It Worx...Yet, here's how it worx...
It worx, yet here's how it worx.. so, everything anyone has ever said about Just For Men is true. I used it for 11 years without symptoms then one day it was all over. Turns out I'm also 11 years older so I need it more lol. What a nightmare JFM is. Wow. Wow. Caused sores, blisters, pus, redness, itching as you could expect in hell... like the kinda itching that once you start scratching you're hypnotized to not stop and you're helpless to it... if you use JFM and this isn't happening to you... don't worry... it will. 100%. I got prescribed Prednisone/Steroid cream. Took a couple months to heal. GOOD NEWS... Grizzly works. And so we never have to go gray again safely... HOWEVERRRRRR, so the turn your beard green, purple thing... it will happen UNLESS you do this... Here's the trick and cut and paste it... 1) First it goes a long way so get just one tablespoon spoon (short beard grunge, two tablespoon for longer beards) flattened not even full... dump it in a plastic cup or use the old Just For Men tray AND JFM brush too! ... ALSO, regarding the base it comes with... so I pour all the bag of die powder into a special glass jar when I open the package and so I mix 1 part base with 3 parts grizzly mix... no need to do the base separate it's funny like that. 2) boil black coffee, and add boiling coffee drop by drop until it's only a thick paste, do not thin it out! I mean thick, toothpaste thick... see this is the trick, because you cheapskates may be making it too thin... by doing it thick it's super concentrated and bonus it's easy to put on without dripping! 3. IMPORTANT! You gotta put it on within 2 minutes of mixing it! DO NOT LET IT SIT, DO NOT LET IT GET COLD, that color is alive that first couple minutes... 4. LEAVE IT ON for 40 minutes...NO LESS! it stabilizes by itself so it'll only color so far... it's gotta dry up like plaster does (TMI, I take care of all my bathroom biz at the same time so its no hassle for me) 5. Take shower and rinse off and you're gonna be awesome! These instructions took me many trial and error sessions. And eff Just For Men for ruining many many good days.

Waste of money and time
Purchased this because the product was natural. It was natural as stated and was the only product that I did not have an allergic reaction to. That being said, it did not add any color to my beared. Attempted 3 different occasions. Followed instructions and first. Last time spoke to customer support and followed there instructions. Final conclusion - it is a waste of time and money. Each time I had to spend close to 1 hour following the process. The amount of powder you have to use based on instructions would give you MAYBE 6 uses. It never did change the color of my beared. But it did add a green tint to my skin.

Great product! Take the time to get it right and you’ll be thrilled with the results!
This is a great product and great find, there are some caveats that need to be explained in order to truly be satisfied and happy with the product. 1. Take the instructions literally and don’t have unrealistic expectations. 2. Don’t rush through applications and be sloppy with the measurements. 3. Understand that this natural product might work a little slower than the nasty chemical alternatives, but good things come to those that wait. Initially when I got the product, I was overly eager to apply the stuff, and was being lazy about measuring things out properly and applying it just as instructed. I also didn’t have the patience to wait and allow the absorbed materials to develop within my beard hairs. I rushed and just eyeballed everything. The paste that I made was more of slurry than a ketchup thick paste. That being said, even being sloppy and rushing, the initial application worked at dying about 95 percent of my white hairs. The instructions say to do it on a Frost night, so you have the weekend to get it perfect. This is not to be taken with a grain of salt. It does continue to develop over the next day. That being said, I was in a rush, so I did two more applications that same day, one with the organic base dye that is office, and one with the color that I wanted. At this point I got 98% of the white hairs on my face dyed. I still felt frustrated, because I wanted instant 100% coverage. I went to bed and woke up the next day, and now I’m completely satisfied and happy. Not only did I get the full coverage that I wanted, it looks natural, my skin doesn’t feel burned or damaged like the chemical alternatives on the market, and it really looks natural. This is a highly recommended product that I’ll be keeping in my arsenal of tools to use for a long time. A Lorrie patience and trusting in the process goes a long way, and actually following the instructions and taking the time to adequately measure the ingredients to get the powder into a ketchup like paste rather than a thin slurry will assist you in getting it right. Using water as hot as you can tolerate will expedite the process for those really coarse hairs. Solid buy and great product. Both pictures below show my beard today, pictured below are the after shots, with another picture of what my whites looked like.

