We bought this hair dryer because our nearly 20 year old Conair 1875 was showing its age. Although it was still working, and we didn't want to scramble for one when it gave out. We tried a Yellow Bird, but didn't care for it and like the John 6900 a lot more. At 2200 watts it is hotter than an 1875 watt dryer and it moves more air. That said, this is not that much hotter and for someone with long thick hair, it may not be enough. It works for us. We don't have a problem with the toggle switches on the side of the handle. Our old Conair had them there an we just hold the dryer below switches. It is not a heavy dryer. We were able to catch a sale, so for $40 or so, it seems like a really good deal. Time will tell how long it lasts. But for now it is as good, or better, as any dryer we have had.

I bought this hair dryer to replace an Xtava with the same specs that I purchased about 9 years ago. A realistic review after owning two dryers with the same specs? It’s as good as my other dryer was—definitely not worse, but not amazingly better, either. I suspect that reviews calling this thing amazing are written by people who haven’t had a dryer that’s actually comparable in terms of power. Don’t get me wrong—it’s DEFINITELY a step up from what you can buy in a drug store! But it is going to revolutionize your life, either. If you don’t know how to give yourself a blow out, this thing isn’t going to magically turn you into a professional (see photo for case in point)! What it WILL do is dry your hair quickly. I have TONS of hair (crazy thick and annoying), and it made relatively quick work of it, but I’ll still have to use another styling tool to smooth it out and generally make it look less crazy. One annoying feature that may be a pro or con depending on how you look at it: I’d seen and ignored a few reviews mentioning that the switches were in a poor spot, but they are basically in the worst spot imaginable. They are right on the handle, so every time you use the dryer you have to be SUPER careful not to toggle either of the switches. It actually ended up working in my favor because I realized I was able to use the lower heat setting and still finish pretty quickly (and as an added bonus, I wasn’t all sweaty and gross when I finished)! But if you’re particular about maintaining a steady heat that you easily control, you may want to work elsewhere. In sum: it’s a keeper! But I won’t be giving out professional blow-outs any time soon.

wanted a powerful hair dryer for my wife's thick hair. Also I use it each morning to melt my moustache wax. It is designed to dry fast without being real hot. It comes with two nozzle attachments. I wish it came with a diffuser (you know, that big round thing with the prongs on it). It has cool and hot temp, medium and strong air blow settings. No issue with it.

I like this dryer. Fast drying is great and the tourmaline ceramic is a must have for fine, thin hair. I was using an ionic hair dryer and it made my hair flat. This dryer gave my hair body and bounce. However, there is one product flaw that may make me return the dryer. The cool shot button is not managable. It is contained in plastic that surrounds the button. It is not a free standing button. When I press the button, it does not get cool. The button has to be pressed down hard into the plastic hole to make the cool shot work. I have some arthritis in my hand so it's actually painful to use the cool button. But even if you do not have arthritis, this button is too difficult. They made a simple button and feature much harder than it needs to be. Disappointing.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ **Absolutely Awesome Blow Dryer** I've had this blow dryer for just shy of three years and use it at least twice every single day. It has been absolutely awesome and has held up incredibly well. It's powerful, reliable, and I especially love the extra-long cord. Even after years of regular use, it still puts out great airflow and heat. Definitely one of those purchases that turned out to be worth every penny. Highly recommend!
