Kenmore 600 Series 81615 Pet Friendly Bagged Canister Vacuum Cleaner

Love, love, love a kenmore canister vacuum! Kenmore makes amazing canister vacs. The power head really cleans very well, and the brush fluffs the carpet and I love the lines it leaves. The suction is adjustable and amazing. I like having a bag that I just remove and toss, versus dumping and dealing with dust and dander. I love that the handle adjusts up and down to my height or for properly reaching underneath or up high. This model easily goes from carpet to tile, wood etc. It comes with a tile floor attachment, brush and wand, but the best is the furniture mini vac attachment for furniture, mattress or stairs. You can get under anything with this vac. Light weight, retractable cord and the size is perfect for carrying or even resting on top a ladder. (I use it to clean my return air vents) This is a pet model and trust me, it works well on removing animal fur from everywhere. I even use it to clean my curtains and blinds. This is a great value because it will last you a very, very long time! So many uses. Just purchase it and enjoy the Kenmore quality!

I cannot say enough about this vacuum cleaner! It had been awhile since I bought one so I decided to do some online research and look for the best rated vacs that were affordable, had great suction and had the tools I wanted. It was also important that the vac worked well on both carpet and hardwood floors. I have 3 dogs so it can get pretty 'hairy' lol sometimes so the pet attachment for my couches was a big selling factor! I purchased this vacuum cleaner about 2 months ago and I am always pleased each time I use it! Shout Outs: The suction slide adjustment is a WONDERFUL feature Great for both carpet and hardwood floors Lightweight Pet cleaning tool I chose the 700 series because it has a light. This is a good feature for low light corners.

Well, they don’t make them like they used to. I had my other progressive canister for probably 25 years. It was a beast. That being said this vacuum works perfectly well. Great suction. Better than any of the cordless stick vacs that I have. The tools are stored well and are convenient. Love the stair hugging feature. The pop and go feature is a little weird and not as easily used as you would think it should be and the floor piece feels weird when using it. The door covering the accessories feels very flimsy. The hose tends to get a little twisted with the 360° rotation on the unit and the wheels only go one way - they don't swivel making it hard when going around things. The cord rewind is just OK. On my last Kenmore the cord wound up so quickly - almost aggressively! This one, not so much. I've had to mess with it to get the whole cord to rewind. Overall, I think it’s worth the money. You could (and I have!) spend a lot more on other vacuums that might not work as well.

First let me say I have been a 50 yr supporter of Kennmore products as has been my family. So, when my previous kennmore canister vacuum expired after several years of rugged use (teenagers & dog), it was a no brainer for me to replace with another one of the same type. It arrived swiftly and was gladly received with enthusiasm to get to work. Functioned terrifically....hardwood floors, area carpets, great suction and power for pet hair. Very pleased. But then...after only one months use, the hose detached/seperated from the canister in a way it wasn't designed to. I attempted to reassemble. Plugged it and turned on. Sparks flew like crazy. Scary! Amazon was great about returning it and sending a replacement. Two months later, exact same thing happened to the replacement. My husband attempted to gently reassemble and once again, sparks flew like crazy. Dangerous to say the least!!! Came back to my transaction account on Amazon to see what the next step might be. Apparently Amazon only makes good on one return. After that, I was directed to the manufacturer...Kennmore. At this point, they are not sending a replacement. They are going to send me a new part. However the part is out of stock and on back order. Actually, the part they are sending goes to another model, I was told but it's the same for both models but might be a different color. May be on back order for one month and if not received by then, call them back. In the meantime, my house is full of pet hair from my large Labrador shedding his winter coat. I asked about just having a whole replacement instead but according to what I was told, the whole vacuum is also on back order. I have to wait for the part and if it doesn't come, then they will decide how to handle it next. Really, this is a huge issue for me. I can't give the vacuum itself a good review since both of them broke in the same way. There must be a weakness or defect in the product. I also can't say Kennmore has been good to work with either. 4/28/24 I just came back on here to check if there were any follow-up comments by either Amazon or Kenmore as I sometimes see when I read a review that gives a low rating. No comments, but I decided to read some of the other poor reviews while I was on the site. I wish I would have read them first!! I am having the exact same problems....the hose connection, the burning and sparks. I never read the reviews, because as I initally wrote, I have been a Kenmore product user for at least 50 yrs and my family before that even....( washers, dryers, stoves, refrig, freezer - actually have a 43 yr old Kenmore chest freezer in my basement working beautifully, vacuums and probably other things too). So, I figured it was a no brainer, no need to read the reviews. What a mistake. 5/30/24 So the new hose/part arrived about a week ago, maybe a week and a half. Due to illness I didn't get to try it out right away. Able to get to business today. Surprise, surprise....the new part does NOT work. Looks just like the part that failed. Although the representative did tell me the replacement would not be the one that went to the model I purchased, but one that went to a similar model that used the same hose. Well....apparently not!! At this point, I do not know who to contact anymore. I am now at 6 mos past origional purchase. When/if I finally get through to customer service today, will they say time has expired and I am past warranty date?? So, $348.15 down the drain!?? I will repost an update after today with the results. By now, I should be sent a refund, obviously another new machine will not solve the problem since it seems this model is defective.

