Very Comfortable and Lightweight
Size: 7 Bought for: extra pair of shoes for Portugal travel in April/May. Features Important to Me: lightweight, stable walking on wet or slippery surfaces, possible “evening” shoe, roomy shoebox for my wide feet. These look and feel great! They’re a little narrower than I expected but loosening the elastic laces helped and the snugger fit felt like a second skin instead of a shoe. I wore them around all day and found them exceptionally comfortable and look forward to wearing them on my trip!

perfect for Costa Rica!
I've been a Keen lover/wearer for a long time and truly love this brand, but I think my Whispers may be my favorite pair yet. I bought this as an "upgrade" from my Newport H2s and these are SO much better. I love that the neoprene stretches in the bit around your ankle - this made them wearable right out of the box with no break-in period and ZERO blisters. They are ridiculously light weight - much lighter than my Newports - but really sturdy and durable. I wore them on a recent trip to Costa Rica and they were the perfect shoe for all of the wet/dry activities I did, like white-water river rafting, light hiking, swimming, rappelling, sailing, walking around town, etc. They dry quickly and don't get stinky (but if they did you can throw them in the washing machine with your laundry). I'll also note that I have arthritis in my feet - specifically my big toe joint - and these were always comfy and supportive. I could keep going with no pain, which was awesome. If my feet swelled, it was easy to loosen up the lacing system. On top of all that, I got complements on them - they're pretty cute. These are more narrow and girly than the Newports. I love them so much I bought a second pair. I highly recommend these - they're great for adventures and anytime you might get your feet wet - they're also really comfortable and a great all-around sandal for warm weather. For me they run pretty true to size (I wear a 6 1/2 in other shoes and these), but I know that a lot of people like to get them a 1/2 size bigger.

Great birthday gift for my wife
I got these for my wife for her birthday, and they were a great choice. She really liked them, and they seem very comfortable right out of the box. The closed-toe design is nice for extra protection, and they still feel lightweight and practical for walking, travel, or outdoor use. They look good, feel well made, and are a nice mix of comfort and function. A really good option if you want a sandal that is supportive, versatile, and gift-worthy.

A solid, functional sandal for hitting the trail
The summer hiking season in the Pacific Northwest means gorgeous trails with stunning views, slippery rocks, steep inclines, and variable weather. My feet are a problem: they're exceptionally flat, and my left foot is slightly larger than the right. I need a shoe that supports my foot, protects my toes from rocks, and provides traction so I can make it up (and down) muddy terrain. Keen boots spared me a lot of agony during their Gortex glory days, but since they started tailoring shoes to look pretty (as opposed to durability) they haven't helped me on the trail. However, I continue to have faith in their sandals. I ordered a pair in my standard size, without sizing up (that's 8.5 for me) which turned out to be a wise decision; a larger size would have left my toes smashing into the front of the toe bed, or my heel slipping. These fit perfect. Out of the box, the Keen Whisper seemed less rugged than the Newport line, with thread already fraying a bit on one side. The toe protection was still there, but not as much as the Newport. What the Whisper offers that's different is flexibility; it might be less stable on a flat hiking trail, but easier to scramble up a creek bed. They also seemed more versatile, thanks to less bulk. I tested them in earnest on the Trail of Ten Falls in Silver Falls State Park in Oregon. The weather that day varied between 60 and 80 degrees, and the mist from waterfalls created an exceptionally slippery environment. In the six miles I hiked that day I never slid or slipped, and my feet didn't suffer either. I ended the day without any blistering or redness, and kinda feeling like I could wear the shoes forever. If you have a flat foot that requires a sandal that holds your foot in place, this is an excellent option. If you're looking for fashion of have perfect arches, I'd look elsewhere.

The BEST Rugged Outdoor Sandals
First off, it’s worth mentioning that due to a sports accident long ago, EVERY pair of footwear I buy automatically needs $70 worth of orthotic “surgery” before I can even wear them. So obviously, with that added expense, I need to be sure all and every pair of new shoes will be durable and last at least several years. Besides that, they’ll need to be comfortable from the start—I can’t risk putting that extra money into a shoe that will never become comfortable or might cause blisters. Fortunately, Keen sandals are both durable and never have caused any distressing issues, so I can be confident that they will fit well and also last for many years of rugged use. Thesis style is always true to size and super comfy. (I adore them and no, this is not my first pair!) Besides that, I LOVE the color of this pair—they’re cheery enough to wear on a daily basis with casual slacks or skirts. (It feels silly to worry about getting them muddy should I sometimes decide to wear them while mowing the lawn or gardening since mud and muck always wash off easily with a quick spray with a garden hose.) I also wear them when kayaking, as they provide stable footing and won’t slip on mud or slimy rocks as you’re entering the boat in the water. Besides that, these sandals always dry out quickly so you’ll not have wet feet while waiting for hours for them to dry out. Simply put—I adore these sandals and will likely buy another pair sometime soon. (Yes, I’ve had another pair for about six or seven years that by now are fairly tattered, yet still wear them from time to time when doing really messy tasks. After three or so years I started popping them into the washing machine with jeans and heavier fabrics, making them look brand new without any evident wear or damage to the sandals or the other laundry. That’s a win-win if you have stinky feet. 🤣) So it’s a two thumbs up review for these fantastic sandals (or should that be “two big toes up” review? 8^) If you’re strategic about purchasing them off season, you also likely to find discounted pricing on their less popular colors or styles!

