Is this kinetic sand or different from kinetic sand?

Not the same - it is a sticky mess! Do not ruin your regular kinetic sand with this stuff. We had to throw both out. Sticks terribly to clothes and is hard to wash off. Maybe we got a bad batch but we had to throw it and all our other sand away when we mixed them.

if you order 2 of them, can they be used on 2 different remotes at same time? i ordered 2 cars each with a remote but one remote controls both.

Check the frequency that they work off of. They have to be different for the controllers to work properly. I learned that the hard way too. 😁

Is this too young/small for a 5 year old who loves monster trucks?

Not on our life... My son has almost 100 of this type Monster Jam material. I started him when he was four and he has loved it every since.

Durable truck and come with storage for sand!

This was purchased for my 4yr olds birthday and he loves it. Kinectic sand is easy to keep tidy and the ramp doubles up as a storage box which is fab! As per other reviews the truck is metal and plastic, but 3 months on has been durable and not broken yet!