We really love this vacuum. So glad to have a Hoover again. Very good quality, great suction pickup - even against walls and floorboards. Really Like all the attachments too, and they are very convenient to get to. We prefer a cannister vac because it is lightweight, easy to maneuver, and can reach under and around items. And best of all - it has a bag! No more emptying dusty, dirty bag-less vacs where it flies everywhere and the hollow drum part stays filthy. And the bag holds a lot so it doesn’t need changing that often. Only thing is I wish the hard floor attachment was a little bigger. But on the large head there is a switch for carpet or hard floor, so that takes care of it.

I love this vacuum. The cord is really long and the suction is fantastic. I like the variety of attachments and they are easy to change. Being a canister it can be a little annoying when you want to vacuum higher up. I had a lot of construction done recently and this vacuum saved me. I've had the stick Dyson's they look nice but they dont last long at all. I had one of these previously this is a repurchase my first one was in a flood. the only annoying this is that the top lid holding one of the accessories pops open sometimes but I just deal with it bc its such a good vacuum otherwise

I have used Kenmore canister vacuum cleaners for 50 years. This is the third one I have purchased. This model is not as good as the first two models I have owned. On this model the oversized plastic collar designed to be the attachment point for the various attachments is so large as to prevent vacuuming under some of my furniture. Now, I have to take the Swiffer and get the debris from under the low furniture before I vacuum. The older models did not have these bulky plastic collars at the metal hose joints, thereby easily fitting under the sofas and chairs. The older models' hard floor tool swiveled easily to adjust to vacuuming shoe moldings and baseboards. This new one is rather stationary with a very slight tilt up-down which is not easily controlled. The pet hair tool is not jointed so it is easily positioned on the furniture, but is a straight extension of the hose, making it awkward to get the job done. The plastic hook, designed to hold the hose while being stored, broke during the first 6 months of use. On the last model I owned, this feature lasted in excess of 20 years. I appreciate the good suction and the HEPA filtration system. Overall I am a bit disappointed. I think they have "improved" it to the point where it is just not as good as before.

By far the BEST vacuum. I had a miele for 23 years and wanted something similar but not pricey. I tried 3 different ones and this fits the bill. Ist is SOOOOOO strong on suction. The BEST thing is that the on/off and suck adjuster are on the handle. To put away you stand it up on end and there is a clip for the hose! LOVE that. No more hose laying everywhere. After I vac'd the air felt clean, literally, clean. Nothing leaked out from the hose or canister. No icky dirty dust flying back out. The ONLY thing I do not like is that it is a little bulky. But I will deal with it. I am going to buy one for my son's loft. Now, will it last like the miele????? We shall see.

