Worked great
Instructions were lacking but overall this worked awesome. After I installed it for a 9+ hour road trip, I stopped periodically to make sure it was OK and still strapped down well.. especially since areas I’d be driving had speed limits posted at 85 so everyone is obviously doing 95 to 100. It held up just fine each way. Quality was good, and on our return we had some weather from Beryl which meant HEAVY rain. Everything remained dry. This was a great buy, tons of room, easy to set up, easy to remove. Stayed strapped down solid the whole trip. There was also no noise in the cabin with it installed. MPG suffered but I had it loaded to the max, so that’s unavoidable. I definitely recommend this if you’re in the need for a roof storage system. Each time you stop (gas, food, breaks, etc) I recommend checking the straps. I had no problems, but you don’t want to lose your cargo. This is well designed and good quality. I mounted to roof rails with no cross bars.

Read for honest feedback
I bought this bag months ago, but finally recently used it. I have been through several types of bags over my years of needing a rooftop cargo bag. This bag has had a lot of thought and quality go into it. The bag holds A LOT! I got the 28cu ft. I love the 3 bag option but only used 1 of the bags on this recent trip, and used the remaining free space for larger items. I love that the bag can be opened all the way so I can be sure to use the bag to full potential if needed. The zipper closes easily, and seems well made for a lot of use. I recently threw away two other bags after other small trips due to breaking zippers. Next, I love the velcro on the straps to limit how tight I need to tie down the straps. We drove well over 70mph for 2 hours both ways and a strap never needed adjusting. The bag is waterproof, and not made out of rigid waterproof material that is hard to handle. My only minor complaint is the bags made for use inside of the bag can not be carried by the straps if the bag is heavy. We had maybe 15 lbs worth of items and the handle started to tear off the bag. Once we noticed that, it changed how we handled the bag, but it is still usable. I will update this post after my next trips in a few weeks if there is anything to add or that may change this review, but I do not see that happening.

Awesome product
I love this bag so much I need to shorten my review! Me: 5' 4", 60 year old disabled female who travels between Tucson and Detroit every summer. I bought a new RAV4 hybrid and didn't want to damage my car with putting anything directly on the roof with a sunroof so I also ordered a luggage rack along with the Roof Pax bag. I already had factory installed roof rails so I didn't need to buy those. Both arrived quickly and without damage and no missing parts. Very easy install for both items. I opened the bag and did a trial run for packing it on my living room floor. This helped me a great deal for time. I installed both items myself very easy. I am short, so I needed a ladder to haul everything up and overhead. There's the time consuming thing. Moving the ladder around the car to load and tie down by yourself takes time. Get some help and it'll go much faster. My neighbor helped me unload when I arrived in Michigan and only took 10 minutes to unload. Now, the review. PROS: Everything! They left no stone unturned. The bag looked and felt substantial. The outer layer felt like it would hold up under my driving conditions and I was impressed right out of the box. The inner layer has some kind of rubberized coating for waterproofing. The zipper is concealed under a flap that has velco to hold it down. It came with a small lock so you can lock lock the 2 zippers together for security. It has straps all the way around to tie it down to your car. The straps have a velco piece attached at the end so you can secure the loose ends so they don't flap in the breeze. It came inside a storage bag with clips if you want to attach this bag through your windows without using a roof rack. The only CON to this so far is, how am I ever going to fold this thing back down into a storage bag? I haven't tried it yet but it doesn't matter as I have a garage. My testing of the bag: This bag took 3 days of driving in over 100 degree temps and a about 30 minutes of rain in Missouri. I drove the speed limit sometimes. Usually I'm the 10 mph over the speed limit driver on the freeway. I was pretty much 75-80 mph fully loaded with this bag though. I arrived without incident to the bag in Michigan in time for father's day. No visible damage to the bag, or to the car. My neighbor helped my unload and take the bag off in 10 minutes. No water made it through the bag and all my items were no worse for the wear. I'll return to Tucson in October. If something goes awry, I'll update this review. Here's my advice. Read other people's reviews and see what may have went wrong. Most negative comments about about roof bags of any make came from people tying these things down to their windows and having the bags rest ON THE ROOF. High winds and drag on these bags tells me they won't hold up to this abuse. Even with the bag loaded properly as per Roof Pax instruction, the drag on the luggage kills gas mileage. The RAV4 hybrid gets about 45mpg unloaded. Not on this trip I assure you. Load the roof bag so you have no hard pieces of suitcases like wheels facing the sides and front of the bag where winds at these speeds will damage anything. I don't advise any bag directly on the roof unless it's an emergency move on a short trip. As much as I spent for my car, I wanted NO damage to it. Use a luggage rack and secure the straps to that instead of your windows. I worried about the plastic clips on the straps holding up, but they did just fine. The Roof Pax is a 5 star, 2 thumbs up from me. I recommend this item under the conditions I stated. I would buy this again.

