Can you close a door over this?

No you can't close a door with this on it .

Where is this made? USA?

Made in China according to box.

Can you use this for a childs swing

I am afraid it cannot be used as a swing, this bar is not firmly attached to the door, it is too dangerous for a child swing.

Does this pull up bar really useful?

Yes - I have been practicing at least 3 times a day for over a week. Very short practice sessions. I leave the bar up and when I walk by it, I try to do a pull up. I am very weak and I've noticed an improvement in arm, shoulder and upper back.