If your facial hair is white, I hope you like purple.
Loved the ease of mixing and the total lack of skin irritation. It actually felt good on my skin. Sadly, my very white mustache turned aqua, then kind of mauve and then a splendid purple. They warned that this might happen with white hair and I tried the repeat applications with the base and dye to no avail. It just got more purple, which I liked. For a while. The brown parts of my beard took the dye just fine and got a bit darker. If your hair is gray or darker it should work fine, but my white mustache and beard areas just refused to take the dye properly.

Good product, although it does take some learning to apply correctly
Having done about 3 applications now, I think I can give an honest review on this. Overall, I do think this is a good product and meets my expectations. It does not completely dye the white out of my beard, but this is fine with me. My main goal was just to darken my beard up because its been getting a little too white for my liking. I think a little white peppered in there gives it a more natural look, so I've been satisfied with the results. I have had to experiment a little bit with this product though, and I'd like to share a few things I did and learned using this dye: 1. Before applying, I did the elbow test. Took a little bit of the product and put it on my elbow to see if my skin would have an adverse reaction. You should definitely do some kind of spot test on your skin before applying anything like this to avoid rashes or burns on your face. Even still, I did feel some slight irritation in the skin after about 15-20 minutes, so be sure not to keep it on your face longer than the product suggests. 2. I also spot tested in my beard in some areas that I wouldn't mind chopping off if it turned purple or something. Had some pretty good results here, so I went ahead and applied to my whole beard. 3. Others have mentioned using hot water or even hot coffee water to stir the powder in. I think just using hot water to mix gives the best results, although let it cool down enough that it isn't burning you before applying, obviously. 4. While you should give your beard a good wash beforehand, I think its a bad idea to wash your beard with any kind of shampoo or anything after application. The one time I had less than desired results was when I used some beard wash to clean the product out of my beard. This left it looking a bit light brown and slightly purple in some places (my natural color is black). So Just clean the product out in the shower with warm water and let it be for a day or two and just wash with water before going with shampoo/beard wash.

Did not work, beard turned purple.
The mixture process is easy. It’s natural and did not irritate my skin. There are three problems with this. 1. I don’t like the smell and even after waiting over 48 hours and washing the smell lingers when you put your beard in hot water. Sometimes you smell it just throughout the day. 2. My beard turned purple so I went to YouTube to see what to do. I ended up applying more of the organic, but that did not help. I get so frustrated. I ended up just cutting my beard off and going natural next time I won’t use any dye. 3. There are no real instructions. I had to go to YouTube to see what other said they should do if it wasn’t for the purple spots my only complaint would be the smell.

No reaction like JFM. Just a great, natural looking, ACCURATE color!
Works for me and doesn't make me itch and break out like JFM. At first I picked the wrong Grizzly Mountain color, but it still worked, and the right color works even better! I have thick dark, dark brown hair on my head, sprinkled with gray streaks, mostly over my temples (my son says like Mr Fantastic). Having used JFM I was in the habit of buying color that's lighter than advertised because JFM would always over-darken. For my beard type, Grizzly Mountain colors are exactly what they're supposed to be. First pass I did 15 minutes of color, instead of the recommended 30 minutes, and got too little of an effect. I also mixed the stuff a little too watery. Next pass was 30 minutes and a little more like the thickness of white glue and that worked great. I had the slight green tint for 2-3 hours and then it was the right color brown as the package was marked. But like I said, I have DARK brown hair, so the medium brown face hair seemed a little off to me. As my medium brown was aging through the week, I bought a package of BLACK Grizzly Mountain so I could either use the straight black or mix it 50/50 with the brown to get a home-made dark brown. Turned out that the black treatment on top of a week old (and slightly starting to fade) brown was a good look for me. These days I do the treatment just once per week and it works GREAT, looks very natural, covers my 50% gray beard/mustache hair and blends it well with the remaining 50% of facial hair that is still dark and hasn't turned gray yet. For reference, my facial hair is fairly short, but longer than stubble. My chin and soul patch are a little longer than a #3 guide on a beard hair trimmer. My mustache is relatively full, but not Tom Selleck/Burt Reynolds thick. I read somewhere that the Grizzly Mountain dye works on the hair follicle below the skin, and I think that's a reason that it still looks good for a week. And since it fades SLOWLY over the period of a week, just doing the routine every weekend is an easy deal.

