I’m not sure if there is a protection for kids but it does have volume buttons on the side of the ear phone and my child love them the light are exciting too for them.

They had a protection plan you could have bought at time of purchase for 2.99 for 3 yrs

How do I turn the solid blue light off?

It doesn't turn off but they don't last long anyway we are searching for a new type as first pair fell apart in 26days and then after being told they were not returnable I purchased a second set only to have the charge port stop working
