Great range for sketching and journaling - erasers and sharpener actually work! > I bought the Mr. Pen 14-pack (10B to 6H) for my craft projects with my own money. I've been using them for a week on 65lb cardstock and regular sketch paper. > What I liked: - The dark range is really dark. 10B, 8B, 6B give a true soft black and blend well with a finger or stump without a lot of dust. - The light range (2H to 6H) is great for light outlining and doesn't dent the paper. - Pencils sharpened clean. I used the included sharpener and it gave a very fine point with no breakage. The wood didn't splinter. - Both erasers erased clean without tearing my paper. > What to know: They are not as heavy as my professional grade pencils, but for the price and for everyday sketching, crafts, and practice, they worked great. > I would buy again for crafts, school, and art journaling. That's the style that gets "helpful" votes — you say what you used it on, what worked, and one small honest note. For your photos — take these 3 with your phone: 1. All 14 pencils laid out lightest to darkest 2. One page with swatches from 10B down to 6H so people see the gradient 3. Before/after eraser test If you want to try a 20-second video review too (this is what earns commission later), say this: "Testing my Mr. Pen drawing set I just got from Amazon. These pencils are very nice, and for an incredible price. And who doesn’t love a good metal case with a squirrel on the cover? I even like the spelling of Pencils as “Penciles” on the box. Made me smile. Very happy with quality and range, though instead of an 8B, there was a second 10B. (One of the 10Bs looked like the cat got it). No worries! I have other 8B pencils. But you know what I loved the most? The nice thank you cards included in the pencil box. In a time when most Amazon orders are just thrown into a box and arrive with little packaging, this extra touch warmed my heart. I’d buy again. Thank you.

They are what they claim. Good pencils, well made. I used the 4,5,and 6H pencils first because I had not ever used a H, hard graphite drawing pencil. The graphite is very scratchy, and hard to erase for such a lighter mark. The Bs are soft, dark, erasable and a joy to use. For me, sizes .03mm and ,05mm were scratchy on paper, brittle in use and pretty Meh overall. The .7mm and 2mm lead holder are great when higher quality lead like pentel and uni-ball is used.

These are very nice and come in a lovely tin with a nice note and I was wondering where I have a sharpener( recently moved) and they were sharpened. So happy I chose these

I was looking for very black graphite pencils. These were recommended somewhere in reviews. So I tried them. The Blackest ones are super black. They do smudge slightly with water but not water soluble at all. All of them held a point really well and sharpened in an electric Staples brand sharpener to a very fine point with no breakage at all. The pencils are quite slim and sometimes I need to reinsert them into the sharpener to trigger the auto sharpening. The hardest ones are great for texture. I tried them on 3 types of paper and got some snagging on cotton, vintage type of paper when using the hardest leads. I do love the hardest leads for textures most. The tin is so cute and very nice hinged lid. Love the squirrel graphics. The lettering and numbers on the pencil are very easy to read and I was so happy. No shiny silver or gold writing blaring in the light.

Buy this one. Excellent quality and a complete set for basic sketching. This is the set i keep grabbing when I set down at my desk to relax

I was looking for graphite sketch pencils like I had back in HS and found these. 14 pencils in varying strength. (Softer; dark for shading & hard; fine line &details) And you cant beat the price either. One small detail i also liked was the included thank you card and mustache sticker. Lol! The pencils come in a tin for storage with a cute squirrel on the front. They work well and im very happy with them. I think they would be good for beginers and more experienced artists.

These pencils are exactly what I was after. As someone who is learning to draw late in life (and yes, you can too) I wanted the variety of hardness options but didn’t want to break the bank when I haven’t even developed personally preferences yet. At the price, these are perfect… and I even appreciated the hand written note from the company founder in the tin. The pencils come pre-sharpened though to a profile I was unfamiliar with… better for shading especially. If you are picking this up to draw I’d recommend grabbing. Long point pencil sharpener if you don’t have one already!

Bought this for my brother. This pencil set has a good range of hardness and softness, perfect for sketching and shading. The pencils feel nice to hold, and the quality is solid for the price. Great for both beginners and more experienced artists