First and last try of this crap
There are so many reasons to not buy this product. First of all, the instructions are vague and unnecessarily verbose... not only is it a whole page of florid prose most of which is unrelated to the actual application process, but it doesn't even have the right steps that work for many of the people who use this junk. For example, there is no specification of amount of water to add to the mix. When I first tried this, I seemed to have put in too much and it had the consistency of swamp water... then later did I realize (what they don't mention) that you only add a few drops of water, maybe a teaspoonful, to this thing to make it "like ketchup" as they describe. Second, it smells awful! There is an acrid, bitter smell to this that is sort of like grass and dirt mixed with onions or some horrible vegetable else... it is difficult to describe. It is not entirely noxious but I was in a rush to get it off my face and scrub it out of every surface it touched. Third, it doesn't work! They themselves concede in the page-long instructions that it frequently doesn't work on first try! I got the black and it turned my beard a kind of tinted grey/green. If this happens I'm supposed to use the additional bag but really, I have no interest in going through this again. Fourth, it's almost twice as expensive as Just For Men. I bought this because I developed an allergy to Just For Men as many people who buy this product... so far there is no allergy to this but it does not justify the cost. This is a rip off. Now for those who are persistent with this obviously "challenging" product and got it to work through some dexterous practice like learning to play a new musical instrument, I salute you. For the rest of us who do not have time to fidget around with smelly goo and powder, the search for alternatives continues.

A natural product that works
I began using JFM but have sensitive skin. I had slight burn after a few uses so decided to stop immediately. I looked at a few natural items and saw this brand available on Amazon. I initially used the dark brown. It didn’t work well. I was getting orange colour on my grey hairs and only lasting a couple of days. I was about to give up but thought I would try the black dye. This has worked great with no irritation. With this product, it took some practice and trial and error to get things the way I wanted. I have a relatively short beard (number 6 on my Remington beard trimmer) and I colour it every 5 days. It’s not as straight forward as chemical dyes but I have found it works just as well. The first thing to mention is that this does take longer. If you need the base then it can take up to an hour whereas the JFM only stayed on for 2 minutes. I find it best to use this around doing something else as opposed to just sitting around waiting to wash it off. The second thing to mention is that this does not work like chemical dyes. This will only colour what it is physically in contact with. Therefore, you have to make sure you cannot see any hair sticking out of the application. It has to be thick with the beard fully underneath the mixture. I find that my beard darkens immediately but continues to get darker over the next 8 hours. I don’t personally get any of the green or purple mentioned. This colour is a dark black and darker than my natural beard. There is no guarantee that the dye will work. You may need to use the base. The dye has not worked for me without the base. I have done some trial and error and I can mix my base in with the black and use it in one application. This is not how they recommend it is used but works for me and I half the time. It works better if you use the base and colour separately but I’m happy with the result and I prefer to have a few grey hairs here and there as it looks more natural. If I use separately then I can get 100% black beard. One of the great things about this compared to chemical products is that this does not colour your skin. I have no irritation at all. I previously had dry skin under my beard but using this product has meant I no longer have dry skin. It’s also worth noting that this product requires a lot less time on the beard than similar natural products which say they need to be on for anywhere between 4 hours to overnight. All in all very happy with this and I like that it is natural.
