This vacuum has been a game changer! When my husband decided to get an aquarium, I thought it was a wise idea to get my own. Little did I know how much goes into fish keeping. We eventually upgraded to 55 gallon tanks & the water changes were a lot of work. This works great to vacuum, although larger gravel does tend to get stuck. I ended up switching to fine sand & it has been easy to vacuum. Now we are able to do vacuuming on maintenance weeks instead of having to refill since it recycles the water into the tank. We also use it to pump water from the 5 gallon buckets that we fill & set on the floor into the tank, instead of having to lift the buckets up & dump. My husband is able to clean & do 75% water changes on both over 55 gallons in under 45 minutes now. Have been it for about 7 months now. One time the motor seemed to be going but my husband took it apart, fooled around with it & it was like new. Very easy to clean it, also. Highly recommend.

Honestly I wish I didnt waste my time. I ordered this and it arrived quickly. I followed the directions, however, water shot out of the handle like a fountain when using the 3way attachment with the return filter. I plugged in the hose to the handle and it leaked so severely that my floors were soaking. Since the handle isnt supposed to leak, especially during 3way use, I contacted the company 3 different ways. Could not reach the company for assistance. So I did my research and found that, oh no, I had definitely assembled it correctly. Mine was just defective. So I returned it and got a replacement. It's clear that the original 3way piece was damaged and wasnt supposed to let any water through the handle at all when installed. Okay good to know. The replacement with the new 3way was perfect. The sand attachment is missing its sponge. Annoying but with all the effort I have gone through, I can get a sponge and cut it to size to use. I trialed the new replacement and it worked GREAT! .... For about 5minutes before the motor stopped working. Now should I get yet another replacement? Should I attempt to contact the company 3+ more ways just to be ignored? Probably not. Honestly great idea, great product plan. Poor execution. Poor quality assurance team. Poor manufacturing materials. And poor customer service (Great marketing team who swears I'll get a response back some time before Never. While showing a perfectly working product that probably only they have.) Also, I'd like to add that when it was working (albeit spraying fish water all over my room), I noticed the cord was designed quite poorly as well. The on/off switch is at the end of the cord, close to where it plugged in to the wall. This means if you're outlet is further away then your wingspan you have a terrible time shutting it off by yourself or need another competent being to turn it on/off for you. I didnt have the pleasure of using it long enough to determine if how easy or difficult it is to disassemble for cleaning, or removing the sometimes-there-sometimes-not-included sponges. If Amazon could stop giving Errors, I would upload some photos. Ill keep trying.

I bought this vacuum based off a few video reviews I had seen on YouTube. I was looking for something that I could use as an all in one for tank maintenance and this was exactly that. The pump has some good power behind it, and it moves a good amount of water. In just a couple minutes I had cleaned my 75 gallon. I wish the cord was slightly longer, but I can just use an extension cord in a pinch if need be. That being said, the multiple ways to use this more than make up for the short cord. When I bought this I happened to be missing the outflow attachment. Amazon support was no help so I reached out to Hygger directly through their website. They were extremely helpful and had the missing piece sent out immediately!

The device seems to have a design flaw in where the pump stator moves and hits the side of the motor housing stopping water flow. Not a hard fix but should not be necessary. It has very good flow easy to set up the extra tube is nice as I have multiple size tanks

I was looking to make water changes and substrate vacuuming easier, and tgis definitely does. I also wanted to use it to refill tank water after a change, but its not super strong and has a bit of trouble getting water up instead of down. I put my bucket on a chair and that sorted it though. Still keeping it, much easier than even the hand pumps.

DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!!! No matter who reviews it on YouTube, do not buy this. If I could leave 0 stars, I would. Used this a couple times, threw the box out, so I can'treturn it. First time, worked great, second time not as good. Third time it won't pick anything up. It sucks up garbage, gets stuck at filters, and drops it back in the tank when you shut it off. Constant clogs and cleaning machine out just to continue. Absolute trash!!!

It was great when it worked. Bought on April 10 and today June 14th stopped working. Motor not running. Was wonderful to use for water changes and cleaning gravel but did not last. Should have went with a python.

This pump works great for my 20 gallon tank, I'm able to do water changes in about half the time it normally takes me. I did seem to get a faulty pump first, as it stopped working after 2 months of using it once a week. I contacted the seller and they assisted me right away and sent me a new one. I received the new pump within 2 days of contacting and showing them that the pump did not work. This will be a game changer for my 65 gallon tank when I set it up and I highly recommend it!

Junk. Absolute garbage. Stopped working within 5 minutes. No instructions how to pull the casing on the pump apart and when I did , it was not blocked by much. Stopped working within a minute of cleaning. Dont buy this. Furthermore, the company expects you to pay to return their garbage.

Fonctionne bien mais le moteur est très encombrant et empêche de bien circuler entre les éléments du décor de l’aquarium. Par ailleurs, le tube d’évacuation ne se clippe pas et risque de partir s’il n’est pas enfoncé correctement

super for water change. but i have sand..REAL SAND... so the magnetic frag in my sand stick to the magnetic palm so you got to be power carefull but for someone whit treated aquarium sand there no problem if i siphon sand by mistake i get rid of water but paying attention to not throw the sand and when i fill back i suck the sand in the bucket and it return were it came from . if you got lot of plant and branches don't expect to go stick your siphon on leaf and soil there is no way that work whitout sucking all your skape in a gagantic mess loll!!! but it is not because of the siphon ;).if you really want to get rid of waste; take a juice pear for the meat push it around in all the aquarium to make the particule lift off and suck whit the vaccum i got the best result that way. and be carefull for the shrimp one of mine got stock in the thing lolll because i was too anthousiastic whit it because this thing is powerfull!