Absolutely worth every penny!
This is a solid piece of kit. Performs beyond my expectations. Very solidly built, thick canvas. Strong straps that work perfectly with the luggage rack on our 2011 Tahoe. Zipper is sturdy and protected under overhanging flap that secures on three sides via velcro tab. Top flap seals on three sides with fourth integrated with main body of bag. We were able to easily fit 2 large suitcases, 2 carryon sized cases, 2 small/medium duffle bags, 2 suit bags folded in half and still had a bit of room leftover. Straps emanate from all four sides of the bag and are equipped with 3 prong locking clasps. Straps can be tightened by pulling thru clasps and once done hold the bag and contents very securely to roof of vehicle. If u dont have a luggage rack, the bag comes with clasps that fit and feed under rubber door seals. We traveled from central Illinois to Beaufort, SC, from plains thru foothills and into Smoky Mountains then down into Carolina lowlands and eventually to coast. Tho not deluged, it did rain intermittently throughout trip and all our items stayed dry and secure. We were able to bring a thin foldup step ladder with us, tucked in the very back of the truck at the hatch and this made removal and installation of the bag and contents much easier than had we not, given the height of the vehicle combined with additional height of loaded bag. This was especially helpful given that we broke the trip into 2 segments south and 2 northward and therefore needed to remove and reinstall the bag and contents at each stop. Anyway, I highly recommend this thing. Should something fail, I will report that. I do know that eventually, if used frequently, retreating with waterproofing would likely be necessary. But man, I'm super impressed so far.

Great car roof bag, cheap lock
We bought the 15/19 expandable roof bag. It fit 3 hardside suitcases (28", 24", and 20" carryon), the largest of which was expanded. We did need to expand the roof bag to 19 to accommodate the 28" suitcase while expanded. There was a little room left over for possibly a couple small items (toiletry bag size). We drive a 2017 Chrysler Pacifica minivan with roof rack cross bars. The Pacifica side bars are not raised, but we were successfully able to secure the bag using only the crossbars. We did purchase a roof non slip mat separately on Amazon and placed that on top of our car roof first to protect it, just as a precaution. We opted to use a couple of bungee to help secure the bag to the crossbars, just as a precaution, but they really didn't seem necessary and the bag felt secure without them. The bag itself was very heavy duty quality material with a wipe-clean interior. The zippers were good quality. It took us about one hour to assemble the protective mat, roof bag, and luggage onto the car rooftop, but bear in mind it was our first time using a roof bag. Someone more experienced might be able to knock it out quicker than we did. It was easy to figure out how to use it. The bag opened up nice and wide, making it easy to put our luggage inside it. The straps were strong and sturdy and secured well. The lock included was cheap quality and we plan to replace it with a different lock, but it served it's purpose for first time use to get us going. The lock felt like it could be easily removed if someone tugged hard enough. That being said, if someone really wanted to get into the roof bag, the lock wouldn't prevent someone from cutting open the bag. However, the bag itself is made with such strong material, we think it would be very hard for someone to cut through it. So, we think buying a sturdier lock will help prevent theft of property. It was windy when we were driving, and we had no issues with the wind factor. The bag made absolutely no noise and remained secure the entire 5-6 hour trip. It didn't affect our ability to drive at typical high speeds on Texas highways, but we drove about 5 miles under the posted speed limits just to be safe. We didn't drive in rain, but we think people who had issues with rain getting into the bag may have installed it backwards. There is one side without a zipper and that end should probably be located toward the front end of the car to prevent rain water potentially finding its way inside, which is how we installed ours. The carry case included is also very sturdy and made of the same material as the bag. I've included photos of the size dimensions for the carry bag. It fits very well inside the stow and go area of our Pacifica with plenty of room to spare for other items. The protective mat be bought separately also fit inside the carry bag with the roof bag. We are giving this item 4 stars instead of 5 only because of the poor quality lock.

Gets the job done !
We needed this for our trip to Destin, which is about a 3 hr drive. We have a wagoneer and there was 6 of us so must of our packing went into this so we would have room. We had absolutely no issues at all! The size was perfect, it was very durable. We did drive through some heavy rain for at least 29 min so I was a little worried that when we got there all of our stuff would be wet but it was not, not even damp so I would definitely recommend, it was also very easy to put on the car, my husband was able to do it with no help !

