8 oz culture of springtails in EZB mix, roughly 500+ springtails Review: Was afraid they would be dead or not survive transfer. - Got these a month ago and put them in my isopod tank. There were not a ton of them in the container so I was afraid they wouldn't do well but a month later I can say they took off well when I transferred them to my isopod terrarium. They are thriving now and I am very pleased with the purchase! Review: Two Batches of Dead Springtails - So far I have received two batches of dead springtails. The instructions which accompany the shipment say that adults may die in the heat during shipment but eggs will hatch new springtails. I kept the first shipment at room temperature in normal light and lifted the lid a couple of times a day. I also sprinkled a little brewer's yeast in the container in case any hatched and were hungry. Nothing hatched. I have now received a second batch of dead springtails. I can see their dead bodies littering the "dirt" they came in but nothing alive. There may be fertile eggs, I cannot tell. I see a couple of glistening orbs that might be eggs. The packaging and instructions were wet and blurred. The plastic container was crushed and probably leaked. It would say this seller needs better packaging for these creatures. An ice pack?

Springtails
Revised note. I am very happy I've got a butt loads of springtails. MY FAITH PAID OFF. At first I had only seen one springtail moving in the mix. I did not send back, I had to have faith they were there and maybe I just couldn't see them. The packaging was awesome with a warmer and instructions.

No sign of springtails live or dead. no visible eggs or food.
It looks as though there were never springtails in this substrate at all. I added a few grains of rice and we'll see if some eggs hatch. I'm not sure i'd be able to spot them if there are any in there. To be honest I knew it was not a good idea to order springtails on amazon but I'm putting this review here in hopes to discourage others from making the same mistake that I made.

Always had Great Experienced
I one time had problem with them but they resolved it quickly. If I need anything they have I rather get from them even there are lower price out there. Great quality they came all alive and healthy. Many Thanks!

No cold weather packing.
Well they got here alive. But there was no cold weather resistant packaging. There is also an additional pack if " something" that i don't know what it is or used for. No description of what that " something" is. I'm guess bedding with food in it? Other than that i'm waiting till they settle and warm up a bit before i put them in my terrarium.

Just because you don’t see it, doesn’t mean it isn’t there.
When my culture arrived it looked like there wasn’t really anything in it, maybe one or two guys running around. It has been over a month and I have a ridiculous amount of springtails now. Very happy with my purchase.

Not many Spring Tails
Packaging looked great with instructions and card. Only spotted three spring tails in container moving around. Wasn’t what I expected for the price.
