Leak/spill proof, top shelf dishwasher safe,
Purchased for home/office situations where distractions of an hour or more turn hot drinks cold. It's done a marvellous job at keeping drinks piping hot for up to around 2 hours so far. Moustache hair pinching is a concern, but I have spares so it's fine. A few small drips will likely collect in the top when the button is released after a drink, this should be slurped up or shaken out and is not an indication of a leak.

Much improved
I had the same make of cup years ago, but the lid got broken. This one is a better shape and the lock button seems more sturdy. I also like the dip down to the outlet hole, so any excess fluid flows straight back. They've definitely improved on the last one I had. I'm thinking of buying another one as a spare. Oh, and no leakage at all. I had it bouncing around in my back pack for a few hours today. Perfect and stull hot/ warm enough to drink my tea.

A very nice flask, but not quite as effective as the West Loop
I bought this not to replace, but to compliment the stainless-steel West Loop that I’ve been using for about 4 years now. As a very regular coffee drinker, my old flask has been everywhere with me in that time and had gotten a little worse for wear. It now leaks slightly at the lid when not kept upright, due to a dent it sustained in a heavy drop. I was always blown away by the ability of the West Loop to keep coffee hot for so long. I will often buy or make a cup of coffee, then take several hours to drink it as I’m constantly distracted. With my old West Loop, I consistently get 4+ hours of heat retention. I can make myself a cup of coffee at lunch time and end up finishing it off on my way home after 5pm, at which point it’s still warm enough to drink. But this is a review about the Luxe, so what’s the difference and why have I only given it 4 stars? Well, it’s the lid. On the West Loop, the lid is entirely plastic, and plastic is a very good insulator. On the Luxe, the lid is partially stainless-steel, and this has the effect of conducting heat out of the flask into the surrounding environment. If the lid is in contact with the liquid (for example, when it’s lying on its side in a backpack) you can actually feel the heat transferring to the lid and it’ll be warm, whilst the double walled body of the container is still cool to the touch. This happened with the plastic lid of the West Loop as well, but not to anywhere near the same extent. In the real world, this seems to knock the heat retention time of the Luxe down by about 60-90 minutes depending on use and environment. I’m not saying it’s a bad flask, far from it. The Luxe has a much sleeker design than the West Loop, and I actually think the new profile of the lid is an improvement that makes it easier to drink from on the go. The auto seal lock has a much more positive “click” as well compared to my 4-year-old West Loop, although that might be due to age related wear and tear rather than a change in the design. All in all, I really like both of them, and the Luxe will still replace the West Loop as my on the go flask for carrying hot drinks. But if you want to keep your drink hot for as long as possible, the trusty West Loop is undoubtedly the better option.

Good Simple Design
Good design. Much simpler and easier to clean than the Westloop design with its double mechanism that is difficult to clean. This is similiar to the original Contigo with the round hole seal. Less likely to move or warp or trap debris. Why it should be more expensive I don't know, but worth it.

The ideal travel mug
I have had a few of the Contigo travel mugs and I love them. I choose this one as the other colours overtime tend to peal away. This one is the larger side and I love it, they hot drinks stay hot for a few hours and if you are traveling in the car it is fantastic as it fits in the cup holders and you have a drink that stays hot for the trip

Take their claims of staying hot with a pinch of salt. They vastly overestimate it.
the ad claims 'drinks stay hot up to 5 hours'. Nope, they don't. Unless they are using the word hot to mean anything over room temp? I like my coffee hot. My last cup (from Clas Olsen) kept coffee lip burning hot for a couple of hours. The contigo? Maybe up to an hour Hot, on a good day. The following hour warm enough to drink but not great, then after that tepid, and those are times with it used indoors in a relatively warm environment. Outside would expect considerable worse performance. You know almost immediately you use the cup that it is not going to fare well at keeping the heat in as the metal top gets hot in the time it takes to walk to another room after making a coffee in it. That much heat on the outside of the cup being cooled by the outside temps makes for a bad performing thermal cup. All that said, The fact it is spill proof saves this cup for me and keeps it in use. Knowing the drink will not stay hot for too long, while disappointing, it is still better than the tuts and angry voices of my partner when I knock a 'non spill proof' cup over on the carpet. Ease of use is great. Press the button to drink, release and it seals. you cannot really get better than that in functionality terms. I cannot fault the spill proof aspect, it is really very good at keeping liquid in. So while it's thermal properties are not great, it's angry woman deflection capabilities are second to none. The pressure relief (air intake) points away from your face (making a quick pish noise when you press the button) faces away from you, so no hot drops of steamy coffee in your face (in the first half of the hour at least). The hole for the drinking out of is quite deep. That isn't the best thing as it means when you tip it you need it enough to kind of overcome the depth to drink it. It is hard to explain, but it is a little counter intuitive and makes this a cup you need to get used to rather than an instant 'yeah baby, this is the cup to have'. The button lock is a welcome addition to the mix. It is very firm. You 'could' throw this cup in a bag with the button locked (if you are the kind of person who may want or need to do that) and be pretty confident it is not going to lose any liquid. So to sum up. It isn't the best cup to drink from. It doesn't keep coffee hot for anywhere near long enough. You can knock it over knowing you won't be getting a sulky or stroppy lecture (unlike the one I will likely get for actually writing that). If the need for keeping temps high is your reason for looking at this cup, look elsewhere, if you want an easy to use spill proof cup that will keep a drink at a decent heat level for an hour? then this could be it. Also worth noting, for some reason, the pale blue cup (they call it cornflower, and I had to go look for that info, but being a guy, it's pale blue, it's a man rule) was a few UK pounds cheaper than the other colours, so if colour doesn't matter to you then check the prices on all of them before buying.

Best one yet
I’ve purchased many coffee travel mugs over the years even recently and the last one just fell apart. So I did some research into best travel mugs out there. This was rated around 9.6 out of 10 and I can understand why. What I like about it is it’s got nothing in ur face when u drink like my last one which was very annoying, it also has a safety lock on the top when not in use, good for storing in bag so it won’t leak or pop open which with my other ones they did. The design is flawless and sturdy. I was reluctant to pay the asking price for it but once received I’m glad I did. If u can look past the price and want a decent travel mug then this is the one to buy. A+

Expensive but effective
Love these mugs but they are very expensive. I bought some in Costco years ago at half the price. They wash well in the dishwasher but they do loose the colour layer after a couple of years of dishwasher use; the stainless steel underneath the colour layer is also nice and smooth; they are quite durable. They keep my tea hot for a couple of hours and they fit in most cup holders quite well. They hold about 1.5 cup. I have never used them for cold liquids, just tea. Once my husband used one for his coffee and I could smell the coffee later on. Smell went away after a couple of washes.

Perfekt
