Excellent quality and a very fair price
This is a high quality knife, I have 2 knives I paid twice this much for and do not meet this level of quality. Comes sharp as a razor right out if the box. Even the sheath is excellent. Very thick leather and sewn with tight stitching. The knife fits perfectly and looks great too. The knife and sheath is a tool that will be handed down to my son and I do not doubt my grandson. I have not used the ferro rod but I think it is a nice touch for an Adventure Knife. What amazes me is the price. After seeing and using this knife I can highly recommend it without reservation. If you're looking for a outdoor camping, hunting, fishing, bushcraft, adventure knife that will last a life time give this one a try. I don't think you'll be disappointed.

Great value
This is my second knife from this company. The quality of this knife is surprisingly high again. Ergonomics and durability is what I've paid three times as much for on other knives. The blade is perfectly straight to the human eye, very sharp, and is cut at a perfect angle. The quality & fit of the sheath has a drain hole and buyers will also be impressed as it looks like top grain leather and the stitching is beautiful. The striker and knife fit snugly and this design will float on the belt, and help to prevent broken ribs, in situations like the wearer is leaning on a tree and slipping on dry grass. To top it all off, there are holes for Ranger Assist (Dummy) Cords. Great price and no extra charge for shipping. I plan to buy more and keep as gifts for grandchildren. Gotta go put mink oil on the sheath.

Great Quality at a great price.
This is an awesome knife kit! Sharp, durable and includes a great leather sheath that is worth the price be itself. (But don't tell BPS Knifes)

Great Buschcraft knife for the money.
I have a few Scandi Grind knives and use them for carving, buschcraft, and camping. I like the ergonomics of this knife and the balance. I believe that BPS is one of the best values out there. The combination of steel,Sheath, and balance is great. I have another BPS knife (HKI SSH) and that is nice as well. I took some photos of the Adventurer, the HKI and a Mora Companion Heavy Duty for comparison. the spine on the BPS knives are flat and sharp for use with a fire steel. One thing I did not like is the sheath loop is connected by a rivet so you are not able to transfer the knife quickly from your belt to lets say a pack or use it as aneck knife. This was an easy fix by replacing the rivet with a snap. I did this to both of my BPS knives. I find it way more useful than having to remove my belt. (just my preference). As the photos show I use my knives and the Adventurer is a good knife. I have used it to baton wood and it holds up well with with normal sized pieces (like 3" round). It also cuts well and makes good shavings. It is close to the Mora but I think the Mora is a bit better. The knife is easy to sharpen and takes a good edge. I always touch up a new blade as I find factory edges are sometimes lacking. The BPS did come razor sharp and it was well ground. Overall I am very pleased with this knife. The large size helps with certain tasks and the balance is great. I would recommend this knife without hesitation. Best value for the money if you want a more traditional looking knife. Happy camping.

