The Life and Prayers of Saint Anthony of Padua

In my world, 5 star ratings for books come few and far between. Hugo's Hunchback of Notre Dame, Shakespeare's Merchant of Venice, Dostoyevsky's Crime and Punishment...I am not so much rating each one of these in this series 5 stars as I am rating the work in general. I have decided that the series is doing for me what I want great literature to do: Make me better, wiser, more in touch, help me understand the true complexities of life. These works in this series 'The life and prayers.... are not great literature; not in the same class as say, The Autobiography of Saint Teresa of Avila (written in her own words) but they are giving me a 5 star re-vitalization of my understanding of Communion with the Saints. I did not know 98% of the information contained in this short read of Saint Anthony of Padua nor most of the prayers, which I find I am hungry for. I had underestimated this great Saint and now I understand more about his life, and who he really is, and I'm five stars better for renewing and growing and old friendship. Thanks Wyatt North for this fine 5 star work you are doing, I pray our world will be the better for it; amen.

Wow so much information and history on St. Anthony. This book reaffirmed my love for the Saint and I will reread this over again to learn more about the Saint again and again. Good history, thoughts on his prayer life and studies. Also information on his disciplines and theology. This should be a requirement for any who study Church history or the Saints. Especially a good quick read for those entering into a Confirmation program or RCIA and looking for Saint. Excellent work for such a short text! Peace and God Bless on your studies.

I had always hesitated when told to find something lost you must ask for the help of Saint Anthony due to being Christian not Catholic. This was because I did not have a true understanding of his works in relation to worshiping & praising God through Christ. After reading about the life of Saint Anthony by giving so much to God's people to meet their worldly needs as well as these acts of charity for the restoration of their soul, he truly lived his life as Christ asked all of us to do & that is to not hold your treasures & to be a witness by example & the powers of healing & finding lost items that mean so much to someone, Saint Anthony & others knew & acknowledged his abilities through his works were a blessing from our Lord. Great read...inspires one to do a better job of living a Christlike life here on earth & to give with our heart here on earth & to find & receive our treasures in Heaven.

This is a short summary (51 pages) on the life of Saint Anthony of Padua, the patron saint of lost things. If you want to learn more about this popular saint, this will give you a quick overview. There are several prayers included at the end of the book. The only reason that I didn't give it five stars is because there's not much detail in the stories and only the most famous ones are covered.

A great introduction to a saint cherished by many around the world for the power to intercede of their behalf. Especially appropriate for young people interested in learning about St. Anthony. I especially welcomed the prayers included at the end.

I have prayed to St. Anthony to find things that are lost so many times I have lost count. I am often asked by co-workers and friends to ask St. Anthony for help, I stop what I am doing and immediately send off a little prayer. St. Anthony is often on the fast track with the answer, sometimes it takes a little time and patience, and some things are not meant to be found. When the items are found all I ask is that they thank St. Anthony not me. I of course thank him and his angels for their help as well. This book was a good insight into St. Anthony's life on earth. It was nice to learn a little about the saint we all have come to depend on.

Once again, another delightful, inspirational, easy-reading Life of a Saint from Wyatt North. At this point I can't remember how many of the titles in this series I've read, but this one confirms that I'd like to read the whole series. My own two children were born at St. Anthony's Hospital in St. Petersburg, Florida, where the care couldn't have been better or kinder. I've always felt a sense of St. Anthony's presence without knowing much more about him than as the finder of lost objects and Patron Saint of Sailors,etc. His life confirms him as the kind of Saint anybody could relate to, not the severe ascetic, but rather a servant to his world, a teacher, a miracle worker. His prayer to the Holy Spirit is itself alone worth the price of the book. Loved it and would highly recommend it!

Interesting read about St Anthony and beautiful prayers. Prayers are short and straight to the point. If you're looking for a collection of his prayers, then this is it.

I have always put my faith in, and prayers to St Anthony when I couldn’t find things whether for myself or other people in need... he rarely doesn’t come through... ♥️🙏♥️

Nice little overview of the life of St Anthony and some great little prayers to help us in our daily life or moments of crisis. Well worth the download for all devotees of this miraculous Saint.
