Would this work for catfish?

Am not certain the size of the catfish you are going after but will offer our experience with the Zebco 404. The 404 is an excellant casting reel, easy to operate, exceptionally easy to master. I taught my 12 year old daughter how to "cast" in 2-3 attempts. Our largest fish was a 3 1/2 bass which gave a good fight, no problem reeling in our trophy for the day. Zebco has been around for years and the reason I purchased the combo set was "reliability" and "predictability." For the price its a steal.

The quality and dependability of this tried and tested reel greatly exceed the price. If you enjoy “casting” your line without fighting tangled lines, this is for you. We bought two in 2014,and are using them four years later, no issues