Very sharp and great quality
BPS Knives has built a reputation among outdoor enthusiasts and knife collectors, and after spending quality time with one of their knives, I completely understand why. This is a knife that impresses from the moment you unbox it and continues to exceed expectations with regular use. Exceptional Build Quality The craftsmanship on this BPS knife is outstanding. Every aspect of the constructionโfrom the blade steel to the handle materials to the fit and finishโdemonstrates attention to detail and a commitment to producing a superior product. The knife feels substantial and well-balanced in hand, with no wobble, no loose fittings, and no shortcuts in the manufacturing process. This is clearly a knife designed and built by people who understand what serious users need and expect from their cutting tools. Razor Sharp Out of the Box When I say this knife is extremely sharp, I'm not exaggerating. The factory edge on this blade is genuinely impressiveโsharp enough to shave hair right out of the package. Many knives claim to come sharp, but this one actually delivers on that promise. The blade cuts through rope, wood, food prep tasks, and general outdoor cutting chores with minimal effort. That initial sharpness is a clear indicator of the quality steel and proper heat treatment that went into this blade. Outstanding Edge Retention What truly sets this knife apart is how well it holds that sharp edge over time. I've used this knife extensively for various tasks, and the blade remains impressively sharp even after significant use. While all knives eventually need sharpening, this one requires it far less frequently than many others I've owned. The steel quality is clearly excellent, and the blade geometry is optimized for both cutting performance and edge longevity. When you invest in a good knife, edge retention is one of the most important performance factors, and this BPS knife delivers admirably. The Fire Starter: Room for Improvement If I'm being completely honest, the one disappointment with this package is the included fire starter. While it's a nice gesture to include one with the knife, the fire starter itself feels like an afterthoughtโcheaply made and not up to the same quality standards as the knife. It works for basic fire-starting tasks, but it lacks the durability and reliability you'd want from a true survival tool. The rod seems small, the striker feels flimsy, and overall it doesn't inspire the same confidence as the knife itself. That said, this is a relatively minor issue. Most serious outdoor enthusiasts already have their own preferred fire-starting equipment, and the knife is really what you're buying here. A subpar fire starter doesn't diminish the excellence of the blade itself. BPS would do well to either upgrade the fire starter to match the knife's quality or simply skip it and let the knife stand on its own merits. Overall Assessment Despite the underwhelming fire starter, this is an excellent knife that I'm genuinely happy to own and use. The blade quality, sharpness, edge retention, and overall construction are all top-notch. BPS Knives clearly knows how to make a superior cutting tool, and this knife represents outstanding value for anyone looking for a reliable, high-performance blade for outdoor activities, everyday carry, or general use. If you're in the market for a quality knife and BPS is on your radar, don't hesitate. Just consider investing in a better fire starter separately if that's something you need. The knife itself absolutely delivers on performance and quality, making it a purchase you won't regret.

Very nice bushcraft knife for people on a budget.
This is a really nice full tang knife at a very reasonable price. I paid $40 dollars after taxes. The leather sheath alone is worth that. I've had other knives three times this price have leather sheaths that aren't this nice. I also like the fact that it's made in the Ukraine, and not made in China. My only small gripe with it is that the handle isn't quite as wide as I would prefer. But it's totally usable still. I just have to grip it a little harder to get enough purchase. The back of the blade has an extremely sharp ninety degree spine, that's excellent for striking a fero rod. All the metal on the handle is sanded down and smooth to the touch. It also came sharp enough to shave with. So all in all I am very happy with this purchase. And would recommend it to anyone looking for a good bushcraft knife. Especially if you are on a budget. ๐

Beautiful knife, insane value
BPS knows how to get your attention. Was looking for a leather sheath for my Mora Companion when I stumbled on this and just had to have it. The full package - wood handles, leather sheath, ferro rod - just screams old timey outdoorsy bushcrafty. I, and Iโm sure a lot of people who wind up purchasing it, had stars in my eyes just looking at the pictures, so I did some research on YouTube and Blade forums hoping they would give me a reason to punch the Buy Now, and sure enough, BPS is indeed a respected brand and this is their most popular knife, and Ukrainian to boot. The sheath is a beauty, smooth, thick, high quality leather. I see sheaths almost identical to this one going for $60-70 on Etsy, but here itโs thrown in almost like a freebie. The blade itself is impressive as well. Broad and thick with a full tang, scandi grind and sharp 90 degree spine, I see no reason why you wouldnโt choose this over the ever popular Mora if you were going into the woods and wanted to carry just one blade. The Mora Companion or Garberg would probably be better for finer tasks, but the Adventurer seems like it would be a more capable all around blade with a construction that looks like a compromise between a bushcraft knife and a Bowie style that could better handle chopping, batoning, or fending off a Deliverance style attack of hillbillies. I read some reviews that complained of the exposed tang being slightly proud of the wood scales making for an uncomfortable grip, but they seem to have solved that issue. Mine is perfectly flush. My main complaint would be that mine did not come very sharp. It couldnโt pop hair and was even struggling to cut paper, but I had a grand old time sharpening and stropping this thing within an inch of its life, now I could circumcise a flea with it. I put a lazy manโs forced patina on it by soaking it in room temp white vinegar for 5 hours, but it didnโt come out as dark as I would have liked. I then tried a criss cross pattern using yellow mustard. It came alright I think, but because Iโm an OCD flip flop artist whoโs never satisfied, I decided I didnโt like it and wanted it back in its original condition. I used Motherโs Mag & Aluminum Polish and polished the daylights out of it. If you look at the picture you can still see faint remnants of the cross cross pattern, so itโs not exactly in its original condition, but it is now brilliantly mirror polished. I may try again with boiled vinegar and a different mustard pattern. All things considered, this is one of the highest value purchases Iโve ever made, and by buying it you even get the satisfaction of knowing that youโre helping a beleaguered people in some small way. Get the whole collection. They all look great.

