Char-Broil Universal Cast Iron Grate

Love how well they give a good sear and grill marks. Just make sure that you let them hear up for at least 10 minutes.Very sturdy, and easy to clean. Since they are adjustable you may find that they shift a bit when scrubbing. I remedied this by adding a few well placed metal screws at the top and bottom it fixed it and I can still remove the grills to clean and maintain the BBQ itself.

Refurbing my Charbroil Classic 2 burner LP grill. They were half the price on Amazon as they were at the big box store. They come up about an inch too narrow to cover the entire grill surface. But they do a good job with the real area you use. That’s the reason for the 1 star reduction. Will update as necessary.

Our charcoal grill still has a few miles left in it but it was sorely in need of new grates. The old ones were crumbling and adding the wrong kind of iron to our diet. After checking with the manufacturer of the grill and finding that they don't have replacement parts, I went to Amazon to see if they had anything that would fit. They did not have an exact match in dimensions but this adjustable universal system works great. This should enable us to get a couple more seasons out of our trusty old grill.

This was a replacement for factory grates for my Char-Grill 2 burner. Unlike the factory porcelain grates this grate is thinner and will adjust to fit most grills. The problem is it may not cover the entire cooking surface as in my 2 burner grill. I had to order 2 of this grates and it still left about 2" space, so not exact fit but workable. The other problem is there is no way to lock these grates once adjusted. So when you start moving food around or cleaning them they will lose their length adjustment. I noticed the exact grates at Lowes that had thumb screws that prevented them from moving. In addition, cleaning them is not easy even with pre-spraying them prior to cooking. The benefit is stainless steel and I'm hoping not to see any rust!
