HiQltyla Microwave Door Switch Replacement, KW3AT-16 16A 125VAC, 1NC | 1x Normally Closed Switch Microwave Oven Repair Accessory (Downward Compatible with KW3A-16)

My GE Microwave JVM3160RF4SS kept tripping the breaker right after I pressed start. Found out it was this door switch. Check videos online on how to replace it. Key Fob Rob has the best one. I suggest disassembling and testing all three switches before you order anything. You might need only one. Based on others comments it seems to be the middle switch (normally closed) that usually has the problem and that rang true in my case. If your microwave has no power (lights, clock, etc.) and it's not a tripped breaker check the fuse and order that while you're at it. Both are easy to fix and saved me from buying a new microwave.EDIT: Check your latch board also. After replacing the switch the breaker tripped again when I pulled open the door mid cook cycle (which I learned is hard on the microwave, press stop/cancel instead). Sure enough the switch was fused together again. Come to find out the switch going bad is just a symptom of the actual problem which in my case was the latch board having a groove worn in the spot where the latch hooks on. The safety system of the microwave relies on those switches being tripped at exactly the same time when the door is opened. If not then one of those switches sacrifices itself which causes the breaker to trip. Examine the edge of the holes where the door latch goes. They should be perfectly flat (see pic new vs old). Although it's hard on the microwave to open it mid cycle, I found that is the best way to verify everything is working as it should after you're finished with your repair.

My microwave threw the breaker once I started cooking something. I replaced one of the door latches (after figuring out how to get to the latches and test them for continuity) and now it works. It still throws the breaker whenever I open the door to interrupt cooking, so there is some other issues I have not solved. But at least I can use the microwave again as long as I remember to cancel the cooking before opening the door or else wait for it to complete the cook time.

Works for the GE Model JVM3160DF3WW microwave. I tested the switch with a multi-meter before I installed it to make sure it wasn't a dud, it was a good. Easy install and worked liked a charm.

Initially thouhh the switch I got was bad. Turns out the door switch holder was worn out where the latch holds causing it to not always engage the switches in the correct order, causing then to blow and then the breaker.

I've had to replace my microwave oven door switch several times due to the switch failing. Each time was after someone opened the microwave door while the oven was still running, usually because something was boiling over in the microwave. I am giving this higher temperature switch a try since replacing the switch is not easy. Hopefully this higher temperature switch will be more durable. So far so good.

This completely changed the way I see the world. I had no idea that the purchase of this switch could have such a profound effect upon my life. Completely recommend! … oh and it also fixed my microwave door!

If I could have give a “NO” star review I would have but it made me pick 1. Received parts, checked part with ohm meter and it was the right on which is normally closed, installed it and started microwave and it crapped out, the switch. When I opened door the breaker tripped and when I checked it with meter it is stuck in the closed position. So this product is not good and only lasted 1 microwave cycle, junk and not worth my time to print out return and send back. I’m sure many others have done same, guess that’s one way for the company to make money!!!

The picture of this switch shows the two terminals close together.I received the switch and the terminals are to far part for the terminal from the micro wave to connect.Look at the switch from the side. This one has one terminal coming out of the bottom of the terminal. A second terminal comes out of the switch and is about 3/8 of an inch from the top.The switch I need is the one with the terminal coming out of the bottom and the other terminal has to be about 1/2 to 3/4 inch from the top.This switch is normally closed and the switch opens the internal points..
