffers from allergies, I keep these in my purse ready for cleaning, yard work, or any project that puts me into contact with an allergen.. They are easy to put on, discreet and convenient to carry around! They also stay in place perfectly until I remove them. I suggest ordering large only though because I accidentally ordered size small one time and they seemed to restrict my airflow.. but I've never had that problem with the larger size. I think the smaller ones are just for kids. They claim that these help 'alleviate respiratory suffering by comfortably filtering inhaled air and removing airborne germs, allergens and/or noxious particles'- knowing that makes me feel better to use these when viruses are going around and during flu season.. A wonderful article I read (g16, No.6) gave some great precautions to take to prevent spread of diseases. It mentioned these suggestions below... 'Do not share personal items, such as razors, toothbrushes, or towels..... And do not underestimate the benefits of washing your hands thoroughly and frequently. It is perhaps the most effective way you can stop the spread of infection. If possible, stay home when you are sick... cough or sneeze into a tissue or your sleeve, but not into your hands. An ancient proverb states: “The shrewd one sees the danger and conceals himself.” (Proverbs 22:3) How true are those words today in a world plagued with potentially dangerous diseases! So inform yourself by consulting local health services, and conceal yourself from danger by practicing good hygiene. Bolster your defenses, and reduce the risk of disease!' Such great suggestions!!! UPDATE:(6/10/21) I still like using these nasal filters although I do wish they were a little cheaper🙂 Also, I've noticed with the last ones I've received that it itches alot around where the nasal strips stick to my nostrils.. I'm not sure if it's the glue causing the itching or what. But maybe my skin is just real sensitive to the glue being used.. 😏 they might not affect your skin though so worth trying it out👍🙂 UPDATE (3/15/22) I DEFINITELY RECOMMEND BUYING A LARGER SIZE THAN YOUR NOSTRILS BECAUSE WHEN I ORDERED THE SMALLER SIZE NASAL SCREENS THEY DO RESTRICT SOME OF MY AIR FLOW.. BUT ANYTIME I USE THE SIZE 'LARGE' I SEEM TO HAVE GREAT AIRFLOW. Hope this helps you😊👍

First Offense
I was highly skeptical about this product but I thought I'd give it a chance. My allergies are so bad that I'll try just about anything. I should have trusted my instincts. First Defense is supposed to help alleviate the itchy nose one gets from pollen. Ironically, these bandaid-like patches actually make your nose itch. In other words, the cure is as bad as the illness. I attached these goofy little suckers to my nostrils and hoped for the best. For the first hour the only effect I noticed was a bit more difficulty in inhaling through my nose. Into the second hour my nose started to itch, not from allergens but the nasal screens themselves. Imagine having a sticky piece of plastic attached to your nose. After awhile the plastic expands or contracts and your nose flesh is pulled this way and that. It's not dramatic, but enough to be really irritating. It started to drive me nuts so I removed the nasal screens and felt immediate relief. So if you want a distraction from your allergies, buy these. They'll take your mind off the pollen and focus it on the itchy plastic stuff on your nose.

Work great for allergies
These adhesive nasal filters eliminate my allergy sysmtoms while I'm wearing them. The filter is an oval shaped, paper thin, gauze-like screen with a band-aid type adhesive ring around the outside. The adhesive ring is applied to the outside of each nostril and forms an airtight seal that stays in place while active. They are kind of tricky to get on just right and you want to try to get them on correctly with your first try. Otherwise, if you need to re-position them, they loose some of the stickiness and don't stay on as well. I tried to reuse them once and they just loose too much adhesion to use effectively a second time. In my opinion, they are way too expensive for what they appear to be, basically a small, breathable, circular band-aid. However, they work extremely well for their intended use, so I compromised. I only use these filters when I will be outside for a long period of time or in very high pollen/dusty areas. All other times I use the WoodyKnows Ultra Breathable removable nasal filter that fits just inside your nostrils. Here is my comparison of the two types of nasal filters: - These adhesive screens take a mirror to get on, every time. The removable filters are easy (with a few days practice/experimentation) to pop in and out and come with a small, plastic container. - I use the removable filters whenever I'm going outside for a smaller amount of time (ride a bike, water the garden, play with the kids) because they only take me 10 seconds to put in and position. These adhesive screens take several minutes and a mirror to do right. However, if I am going to be outside for over an hour, cutting/trimming the grass or in a high pollen/allergen area, I'll use the adhesive screens because they filter 100% and stay in place, as long as they are on. The removable filters, in my experience, filter about 70%, on average, since they move around and need to be adjusted back into place sometimes, so unfiltered air gets through in small amounts. - These adhesive filters stay in place and are always sealed to the outside of your nose, so there are never any gaps or question about whether they are letting in any unfiltered air. It is hard to tell if you have the removable filters in place correctly to filter all of the air coming into your nose. There are times when it feels right and I look in the mirror an there is a gap on one of the sides. - I also use the removable filters when I'm going out in public, since they are not as noticeable as these adhesive filters, which are very obvious and look really weird. - The price of the removable filters, compared to these adhesive filters, is MUCH cheaper per use. So I try to use these adhesive filters sparingly, when I need the "heavy duty" protection and the removables in most other situations. - These adhesive filters are only a single use, though I tried to reuse them once. The adhesive looses it's grip after being worn once and does not seal well the second time. I figure you get about a month's use with the removable filters (by taking care of them and washing them per the instructions). - Both filters feel strange to have on, even after getting used to them. They are not uncomfortable, but you know that they are there. - The removable filters that I use let more air through, so breathing is completely normal. These adhesive screens let in less air, which is probably a combination of finer screen and an airtight seal. However with both types of filters, I never felt the need to breath through my mouth due to lack of airflow through the filters, even while running or biking. I am very pleased with the filters themselves. The sizing instructions worked for me and they fit nicely. They are not the complete solution to my allergies but are one of the pieces that keep me feeling good from April to October. I've also used them while woodworking and they are much nicer to use than a mask for dust. I will probably keep buying them, even though I feel the pricing is high. Hopefully some good alternative will appear and help drive the price down to something more in line with what you are actually getting, specialized band-aids.