Picked the Whispers over the Newports, and here's why...
UPDATE: I've had these shoes for a little over a year, and the stitching has started to come undone on the side. However, it is easily repairable, and the rest of the shoe is in great condition; so, I still highly recommend them! ORIGINAL POST: First, I'll say that I absolutely love these shoes! As my husband and I were planning our honeymoon in Hawaii, we knew that we were going to need some good water shoes. I'm more of a sandal girl myself; so, I ordered both the Whispers and the Newport H2s, and here's what I found... The Whispers ran truer to size than the Newports. I order my regular size in the Whispers, which fit perfectly, but I needed about a full size bigger on the Newports. (Not a deal breaker, but just something to note.) The Whispers have a significantly nicer feel to them, but they do run a bit narrow; so, if you have wider feet, you likely want to go with the Newports, regardless of size. However, while the Newports are wider and are definitely a more rugged shoe with a bigger toe bumper, that also makes them a bit heavier and they tend to clomp a bit more. Depending on how you're looking to use them, this might be what you need, but for me just walking and hiking around Hawaii, the Whispers did just fine. I will note that on the beaches, especially the pebbly ones, the sand did get stuck in the Whispers a bit, but my guess is that would've happened even more with the Newports as the latter have the bigger toe bumper where sand likely would've gotten stuck. As far as arch support, the Whispers have good support, but the Newports definitely had a better insole. However, it also made the Newports a bit tighter on the top, almost like they didn't fully account for the arch, which wasn't unbearable, but again, something to note when choosing what size to order. For me, the arch support was still more than sufficient in the Whispers, and my feet never felt too tired walking around in them for hours. I've also heard comments that the back of the straps on Keens get stretched out after time; so, I also liked that the Whispers were reinforced with ribbon around the back too. It also added a cute accent to the design, making them not only a good water sandal, but also a cute all-around nice shoe. They were so comfortable that I ended up wearing them even when I knew we weren't going to be getting our feet wet. So, after walking around the house in them for about 1-2 days each, I ultimately went with the Whispers, and I'm very glad that I did. The fit was comfortable, they weren't too bulky, and they did exactly what I wanted them to do, which was mainly protect my feet as we explored rainforests, beaches, and other fun sites. I'll try to give an update once I've had them a bit longer, but after two weeks of wearing these almost exclusively in Hawaii, I can say that I'm very happy with them and would highly recommend them to anyone!

Highly recommend for hot and humid climates. Fit wide feet better than other brands.
Bought these as a gift for my mom for her birthday to use on our trip to Costa Rica. They were perfect! She did all of the excursions in these! Waterfall tour, off roading tour, and of course, hiking. I also ordered the identical pair for myself. I have wide feet and some of the off brand ones I ordered were too narrow and would hurt my baby toe. This pair did not. It had a slightly wider fit in the toes which made it comfortable for walking a lot. I highly recommend these.

WOW, I RARELY Have Any Shoe Fit This Well Immediately!
When I ordered these, I had memories of trying on the Newport women's shoes and having them fit terribly several summers ago. It took me a long time to find some Keens that I wanted to wear, and then I had to go to men's size 9. Even then, breaking them in was frustrating and I didn't wear them for a year. Two pair of Newports later (men's), I thought I must be nuts to be willing to try the Whisper in Women's sizes. After all of the reviews, I decided to try. HOW DO THESE COMPARE TO NEWPORTS --First of all, these fit perfectly- and I mean PERFECTLY. They are not at all like my bad experiences with the women's Newports in the past. --Secondly, the color is spectacular. On my screen it looks like a neon seafoam green. In real life, the same! --Lighter weight. These are much easier and less clunky to walk around in. The toe is not nearly as full coverage as Newport, but it does not affect protection. --Heel higher, sole thinner. Although it sounds scarier than it is, the heel is slightly elevated as compared to the Newports. The sole is thinner and not quite as bouncy, but great to wear all day. --No break in period. I wore these all day the first day and once I got past a slight burning in the bottom of my feet for the first hour, the shoes were fine and I did not even notice I had them on. FINAL COMMENTS I am SO happy with the Whisper shoes (I got Greenbriar/Neutral Gray). The color is fantastic, the shoe hugs my foot and no sore spots at all. They dry very quickly too, by the way. I find that they are more streamlined to my foot and easier to walk around in tight spaces with. The Newports I tend to hit my toe sometimes which is more annoying and not at all painful. I am so impressed by these shoes I had to right a review to let you all know- I am SO glad I didn't pass these up. I almost walked away after all of the problems I had fitting Keens in women's before. I bought 10.5 and it fit perfectly. My shoe size is usually fine in a larger ten, but too small for an 11.

Walking sandals
I ordered a half size bigger because of problems I had with cheaper models. I am sure my normal size would have been ample. They are great

Great for walking.
Not the most attractive but so comfortable you forget you've got them on and great for walking as they offer toe protection and you can get them wet. I have wide feet that are not easily pleased but I'm very happy with these and great to find in a half size making the perfect fit for me.

La misma medida de siempre
Tengo tiempo comprando esta marca y conozco la calidad y mi medida. Por algunos comentarios dudaba en que los tamaños fueran los mismos pero siguen siendo los mismos. Comprobado! Muy lindos!
