Don't let the price turn you off, these are some of the nicest quality, not to mention largest, swaddle blankets you can buy! We own two; after my baby got too big to swaddle, we noticed that he still liked to hold them and bury his face in the soft cotton. Now, his favorite one is his security blankie!PROS: 100% cotton that gets softer as it's washed. Size - They're HUGE which makes secure swaddling a breeze (swaddling instructions are printed right on the tag so you never forget). Warmth and breathability of the natural fabric. Lots of cute designs. Large enough to use as a car seat or stroller cover. Big and snuggly enough to offer as a blankie when they're outgrown!CONS: Price, unfortunately. They're also maybe too warm sometimes, depending on the temperature of baby's sleep area (I wouldn't wrap them up if they're wearing footie jammies).One of these blankets would make an excellent gift if you don't buy one yourself! Highly recommend!

This is my favorite baby blanket and perfect for swaddling. The cotton flannel is not too heavy or too light for baby. At 42x42, I have yet to find a baby blanket that is this large. Most baby blankets are cute, may be super soft and in materials like fleece, but all are too small. Besides, unless you keep your home freezing, who wants to swaddle their baby in fleece or other heavy materials?There are other swaddle blankets out there that many say they prefer as those blankets stay secured with velcro. Not me. When it's 3am and your baby starts stirring for a feeding, the last thing I want to do is fully wake baby for a diaper change by pulling apart that velcro. The Swaddle Designs blanket is large enough to securely and snugly swaddle baby without all the velcro or presized foot/leg pockets. My baby hated those because it restricted her leg movement.Even if you don't use the blanket for swaddling, it's still a great size for a nursing cover or tummy play time. After using the Swaddle Designs blanket, all other baby blankets seem like oversized burp cloths.

Perfect weight for fall and winter. Extra large size makes it useful for all different purposes. Washes well and seems durable and soft.

We have at least six of these blankets in different patterns for our baby twins. They are soft and thick and warm, and big enough to be useful for quite a while. When our babies were first born they were less than six pounds each, and we were able to create very secure swaddles with these blankets. The flannel is very high quality and something about the texture of the fabric helps the swaddle stay in place. Our babies are now six months old and we've stopped swaddling, but we use the blankets to wrap them up for snuggling. The stitching and patterns have held up well through frequent washings and stains have come out without any special treatment. We have the Mod Circles, the Owls, and a few other designs, mostly in gray, and I like how subtle they are. I can't recommend these blankets enough, particularly if you live in a cooler climate or your baby will be born in the winter. I'm confident we'll get many years of use out of them.

This is our 6th Swaddle Designs blanket, two for each of our three kids. We have also given away several as presents. They are, by far, the best swaddle blankets we have seen or tried, and the feedback from our gift recipients has been similar. They are generous in size, making the swaddling process easier and the swaddle itself tighter without the need for any additional velcro, etc. The blankets are amazingly soft and comfy, and just get more so with washing and love. The blankets are still in active use as favored blankies/lovies for our 5 year old and 2 year old, and we are sure the new baby will love his just as much. The recent addition of a large tag with simple, clear and pictured directions for swaddling is a genius move for sleep deprived new parents.

This blanket is very cute and is a good size for a swaddling blanket. My only complaint is that it takes a LOT of washings to get soft. It starts out very stiff and that isn't ideal for swaddling. I actually prefer their muslin version of this for swaddling (which also takes a few washings to get soft).

I was given three of these as gifts when I was pregnant 18 years ago - best size and quality! One of the few thinks I’m keeping in hopes of a grandchild some day! Now I give them as gifts to my nieces. They live than as much as I did. Big enough for nap time as baby gets a bit bigger!