I purchased this Kenmore 600 Series Canister Vacuum Cleaner back in July. I generally like to use an item that is a little more on the high end (pricewise) for a little while before I do a review. My reasoning is that I want to make sure it works and doesn't disappoint me a few weeks or even a month after I buy it. I absolutely love it! I've always liked using a canister vacuum as I prefer that style over an upright one and I like the Kenmore name and I have been happy with the brand. The suction is incredible. I love that it has a feature where you can increase or decrease the suction with a slider so if you are about to suck something up into the hose, you just move the slider to the least amount of suction and it will let go. LOL! This feature is nice for smaller area types of rugs so you can decrease the suction as the beater bar comes near to the edge of the loose rug which would prevent it from getting sucked up. I did mention that there IS a lot of suction. It has onboard attachments and the little door pops open by the touch of your foot when you want to swap them out and it has a tiny light that comes on. It comes with a nice size beater bar for doing your carpeting and you can exchange it for a floor attachment if you wish. It also has an extended wand feature which helps to reach higher places when needed. I also have to comment on the purple colour. It's absolutely beautiful. I'm quite happy. I try to take extra care of it because it's so lovely to look at! There is a HEPA filter etc... By the way, with regards to my previous Kenmore vacuum (it was an Elegance in Spring Green) I am able to use those bags in this vacuum. I'm probably leaving something out but off the top of my head that's what I wanted to convey. I would recommend this vacuum.

This is a power house machine! I use a battery vacuum, for quick temp cleaning of pet hair I have two shedding fur kid dogs. This unit has huge suction power ... and absolutely worth the investment. I have owned 3 Kenmore vacuums.... my first one died after 28 years ...so i had to use my second one 16 years old to replace it in my rental unit..... This machine is amazing.... I am so impressed with its cleaning abilities and how it out performs my older units! Great job Kenmore! Looking forward another decades of use!

Bought mine refurbished. It was still in original packaging and was not dirty by any means. I have cats and carpet. Does a great job at getting litter out of carpet. Operation of it is actually quieter than I expected. It has a variable speed slider on the handle that actually slows and speeds up the motor of the vacuum. Rather than a little door that allows suction loss. The pet attachment roller is powered and strong. The only thing that I wasn’t the biggest fan of was the way the main power head turns/ pivots. The neck turns but the power head doesn’t turn with it. So you have to do the “pull back and turn” to change direction. Other than that I love it and would definitely recommend it to pet owners and anyone that needs a vacuum that doesn’t spit dust and smell everywhere.

I bought this last year during Prime Days; I wanted to wait for close to a year to see how dependable and functional this canister vacuum is. This is my 3rd Kenmore and I have been VERY happy with the brand, and the way it has performed. Over the years, I can see that there have been slight re designs of some of the vacuum components, and noticed that upon reading the owner's manual, that there are some new recommendations for storing this vacuum. Notably, they want you to disconnect the vacuum hose both from the canister itself and from the wand. That way, there is no stress on the hose joints (which has been a problem in older models). As far as suction goes, this vacuum is terriffic. I have been using the HEPA bags, which help to cut down on allergens, and so far, 1 year in, everything is great. From my end, I would highly recommend.

I have had this vacuum for over a year. Prior to buying, I read a mass amount of reviews on different vacuums as well as watching videos on the best possible vacuum to get for the money. This vacuum continuously came up and after owning it, I’m not really sure why. This is hands-down, the worst vacuum I have ever purchased and I regret it deeply. The vacuum suction is horrific and never seems to get all the debris that gets tracked in through the house. It does not come anywhere close to my shark lift away.(which I was replacing when it broke after 20 years). This vacuum is not only heavy, but cumbersome. I originally chose this vacuum because I have multiple style of floors and wanted attachments within hands reach. The hardwood floor attachment container, continuously pops open when walking up the stairs as the clasp is not sturdy and a slight bump will release the clip. Getting hair out of the power bar is extremely difficult. I would like to come up with a pro, but that is an impossibility. I would advise looking into a different vacuum if you are ready to make a new purchase. This vacuum is not worth the cost by no stretch of the imagination. Currently it sits in my basement collecting dust because it’s not even worth giving away.