Great product, Too expensive though
Bad part: They're too expensive, go through them too fast because there are only seven in a pack, and it's ten dollars a pack. If you're using them on any regular basis, it's going to add up fast. For how small and simple they seem, you should get many more for the price. I use two pairs on the days when I clean. So they only last about three days. That's not long enough in my opinion. I still gave five stars though because the product does work wonderfully for me. I have problems with dust. Any time I go to clean the house, I can't stop sneezing and the nose runs constantly. Makes cleaning miserable. I have to wear these when I'm dusting and cleaning the house. They really work for me. I bought them because of how well they work, but I'm not happy with the price. I would like to have a lot more stored up, but they're just not affordable for regular basis wear. They do look strange, but since I only use them around the house, it's okay. First Defense, you need to put at least triple amount in the package, or lower the prices, and sell them in the stores. At least thank you for making something that works though, and that I don't have to insert into my nose! I read a lot of reviews about how difficult they are to put on. I had no issues putting them on. Just stand in front of a mirror and it's easy.

NOSTRILS ARE BLACK, NOT TAN COLOR-READ MY REVIEW FIRST DEFENSE MAKERS!!
I bought these filters mostly for work because I deal with people who smoke, but still carry that smoke on their bodies and I can smell them a mile away. I saw these filters on Shark Tank and thought ok, not bad, but it occurred to me that our nostrils are black..not tan color?? These filters are claimed to be unnoticeable from a far distance, but up close, you will look weird. I think I rather wear a face mask instead. I think these filters would have been great if the maker made the filter black color with tan edging to blend in with the nose, now that would be not noticeable too much. Make the filter look like our nose hairs or something, not neccesarily sticking out of our noses. Also maybe make these filters like a dome shape where you can stick the elevated part into your nose. But they should be black regardless. Just look in the mirror right now and see what your nostrils look like....black right?? I am not going to be wearing these filters for work. I tried them out here at home and noticed that they actually lose their filtering power after a few hours of use. When you first use them you have trouble breathing, but I mean you get use to it or at least I think you do otherwise maybe its the fact that the filter material is losing its power. After a few hours it felt like I wasn't wearing them at all then I tried sniffing some clorox and could smell it...when I first put the filters on I couldn't smell the clorox bleach. The filters look very thin too. I want the makers of these to really consider making these black with tan trim and maybe a bit more thicker too. The tape is fine..it stuck on very well. I saw some other filters for the nose that actually go inside your nose and it has a little plastic thing that wraps under your nose and it doesn't look noticeable much, but the filter they use is like mesh stainless steel or something...doesn't look like they would work for smoke. Good try First defense, but your color is way off!!! Make these in black with tan trimming and I think we have a winner. And maybe make tape tan too not just clear. Hurry up please! I am dying of second hand smoke here.

Used following surgical procedure
I recently had major ear surgery and have been trying very hard not to sneeze. I did some research; and of course do know that sneezing happens when our nose itches. By blocking dust particles, dander, etc. I thought perhaps this product would keep my sneezes away. So far, I am very pleased with this product. It is very light-weight and you barely know you are even wearing it. I also have asthma but it has no affect on my breathing. I cannot say w/100% certainty that it is working on dander, as I am staying far away from my son's cat as possible (in his home recovering). In fact, I stay in the one room the cat never goes - my sleeping room. Still, for somebody w/really bad allergies, who sneezes when neighbors mow the yard (which they have since wearing the filters), I can tell you that I have not sneezed since putting these on 3 days ago. I find that I do change them daily, after washing my face of course. Plan to use one set a day, otherwise they do stay in-place, even through my sleep. Great product, well worth the price if it keeps my re-constructed eardrum in-tact! Thank you.

Flawed Design - Amazing idea
It’s an amazing idea, but it’s feels like it’s still in the prototype phase, like this is a blueprint of what could come. I appreciate the idea a ton, I struggle with breathing/nasal issues and these products could help a lot, but this specific product isn’t there yet. The thickness of the filter is alright, but they fall off so easily, sometimes even while you’re putting them on and they’re not re-usable because they don’t re-stick. So if you can improve functionality to stay on better and ideally to be reusable for a couple uses, it would be a great product.

Grem-free flying
The first thing I noticed when I put them on is it's a bit claustrophobic, due to the fact that the air you are taking in is somewhat constricted by the filter. I want to use these things when I fly. I know 'they' say the air on a plane is clean but it seems every time I fly, especially in the Winter, I get sick. I don't usually ever get colds other wise. So I did a dry run and wore these nasal screens around my house for a few hours and they are not bad. Within a few minutes I got used to them and almost forgot they were on. I have worn a mask while flying especially during a bad flu season but always felt a bit conspicuous. Even though wearing these screens does give your face an odd look, they are a lot less obvious than wearing a mask and the best thing is you can eat with them on. I would never eat on a plane if I wore a mask because once you take it off to eat, then the whole effect of being protected is lost. I LOVE the nasal filters and hope they prevent me from getting germs on a plane. I'm going to order another package of them.
