I have this one day and it is great. Just what I needed for my I pad prep 12.9. Very sturdy and can move in many positions and variable heights. Easy to assemble and only took 20 minutes if that to put together. Just make sure you take your time when screwing on bottom and do not strip the threads on the rod. Align the two pieces and go slow making sure they are right before tightens. I read that the rod was loose and did not work right however; the screw and threads were probably stripped. Believe me I have done that On many projects because of being in a hurry. Paul

- *EDIT* Updated Review - Ok, I made a mistake, this stand does have a way to tighten the limbs to prevent the stand from drooping. This stand is actually really nice now that my phone does not droop while recording. I will say if you need to adjust the arm alot, it is not the most ergonomic design but it will stay once you tighten all the joints. If you read this, don't make the same mistake I did! - Old Review - I was planning to use this stand to record some videos. The assembly was super easy and all the parts seemed to be of decent quality. The base had a good heft to it to prevent the stand from falling over. Unfortunately, once I clipped my phone on, the arm could not support my phone which defeated the whole purpose of the stand. They probably need to incorporate some sort of adjustable screw lock like a mic stand to hold the arm in place. The base should be heavy enough to support as is.

Heavy, tall and sturdy! It’s easy to get phone in and out of holder. The 3 joints make the adjustability good, except the lower two joints don’t ‘hold’ so adjustments are tricky. I purchased it to hold phone while video conferencing but have now been using it on the floor, next to couch so I don’t ever have to hold my phone. This is better body alignment AND my cats doesn’t knock it to the floor. I can’t comment on price because I don’t know how long it will last. ( The part that holds the phone broke on my last stand which inspired this purchase.) I’m ordering another one for my MIL (she tried mine and liked it by couch too.) so I hope it is quality.

This is heavy and sturdily built. I wanted to free up some desk space and use a tablet as a second monitor. I also wanted to be able to use this for some animation stuff. It’s great for a monitor stand although if you turn the tablet vertically it begins to slide out. Mine is in a silicone bumper case and it still slides. Also, this thing has a pretty high minimum height for use as a primary seated monitor stand. It would be nice if this product had a couple of different sized telescoping vertical pipes so you could choose the base minimum height or even use it as a floor stand.

i really like this product, it holds my iphone 14 plus without tipping over which is really great. but the only negative is that it does kind of take up a lot of space on my table but that’s it. & it will come with a phone holder & a tablet holder which is helpful if you want to record off of a phone or a tablet.

Don’t get it, 1. It’s stupid overpriced making you think the quality is good 2. It doesn’t even support itself, it tilts on a totally flat surface holding a basic ipad or phone. 3. The arm swings in circles and isn’t steady, it’s frustrating when it’s spinning in circles and you’re trying to catch it because it doesn’t lock in place and the slightest gravity makes it swing. 4. The adjuster doesn’t lock in place at all, you have to pull it hard to get it stay in place for a while, and it’s super sensitive if you touch it the adjuster sliders back down and the rod supporting it hits into the base. 5. There are no locks to keep it steady, it loses balance, and isn’t sturdy, AND it’s more costly than the rest. 6. I owned a cheaper tripod for my phone and ipad that was half this price, and it worked much better. Save your money, choose something else.

Wow! It is certainly well made. Almost to well made. It works great. two things wold make this perfect: 1. Springs are to strong for clamps. So you are sure your iPhone is not going anywhere. It just takes some strength to place your iPhone in it. 2. Instead of a special tool, may be something more innovative to adjust screws when needed Other then that I absolutely love it. Improve the two above 6 stars.

I got this phone stand so I can do top-down video demonstrations using my iPhone. I've though about getting a document camera, but this seemed like an less expensive alternative to try out. This product has gotten a lot of good reviews, and I even saw a YouTube review that, even though it's significantly more expensive than other products, showed that it was made well. I got it today and I have been working with it, so lets look at the good, the not-so-good, and the (unfortunately) ugly aspects of the product. The Good Like I said, it's *mostly* metal components, so it is very sturdy. The heavy steel base should support any phone without issue. The aluminum arms and pivot points are all adjustable and can be made tight and stable using the included hex wrench. The stand has a sturdy central post that can extend up to 45cm (22 in), a good height. It's lowest height is about 34cm (14 in), so that's good, too. The arms themselves are made up pf aluminum rectangular tubing and cast aluminum pivot points. The adjusting screws are high-grade aluminum and shouldn't break or slip. They are seated in plastic caps that cause friction to hold the arm in place when tightened. So far so good. The Not-So-Good When assembling it, I noticed that two of the tightening screws were on one side, and one, the "elbow." if you will, was on the other. I planned to have it on my left, with the arm hanging left to right. Two screws faced me, one faced away. Why would they do this? Adjusting it made it unnecessarily fidgety, as I had to move the arm around to tighten the back screw on the "elbow" when adjusting it. Because I'm a DIYer, I eventually fixed this by removing the "elbow" screws and sockets and flipping them so that the hex socket faced me, making all the hex screws adjustable from the front side. It was easy to do, just unscrew the screw and retaining bolt, and the metal and plastic parts remove easily from the joint, allowing you to switch the orientation, making it *far* more easy to adjust the arm. At the "wrist" of stand is a grey plastic band, and they show it as a rotational point. It is, however, incredibly tight, so tight I was worried that rotating my phone might actually break the plastic phone holder (more on that later). Again, I took the "wrist" pivot apart, just like the "elbow," and there is a screw holding the wrist in place. the screw was incredibly tight. Using a smaller hex wrench, I managed to loosen it a bit, thus allowing the "wrist" to rotate more easily while still being able to hold its orientation without slipping. It may loosen over time, but it's a simple matter to retighten it. Lastly, the "forearm" of the stand is, in my opinion, too short. I really wish it were another 4 inches of so longer, so I can get my work further away from the base. From pivot to pivot, it's only a measly 16cm (6 in). It would be great if it were something like 25cm (10 in). Even better, make it so it's in two pieces so it could be extensible so you could adjust the arm horizontally. Since it's only rectangular aluminum tube, I may look into making a longer one myself. And the Ugly Overall the build on this is pretty darn good. That is until you come to the phone holder. This is the worst phone holder for this product. It's so bad I would expect a phone holder like this on a $10 selfie stick. It's somewhat sturdy *plastic*, which in itself is disappointing after the mostly metal construction of the rest of the piece. It's not tall enough, and doesn't make a lot of contact with the phone. The jaws that grip the phone are barely 25mm (just over an inch), and the rubber gripping surface is less, just 20mm (3/4 in)! To put your phone in, one of the jaws slides open with the weakest of springs. I am using an iPhone 13 to do the recording, a big phone, and I feel like the phone holder can barely manage to hold it securely. This very well-built, metal stand is virtually negated by the cheap, plastic phone holder. It also came with a tablet holder, which feels even more cheaply made, but it has decently wide side grips, though the springs are still very weak. Really, really disappointing. I'm going to see if I can find a better phone holder to replace the one that came with it, because the stand itself is pretty good. I'll try it out for a week or so, and if it works ok, I'll probably keep it, though I'll keep an eye out to replace the phone holder.
