PVC Light Blockers for Blinds - Block Light Along The Sides of Blackout Blinds Great for Bedroom, Light Blocking Strips for Windows Shades (2pcs, for Blinds Sides, White, 58.5")

I ordered 3 sets and each came in its own huge empty box for some reason. Installation was super easy, very easy to trim to size. The adhesion works quite well and the item itself looks quite subtle on the window. We have them installed with inside mount roman shades. However, it is not opaque as described. Let's light through very clearly and so defeats the whole purpose. Reduced the edge halo of light about 60% which isn't nothing but considering their price tag and description I expected them to at least block 100% of light through the actual item. Oh well, back to the drawing board.

I recently hung a new blackout cellular shade to a bedroom window. This is an outside mount so the shade is in front of the window frame. The way the brackets work on the ones I bought, the shade hangs about a half inch in front of the window frame so there was a lot of light leaking in around the sides. I bought these light blockers to cover that gap. They are certainly sturdy and the adhesive is very mighty - I will NEVER be able to take these off without ripping the paint off the window frame. But they are a failure as the plastic they are made of is not opaque. Light shines through them. They are translucent. They do not BLOCK light - they only diffuse it a little. My bad for assuming that a product called a "Light Blocker" would, ... well, ... block light. I should have tested them for transparency before mounting. Now I have non-light blocking strips forever attached to my window frame so I can't even replace them with something that works. I may line them with electrical tape or duct tape to make them actually block light, but that will be tough to do and not look tacky. Do not buy these if you want darkness.

The blockers are white so light shines through. Just maybe dims it a bit. If you’re looking for blackout, look elsewhere. Disappointed, I really wanted these to work.

These are easy to install, and they blend in with my white trim; however, the light still comes through the sheer white panels to a large extent, so I still wake up at sunrise. Painting them black might help, but they would stand out and be unattractive.

It is not wide enough to cover both sides of the window.

They’re easy to cut to size and put on the window but they’re so translucent that sun still comes through. I was trying to avoid spending $20 more on the other ones that Amazon sells but those work much better because they’re solid white and black on the inside which stops the light from coming through.

These strips blocked very little light. I posted two pictures, one with the strip in place and one without. You will notice very little difference, if any.
