Hammerfall - Legacy of Kings - CD Review: Dreamland will be ours! - This is my first HammerFall CD and if they have more albums that are this good, then I want more! Legacy of Kings is the 2nd album by the Swedish Power Metal Crew we know as HammerFall and I think that they might become another band in my collection with multiple CD's lining the shelf space along with Journey, Stratovarius, Asia, and Rush. HammerFall isn't my first power metal band, but is my 1st power metal band that actually sings about medieval stuff and doesn't have a keyboardist. And it has a very nice album cover! I love that knight sitting on the throne! Music of the Square Case: The music in this album is your basic power metal like Kamelot or Stratovarius without keyboards and all the songs are all about medieval things like knights, courage, valor, and stuff. 1. Heeding the Call- Nice start to album; A powerful drum part followed by a nice power metal guitar riff and a cool chorus: Heeding the Call, one and for all, Never surrender for glory we fall...Nice chorus! 2. Legacy of Kings- Another awesome song! I like this one but it's not as cool sounding as the 1st song. Still good, tho 3. Let the Hammer Fall- A slower metal song. It has grown on me and I think it is pretty cool! I like the guitar riff a lot! 4. Dreamland- Probably tied with Heeding the Call as my favorite track on the album. I like the tone of the song! It has an overall happier tone and I think this is what the best Power Metal sounds like! 5. Remember Yesterday- A very nice ballad. Joacim Cans has a very powerful voice! I like this song a lot! 6. At the End of the Rainbow- A slower song but it has a nice beat to it and it sounds majestic. I like the low voices that this band uses especially in this song and Heeding the Call. 7. Back to Back- This sounds like filler to me. I don't really care for this one. 8. Stronger Than All- Another nice and melodic one similar to Dreamland but it does have lower vocals too. It's a good song! 9. Warriors of Faith- I think that this one is somewhat ok. It might grow on me but for now it's just ok. 10. The Fallen One- A beautiful song that's mainly piano and Joacim Cans but has the rest of the band in a few places. Very good ending to this album! Verdict: If you don't know HammerFall, this is a good place to start. It's not their debut, but it's also not one of their mature albums. It's just their 2nd one but what a good album it is!!! If you are into Stratovarius, Kamelot, Sonata Arctica, Nightwish, or Epica, I strongly recommend this album! It's extremely good and you will enjoy it! You will unite with the Knights and have lots of epic adventures with this noble music from the square case! Review: Stronger Than Most CDs - What a great collection of metal songs. I literally never heard of Hammerfall until recently. In America, the music companies do not promote very good music like this. However, I came across them on Youtube. This album is an easy five stars. I enjoy every song on the CD. My favorites are At the End of the Rainbow, Stronger Than All, and Let the Hammer Fall. But the entire CD is excellent.

Power Metal at it's finest!
What Hammerfall does is write good tunes. They are solid in every respect. Vocally they rock, instrumentally they rock, production wise they rock. It just always sounds good and that's what you want if you're going to be spending your hard earned dollars on cd's. This is yet again another masterpiece. Theirs really not much to say about it, after all it's sounds like it's supposed to and that means it's as good or better than anything else they've ever done. If you like these guys or power metal in general?, pick it up as you wont be disappointed!

Black vinyl
The photos in this publication showed the red vinyl but yet which I came was black. However I am not upset with the procedure but if you give me a little detail delude colors. But just because I agree thanks.

In 1998, one year after their debut album Glory To The Brave, the Swedish Power Metal band Hammerfall released their second full-length studio album, entitled Legacy Of Kings. It was once again produced by Fredrik Nordström, only this time with guitarist Oscar Dronjak co-producing. Continuing the fine formula that they established on their first outing; Legacy Of Kings is another tight, tasteful, immaculate collection of catchy, memorable and melodic Heavy Metal in the tradition of Priest, Maiden, Saxon, Accept and the like, with hints of Keeper-era Helloween in the guitar sound every so often. It isn’t neoclassical sounding like Stratovarius, or symphonic like Rhapsody (Of Fire), or indeed thrashy like Blind Guardian, but rather it concentrates more on the core spirit of early Heavy Metal and recreates the impression that listeners remember of that material (even if nothing here actually sounds all that directly like deep cuts from Sad Wings Of Destiny or Restless & Wild). Expect soaring melodic vocals, frequent dual guitar lines and melodic guitar solos, solid galloping drums and heroic lyrics about subjects like triumph and victory. This album also added a tiny touch more mid-tempo numbers and power-ballads than Glory To The Brave, (which were hinted at on the previous record). Slow, heavy tracks like “End Of The Rainbow” and more emotional balladry like “Remember Yesterday” and the piano-led “The Fallen One” provide a contrast to the speedy stylings of things like “Heading The Call,” “Warriors Of Faith,” the Gamma Ray-esque “Dreamland” or the Pretty Maids cover “Back To Back.” The balance is good and this record doesn’t rely too heavily on one or the other. Enough about the direction though, what about the quality? Well; Legacy Of Kings is a very strong and entertaining. As long as you don’t generally hate this style of music anyway, this should prove a very worthy addition to anyone’s collection. The production job is crystal clear, the musicianship is great, the album is succinct and free from any filler, the mixture of light and shade stops it getting too repetitive and best of all, its just good fun! Overall; this is an excellent album and if you have an inkling that you might like this band, I urge you to go ahead and pick yourself up a copy of it.
