Friends Jungle Rescue Base 41038 Building Set

We have owned this set for almost a year, and it remains one of my 8 year olds favorite things. Such an adventurous set, and excellent quality that you'd expect from Lego. It is a tall set, with much to do, and is a great platform for adventurous imaginary play. It took her a couple of hours to assemble. She hasn't taken it apart to rebuild it as anything else because she loves it so much just the way it is. Very happy with this product.

Super duper set from Lego. I know this catches a lot of flack for being aimed towards girls and I have a son with thousands of Legos. His sisters were not that into Lego police sets came out they were ready to join in and add to his City. This set came with a lot of interesting parts and pieces to be played with for the cost. We are super happy with it

I gave this to my six-year old daughter, and a few months later she received a different Lego Friends set. It was eye-opening to see her development as she got a little bit older and a lot more experienced doing Legos. This was her first "sophisticated" Lego kit ... she had previously played with all the various Lego blocks just like all kids do, but she had never done a "kit". As this was her first, I worked with her side by side, mostly letting her take lead, but occasionally helping out as necessary. By the time she did her second Lego Friends kit a couple months later (which was actually marked for ages starting one year older than this one) she was completely good to go on her own.As a parent, it really makes you smile to see your child develop so much in such a short time. This kit helps your child to learn to follow instructions, solve problems, watch for detail, and perform a bit of fine motor skill manipulation ... what's not to like?

I have mixed feelings about the "Friends" line as a whole - the minidolls are a resounding "meh" and I think most of it is just a bit too pink/purple, and stereotypically girly. I'm all for encouraging imaginative play for all kids, though, and I think that out of the whole Friends line, this jungle series has done it right. This (and other jungle sets) is likely appealing to everyone, not just girls, and it does some good work towards taking down stereotypes. Instead of salons and shopping malls, you've got a vine-covered tree, a little shack, and an outdoor toilet - nice!!For me personally, as someone who is far outside the target audience of this set, it's still pretty solid. I can choose not to apply many of the stickers, replace some of the bright pink tiles with something else, and it makes for an enjoyable scene. Bummer about the lavender boat and slide, but I suppose I can't get too greedy here. The animals are cute, and the range of foliage and earthy-colored parts will be great for other uses.Overall, a great set. For the $35 I paid, it's a bargain. I hope Lego Friends keeps going in directions like this in the future.

My five-year-old granddaughter was able to put it together with little help from her mother. She's been enjoyed playing with it for several days. It was a good gift for Grandpa to give granddaughter.

This was a great addition to our Lego collection. Lots of great details and unique pieces that fits this set perfectly. My 6 year old was able to put it all together by herself and loves the little animals it came with.

Hard to go wrong with Lego. Yes, it is premium priced, but my daughter loves it. Made well and Lego tends not to be abandoned after a short time as is common with so many other toys. I think this is our 5th friends set.

This was a birthday gift and has been a favorite with my kids that have too many LEGO Friends sets. The fact that there is a blue parrot in it was a key selling point. Also, it's nice to have a slide and was fun for my 6 year old to build on her own.
