I have been postponing buying new knives because I really wanted some good quality knives but not the break the bank kind of knives! I have bought knife sets dozens of times, received them as gifts etc. you know the ones that come in their own knife block. My experience is that the block is usually worth more than the knives. I have purchased electric knife sharpeners, stones etc. and yet they never seem to hold an edge for very long.THESE knives however, are very good quality, I was fortunate enough to find them at a reduced price and I am VERY happy with them. They are RAZOR sharp however so be careful! I sliced my finger tip just washing them!!! They are a little bit lighter weight than I would prefer but at 73 my hands aren’t what they use to be so I think overall they are perfect for me.They came well packaged, with extensive care pamphlet. I have been using them daily for about two weeks now and actually enjoying cooking again. Amazing what a good sharp knife can do!

There are two countries that are known for their knives in the world. Japan and Germany. This German brand has all price levels. This knife set has a good sweet spot and provides the biggest bang for your buck. The handles are solid (admittedly there are Zwilling knives with better handles) and the blades are fantastic. They are extremely sharp and stay that way for a long time. Just learn how to use a honing steel and these knives will last you more than a decade. Have them sharpened every 4-5 years and they can easily last 20 years or more…

I purchased this set at an excellent price and am very happy with them. They are well made, very sharp, well balanced, and comfortable in the hand. I thought it came with a molded holder, but guess not. Still very happy with this purchase.

I was hoping these would be razor sharp but they are not. Generally good and OK, the right quality for the price. Not impressed with the minor metal stains on the blades. These have never been put in the dishwasher. OK overall but not a great item for this German name brand.

I researched a lot of knives and opted for the quality and durability of traditional German design. The knives are well balanced, comfortable to hold and hold their edge well. I hone them every couple of weeks just to keep them razor sharp. With proper care (hand wash, dry immediately, protect edges when not in use) I know these knives will last a lifetime.

Bought these as a birthday gift for my husband. He enjoys cooking, but we've never had decent knives. We've always used low-quality knives from Wal-Mart and IKEA. I felt it was time for an upgrade. This Zwilling knife set includes three essential knives for any kitchen. They're sharp, and they seem to be of good quality. They're also labeled as dishwasher-safe, but we plan to wash them by hand as much as possible. Seems as though they will last quite a while as long as they're well cared for. He loves them so far.Tip: This may go without saying, but adjust your confidence level if you've never owned sharp, semi-professional knives. Take your time when chopping and cutting until you get used to the sharpness. My husband nicked himself when he was testing them out without even noticing.
