BAOMAIN 110V AC 4-Pole 50A Modular Contactor, 4NO, DIN Rail Mount | HC1-50 4P BCT-50 4P 50Amp 4 Normally Open AC110V Contactor For HVAC,Motor,Pump,and Lighting Control

I bought this contactor to allow me to control the power to my hot tub using a simple digital plug timer. I wired up the contactor main power lugs between the main panel 50A fuse and the hot tub GFCI remote shutoff switch on the wall near the hot tub. I wired a 120VAC plug from the digital timer outlet to the contactor control, and it is working wonderfully. I have the timer set to turn off power during the high billing rate time of use, so it only runs the pump and heater in the off-peak times. One disadvantage of this scheme is that the hot tub controller always resets to default 100degF temperature daily. So, you cannot turn down the temperature to 80 or 90 and save on heating. This is an older hot tub and does not have a programmable timer/controller that may allow for time-of-use electricity billing optimization. This contactor solution worked well for me.
