The graphic is visually stunning, but it falls short in detail. The countries blend together, making it difficult to distinguish one from another. With a bit more clarity, it could truly be exceptional.

This is a pretty nice planet Earth "marble". The transparent blue is a fine representation of the world's oceans and, as you can see in the photos, appears differently as the light changes and the inverted, outdoor images shift as they are viewed through the globe. The glass marble has no visible flaws. Unfortunately, though, it was out of its fitted, presentation box and rolling around in the poorly packed ( standard procedure in my experience) Fulfillment Center box where it banged into the wire dish-racks, in the same box, numerous times, I imagine, during shipping. Thus, the continents were a wee bit scratched in places. Anyway, I selected the gold continents globe to match the gold dragon, that was holding a 50mm prism. The globe is much larger, thus, it was necessary to modify the dragon's tail and claws, via a hacksaw blade, a small file and gold touch-up paint, in order to nest the Earth marble securely on the dragon's claws. This globe gets 4-stars because the continents are not a part of the glass, but rather some sort of "decals" that are stuck onto the surface. Whether or not they will eventually fade in the direct sunlight and/or peel off remains to be seen. Is it worth the cost? Well, it was the only Earth Globe that I've found, so far, that's close to what I'd like, though a blown-glass version of the same size or somewhat smaller, sans stickers for continents, is still on my preferred list, should I ever chance to find one.

Amazing quality and the colors are so vibrant! I have had this for close to 6 months and there has been no fading of colors or any chipping of colors. This is a beautiful piece to add to your collection. I would definitely buy this again!
