I am happy with my purchase
This guitar is appropriate for begginers like myself.I had learnt guitar when I was in 5th grade, Now almost after 15 years I am getting back on with it.This finish of the product is amazing, and I would say the same about the acoustics. Its not very big( it looks like a full size guitar in the picture). The accesories provided were not of a very high standard( thats what i felt) ..especially the gig bag, looks bad.Leaving aside these minor things...I am pretty happy with the purchase, its a 40" guitar and therefore can be carried around with ease...sam

Great Guitar for the price!
We purchased this for our 8 year old son to start on. It is a little big for him but he can handle it fine. It sounds good, looks great and is a great value especially for a beginner who doesn't want to invest too much money into a guitar yet.

Terrible
I teach a guitar class and inherited four of these guitars. All four of them have the neck separating at the heel and the bridges pulling away from the body of the guitar. Badly. The guitars are two years old. All of the pick guards are peeling up as well.Do NOT. Don't even think about it. There are better quality guitars here.BTW, don't think about Washburn's brand credibility - these are not built by Washburn but built by a Chinese company for Washburn to fill the beginner market.Do NOT.

Good Guitar for Price...
I was given this guitar 5 years ago. It was my first guitar, and honestly, I couldn't ask for anything better - as a beginner guitar... As the years went on, I eventually saved and bought a Martin...A few things on this guitar... Yes, as the one guy said earlier, the Bridge Plate has pulled away from the body of the guitar. The neck has bowed slightly from the tension of Medium strings. Other than those two things, the guitar is in good shape. I have played this guitar just about every day for 5 years. I have adjusted the neck, by turning the truss-rod - which lowered the action near the headstock of the neck and took a lot of the bow out of the neck. I took the bridge out and sanded it down slightly, to lower the action near the bottom of the neck. Doing those two things made the playability much better and faster. I have not bothered to fix the Bridge Plate. So, all in all, would I recommend this guitar to a beginner? Most definitely... This guitar has treated me well, at the same time I beat the hell out of this thing. I still play it all the time, while I enjoy playing a Martin much more - this guitar has a bright tone and projects sound very well. Buy a decent set of strings and your on your way. Good deal for the price....

I love mine.
I was gifted this one a few years ago and since bought 2 Yamahas and Cordoba, and I have to say I love it now even more.

I found this guitar for my son - liked it and then purchased one for myself
I have been playing guitar off and on for almost 30 years, and about 8 years ago, I was down to one electric and wanted an acoustic. I found this guitar for my son - liked it and then purchased one for myself. Since then, I have changed out the tuners for Grover Rotomatics and installed my own undersaddle pickup system. I have went to brass bridgepins, and a more decorative pickguard. The guitar continues to stay together well, as well as play on and on. Its got a great feel to the neck and has excellent sound acoustically or amplified. Yes, I did quite a bit of customization to the guitar - the point is the "Base Unit" is bopping along nicely. I believe that "out of the box" this is an excellent beginner or "retread" guitar player's guitar. If same beginner or retread knows someone who does "modifications" such as I did - it can grow with them.

Great Value for a Beginner
I bought this guitar about 6 years ago at a thrift shop - it was still in the original box and had probably just gathered dust for who knows how long before it was donated.Six months after I bought the guitar I started taking lessons and my instructor said it was a great guitar for a beginner like myself. I never had any issues with the sound or build quality - I'm no expert but my instructor was and he said it was just fine.I stopped my lessons after a few months and just sort of left my guitar in the trunk of my car over the summer - temperatures over 100 degrees. I expected the guitar to be warped or otherwise messed up but it still looked and sounded just fine. Its been sitting in my closet for almost 4 years now and Im thinking of taking up lessons again - I pulled it out and it still sounds the same.I think its a great value for a beginning guitarist who doesn't want to spend a lot on his first guitar.