A Road Trip Game-Changer!
I can't contain my excitement about this rooftop cargo carrier bag! From start to finish, it has exceeded all my expectations and made our recent family road trip an absolute breeze. First off, the **quality is top-notch**. The tie-down straps are robust and secure, the bag itself is made from a durable, weather-repellent material, and the weatherproof zippers are the cherry on top. You can tell that every component is designed with care and built to last. Now, let's talk about **storage capacity**. This beast holds an enormous **23 cubic feet** of cargo! I managed to fit several 5-gallon buckets filled with fishing gear into the rear corners with room to spare. Packing was a joy because I didn't have to play Tetris with our luggage—everything fit with ease. Installation was a **piece of cake**. It was easy to install on our car and tying it down was straightforward thanks to the well-designed straps. No fuss, no hassle. We drove from Maryland to the Outer Banks in North Carolina under sunny skies. The bag stayed put the entire way—it **didn't move an inch**! The noise level was barely above our usual road noise, so it didn't interfere with our music or conversations. Plus, there was **no noticeable impact on our gasoline consumption**, which was a pleasant surprise. The ultimate test came on our return trip when we encountered a **heavy downpour for over four hours**. I was a bit anxious about how the bag would hold up, but when we got home and unpacked, everything was **bone dry**! Not even a whisper of moisture inside the bag. The weatherproof features truly deliver on their promise. In summary, this rooftop cargo carrier bag is a **fantastic investment** for anyone needing extra storage space without sacrificing convenience or peace of mind. It's durable, spacious, easy to install, and genuinely weatherproof. It made our trip smoother and more enjoyable than ever. I **couldn't be happier** and wholeheartedly recommend it to all fellow travelers!

Worked great for Subaru Forrester
After finding out how difficult and costly having a hitch installed on my Subaru Forrester would be, I desperately began looking for ANY alternative and found RoofPax. I was skeptical and expected the worst, especially since it was only around 100 bucks. I also was a bit terrified hauling so much stuff on the roof of my car for a 3 day highway move from Chicago to the West Coast with hooks mounted to the frame...it gave me a recurring nightmare involving my stuff littered over a mile span of highway and the deaths of innocent drivers unlucky enough to be driving behind me. I am happy to report that none of that came to fruition. The product worked like a dream. It held 2 medium sized duffel bags, 2 medium suitcases, and a large suitcase (this was the large size RoofPax). WARNING: Please be sure that you have a vehicle that allows you to use the hooks prior to purchasing- watch the video! I was also able to cram winter coats in-between the bags (oh, Chicago, how I will miss your sub-zero temps!). You really cannot beat the price, efficiency, and durability of the RoofPax. After 3 days, it remained tightly fastened and did not even require re-securing. Only negative was that it was not fully water-proof, more water-resistant. After some snow and 2 days of rain, some moisture did get through. However, most of the material was in suitcases, so everything remained dry. I will take it as a big win, as this was by far the cheapest and best option I had. A very enthusiastic "two thumbs up" for RoofPax.

Good quality & great value
It’s good product with great value and very useful and safe. It took me a while to figure out how to use the straps, so I recommend clearer instructions. If you are buying this please note that if you want it fit the case it came with, you have to fold it back the same way it was packaged. So take note of that when you first use it.

Great idea, just not for a glass roof!
The box was fine, a great idea and ready to install. We returned it because it can not go on top of of a panoramic glass roof.

Great product!
We used it for a three-day road trip, and had "0" drama! Contents were dry after a moderate rainstorm. Absolutely no shifting of the load. Filling/unloading was a bit awkward, but that was expected. (Dodge vans are quite high.) This is a high quality, well designed, heavy duty, durable product. Comments: We put all items that could be water damaged into large garbage bags--this was unnecessary but cheap insurance, and made loading unloading easier. Pro-tip, use clear lawn & leave garbage bags so you know where things are. Loading/unloading was made easier with a three-step folding ladder. One more item to pack! Best of all!!! A lot of the load was one-way, so we were able to take the bag off of the roof for the return trip. Advantages compared to clam-shell units: - less expensive. - larger capacity. - easier to put on and take of of vehicle. - not a semi-permanent installation. (More practical if you have a garage to fit into.) - easy to store unit when not in use. Disadvantages: - might scuff roof (ours did not, at all). - less "classy" looking. In summary: - great for occasional use! - for frequent use, easily competes with plastic Clam Shell units. GREAT practical solution.
