High quality mod-job kit!
The switch is passing down from our 13.5 year old boy to our 4.5 year old girl for Xmas. He didn’t look after it too well and had a lot of scratches and his left joy con was drifting, the joy cons also weren’t securing to the switch as strong as they used to. Came across ExtremeRate products on Amazon and realised I would be able to do a complete re-shelling and fix up of the console to make it more girly too. I have little to no experience when it comes to things like this but I have never been too afraid to open things up and give things a try. First of all, I replaced the drifting joy stick, then I swapped out the plastic clips for metal ones before starting on re-shelling the joy cons themselves. It look a little bit of examining and playing about to figure out how it comes apart and goes back together, but it was not overly complex. The came the big job, the console itself. The new case came with a back shell but no front so I opted for white front shell to contrast the rear shell and component some of the white features of the new shell. I initially took apart the entire console, but for bit, mapping out the screws as I went along. I ensured I was meticulous and slow. After doing that I realised that I could have just separated the digitiser screen from the front shell to expose the screws and not dismantled it all. I made I few little mistakes putting it back together, nothing too worrying, so ending up closing and re-opening the console a few times but after some persistence and care I got there. The trickiest part was removing the digitiser, it’s pretty well stuck down and I also didn’t use heat to soften it up but I was gentle and careful. I think the end results speak for itself. It looks amazing and has added a whole new life to a 4 year old console. The warranty is long gone so there was no risk of losing that anyway. The replacement parts are all high quality, even down to the tiniest of screws. I have now ordered some Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut to top up the thermal paste on the heat sink (as it was starting to look a little dried up) just to be sure and keep the console as cool as possible, so one more open up and job done in time for Xmas. Would highly recommend these products! If I can do it, you can too.

You must do this!
Absolutely thrilled with this kit. Just installed it over the weekend and expected the worst to be honest, as my eyesight is not what it was and I'm not exactly known for my steady hand. However, with a bit of patience and forward thinking, not to mention a good clear space and very good lighting, this was largely trouble-free. I'd read all the reviews beforehand and bought a separate console disassembly kit as advised, which came with very useful spudgers and tweezers as well as the proper screwdrivers. It does add a cost to the price you pay for upgrade, but really, even factoring that in it's well worth it. The Switch now looks amazing and completely refreshed. By the end of it I'd surprised myself that I could do this and I think if I can, then I'm very sure you can too. It's not easy and I would advise patience at the trickier bits - I had particular fun with the ribbon cable for the trigger on the right joycon. But just take your time and keep thinking that teeny pesky ribbon WILL go back in! Proper tweezers are invaluable here, as is a good tutorial video on YouTube. I recommend the FetchingTech one since he talks you through most of it very well indeed. Once you've done it though you'll feel proper chuffed with yourself. I've now bought the SNES style dock shell to match and cannot wait to see it all done. Awesome, well made product that will absolutely put a smile on your face!

Good bar one issue
Well, this shell is great to work with, everything's within tolerance and fits perfectly together and over the Switch. The kit comes complete with everything you need to a reshell, including screws and every button. I'm giving it 4 stars however for 2 small problems of the same issue - the screw holes. 2 of the screw holes were not formed structural very well and stripped out the inner plastic. And no, I wasn't being heavy handed, and yes, I used the correct (new) screws. The core immediately started to strip out a thin reel of plastic, so the screw would not tighten. Luckily it was a simple fix of using a slightly oversized screw to cure the issue. Maybe it was just a bad shell.

Fab Kit!
Bf and I managed to refit the shell of my switch in a couple of hours. The tutorial is pretty easy to follow. The most important thing I would say is have patience and a delicate hand. The back shell is fairly straightforward, the joycons are a little tricker but manageable. The finished product looks like a genuine switch (doesn’t look shabby/ill-fitted). Plenty of spare screws and springs are provided and the screwdrivers work great. I would recommend having a pair of long, thin tweezers to help with the more intricate parts. I also wouldn’t fit this if your switch is still under warranty as it will because invalid. Overall, I would recommend and it’s a great product.

Looks AMAZING!!
After looking for cases for my Switch to customise the colour I came across these shells which I thought looked so much better than a bulky clip on case. After doing some digging and watching YouTube videos I thought I would give it a go to swap over my whole Switch body and change the buttons in the process. As a complete beginner in doing anything like this it took me a total of 6 hours and I’m sooo so pleased with how it turned out!! I purchased the whole shell set in Cherry Blossom Pink with the front shell separately along with white buttons from ExtremeRate and then white joycon sticks from Jeylly. The material is soo super soft I can’t believe how great the quality is, it’s definitely worth the price I think as it looks and feels like a professional finish. I would highly recommend these products to anyone thinking of changing over their Switch Shell and it was easy enough to do so too! Only advise is to purchase a better quality screwdriver set as the ones that come aren’t great and you have a higher chance of stripping the screws which you DO NOT want to do!! Over the moon with my purchase and can’t wait to show off my new switch to my sisters who I’m sure will want me to do theirs now!

The y screwdriver was totally rubbish and stripped my screw in the back and then broke the river
I tried to replace his back off my console and then realised I was putting the screwdriver into the back I realised it’s stripped the screw was turning the screw driver wouldn’t recommend the screwdriver kit to be honest we’re back plate rivits don’t really hold the screws and I’ve got one stuck at the bottom and now can’t get it out I wouldn’t recommend these to be honest with you the housing for the joy cons are good at the back plate wasn’t very wasn’t really happy with the outcome And now can’t get my switch repaired as don’t know anywhere that will do it now has replaced it

Looks lovely but is super fiddly!
Unless you fancy getting back ache and ptsd, I wouldn’t recommend this product. It is very tricky and super fragile to do your self, so you have to be careful. This was already hard enough but the tools in this kit weren’t great and mine wouldn’t screw together properly so made it all even more difficult. I used a video tutorial from YouTube which helped, but overall took me 2-3 hours by myself (not including various mental breakdowns in-between). Looks super cute, but I would NEVER do it again😂

Feels so good to hold now
The yellow is a beautiful colour. The feel is absolutely amazing. It feels soft and smooth, kind of like it would scratch easily with a fingernail, but it definitely doesn't scratch easily. The backplate is pretty simple to replace, but anyone that has replaced the covers for the joy-cons knows how much of a pain they can be, especially getting the ribbon cables back in properly. Thankfully I'd done this before to change the joysticks so knew what to expect. These covers though are amazing quality and I couldn't recommend them enough. I even ended up buying the dock cover as well so that it all matches because it really is beautiful like in this colour. The feel of the Switch now though is something else.
