If i drop a peace will it break

My son dropped a piece just on the chess board and it broke.

How do you make sure it will deliver without any chipped pieces?

Do these come with a storage box or case? One that you can place the set on top of perhaps?

I bought it almost a year ago for someone else, so things could’ve changed, but No. Besides the box it’s shipped in and the plastic bag the pieces come in there’s no carry case or neat storage box. The person it was bought for just sets the pieces on top of the glass board for decor.
