Great anchor
Aluminum and very light to handle, it holds my 22ft boat no problem. Like it better then my steel anchor. Looks alot like a fortress anchor. The design is great, my 12 yr. Old grandson put most of it together but the 8 bolts can be difficult to install.

I bought junk
The anchor I received was junk. It did not come with assembly instructions and it said it was easy to assemble I could not after after 3 hours of trying. Its not that I'm stupid because I'm a mechanical engineer that graduated from MIT. I'm throwing it away and buying a Fortress. What I wanted at the get but I took a chance on what I got. Big mistake. Amazon does not offer Fortress and I can't return it to them because I scratched it and looks like crap now.

Hands down best anchor system available
Have owned many anchors over the years and this is by far the easiest to deploy, holds the best, lightweight, easy to use, quality components, fit in the bow anchor slot perfectly. Could not ask for more from an anchor setup.

Nice anchor for almost 1/2 price
It's virtually identical to the name brand anchor. For almost 1/2 the price. I expect it to preform the same. I read reviews claiming the bolts are too short to attach the mud palms. I was able to use them as supplied, I will admit they need to be about 1/8 inch longer but can be made to work with a little finesse and thought. I would like to see an Allen head bolt instead of a flat head bolt.

Honestly a bargain!
I have a Fortress 7lb I use on the front of my boat and I wanted to add a second aluminum Danforth style anchor to replace the heavy galvanized anchor I was using on the back of the boat and I spotted this one on Amazon. Some of the reviews mention struggles making the hardware work, it isn't perfect but it is very doable. Once assembled I compared this to my Fortress and honestly there isn't any discernable difference between the two. Side by side they work just the same. I live in Florida and the bottom I am anchoring in is usually sand. This works great. The key to any anchor working is the rode set up. Get yourself a vinyl coated anchor chain, 4 ft. Then add a good anchor rope. You want at least 7 feet of rode (anchor rope) out for every foot of water depth. If it is windy/rough, the more rode out the better. Get yourself a 100ft rope, its cheap and your boat isn't cheap! I have had this 7lb anchor hold my 25ft tritoon in 25+ MPH winds. Again the key is the rode set up!

Good buy
I now have two of these just in case. I broke down on my 26' boat about a mile in the Gulf with 3 to 4' nasty seas and this 1 anchor held me all night. The seas were so nasty Tow boat US left me and said it was too rough we will try in the morning. The next morning I had trouble retrieving the anchor. The tow boat had to use his engines to break it free. I had a Guardian anchor made by Fortress on a previous boat years ago and I remember it was about half the price as the original Fortress and the Guardian worked great. This is an good copy of the Guardian and the Guardian was also very sharp. This was a little tricky getting the nuts threaded on the screws. There is very little space available but it is do able. Mine was pre-drilled just right so that made it easier. The instruction video was very good A++.

Assembly is TRICKY.
Quality control from the manufacturer is not the best. The holes on the "mud palms" do not line up the best. There are 4 bolts on each mud palm. Two are straightforward and easy. The other two are next to impossible to get anything in between to get the nut on the bolt. The othe oother issue is the lack oof alignment on the mud palm for the shank to swivel. I will trim this with a cutoff wheel on an angle grinder. For those without skills or tools, beware. Other than that it seems to nice after the "project" aspect.

Do not buy! Very poorly built
I don't know if an elementary school class ran their machine shop for a day or what but the fabrication alignment is terrible and you'll have to bend stuff with a pry bar to get the anchor to even be able to work. Also you have to assemble the whole anchor even though you paid a premium for it. The bolts have a flat head slot which makes no sense and I'm pretty sure this will fall apart the first time you use it. I'll have to buy a different anchor since this one isn't trustworthy. Do not buy!!!