Awesome Survival & Field Knife
Update: I polished the scandi-grind to remove the forced patina I had added from there and burned in the outline "แแแ แแจแพแ" (DEFIANT in the Latin alphabet) on one of the handle scales which I will later carve channels in the middle of and inlay with silver. That is to say I am really liking this knife a lot and making it my own. This is my new favorite field knife to actually use and have on me for camping, wilderness hiking, hunting, and that sort of thing. That might not sound like much but I have many, several times more expensive knives that are great, but they're so pretty I hesitate using them. This knife isn't designed as a show piece nor a collector's item. It's a high quality utility knife, straightforward, effective, and simple, sort of like the perfect cross between a Mora and a Green River. There's a very compelling, classic and yet somewhat unique utilitarian design to this knife. The balance is exactly where it should be, right at the top finger groove. The sheath it comes with is of the highest quality, and in most cases better, regardless of price that I have seen come with any production knife. How great the sheath is really can't be overstated. I have large palms and fists but medium length fingers and the knife handle is just the right size for me. Any smaller and it would be a bit too small, but it isn't. Those with extra large hands or long fingers might find it to be on the small side. The wooden scales had a little play but I tightened them up. The bolts are hex 2.5 metric. The closest imperial bit I have in size was a bit loose, so I do recommend using the metric bit, if you can. The knife I received did not come "razor" sharp, but serviceable, but did come with more of a polish on the edge of the scandi-grind. I fairly easily sharpened it further putting a very narrow convex edge on the edge of the edge, roughly one-third of a millimeter across, using one of those V shaped scrapers a little, but primarily a leather strop. Other than the sticky touch of your fingerprints, use a glint of light on the edge to see it, if at least one of your eyes are good. I put a "patina" (oxidization layer) on the knife, blotching on dabs of mustard with a q-tip and letting it dry, to tone down the brightness of the steel, and it took nicely. Afterword I washed, dried, and then coated the whole knife in a grease mixture I made of food grade mineral oil and melted beeswax which forms a paste at room temperature and works great for wood, leather, and metals. I'll probably eventually file off that extra bit of weird chin metal at the top of the finger groove and use the indent below the blade's edge to slowly shape the edge into having a subtle belly paunch. Overall, I highly, highly recommend this knife. It is an absolute steal in cost effectiveness for functionality and practical quality. Thanks, and God bless all peoples and persons in their struggles against oppression and subjugation.

The last bushcraft you will ever need to buy
This is the last bushcraft knife you will ever need to buy. It is everything a solid bushcraft knife need to be. Full tang, thick carbon steel easy to sharpen and keeps its cutting edge. Square back edge so you can use it to start a fire with the accompanying ferrocerium rod. It comes in a very nice leather holder that holds it very well. There is no way the knife will fell off by accident. It is very strong and will last you for many life times. It is also very affordable and you get a great value for the price. It is a great gift idea for the budding young outdoors kids and even for the seasoned ones. It is as good or better than other bushcraft knives that sell for up to 10 times the prices of this unit.
