are these dishwasher safe?

Accepted Answer

You should never put quality knives in the dishwasher - the acids in the soaps can cause etching, start corrosion, and weaken the bonding agents used to hold the handles together. Quality knives should always be hand washed with mild soap right after use, dried completely and stored  properly.

Question 2

I love the knives but the paring knife cannot fit into the block. The slot is too small. I sent a feedback not but have not heard back. Help!

I wouldn't hold your breath waiting for them to address this shortcoming.  If you love the block,  I simply suggest buying a cheap rectangular wood file and elongate the slot entrance. It looks like only the opening is a few millimeters to short. Luckily the paring knife is tapered so only having to file or sand the paring knife's opening. The maker should have better quality control.

Option B is another decent option. Ditch the block altogether. You can buy a high end Zwilling knife block over in the Amazon Warehouse deals with a little bit of patience . I bought one of Zwilling's Kramer blocks last week for $6.32 (with tax it was under $7 shipped) Its a $150 block. I bookmarked Amazons Warehouse deals, and did a Zwilling search. I checked it once per day and on day 3 I found that deal.

Are these knives made from actuall "Damascus" steel? Or they are just plain stainless steel with "laser" etching imprint?They are true "layered"steel?

The company states on the box, "Our knife crafted from Damascus VG-10 super steel core comprised of 67 layers of different steels with 1000*C heat treatment and -100*C ice calcination treatment for outstanding durability and performance."

What is the degree of sharpness of the blades?

Hi there, I really don't know there degree of sharpness is but, I know these are the sharpest set of knives I've ever purchased before. I'm very satisfied with them myself. I only wish they came with a few steak knives as well.
