This AFMAT PS91 Electric Pencil Sharpener is hands down the best sharpener I’ve ever owned! I bought it mainly for my art classes, and now both I and my students are obsessed with it. Kids friendly and perfect size to put in a corner of my class .. i keep it near sink area .. It sharpens color pencils, graphite, and regular pencils so beautifully — fast, smooth, and without breaking the tips. I’ve tried it with Prismacolor, Caran d’Ache, and Amazon Basics color pencils — all sharpened perfectly to a fine, even point without the usual chipping. Even sketching pencils like H, 3H, and HB come out neatly pointed and ready to draw. It works equally well for all our Indian brands like Doms, Camel, Apsara, etc. The sharpness is consistent every single time. It’s quick, quiet, and powerful, saving me so much time during classes — no more students crowding around manual sharpeners or broken leads everywhere. The kids absolutely love using it — they even compete to see whose pencil comes out the sharpest! The auto-stop feature works perfectly, so there’s no risk of over-sharpening. It’s sturdy, doesn’t move around while in use, and looks sleek on the table. Honestly, it’s so good that I even joked about using it for my eyeliner pencil — if only it had a “makeup mode”! 😂 Overall, this sharpener is a total must-buy for artists, teachers, and anyone who values precision and speed. Let me tell you how this pencil sharpener has saved my sanity in a 6th grade classroom. In the beginning of the school year, I had a pencil sharpener that broke the children’s pencil tips more often than not, so I finally decided to bite the bullet and get a new one. The green color is so cute and matches with my greenery theme so well. Anyway, I demonstrated to the students how to use it and it has made mornings so much more efficient. It sharpens super quick AND it automatically stops when the pencil is sharpened. No guessing, no sharpening your pencil to the point that it breaks. I highly recommend it. Very easy to use for all ages and worth the money!

Fast, convenient, and smart — I bought the AFMAT PS91 to handle colored pencils and regular pencils up to 12 mm. In daily use, it’s impressed me in many ways — but it also has a few quirks worth knowing. What I like: • Speed & efficiency: It really does sharpen fast. According to AFMAT, a new pencil can be sharpened in about 5 seconds, and a used pencil in about 3 seconds.  • Auto-stop / no over-sharpening: Once the pencil tip reaches a good sharpness, the machine stops, which helps prevent breakage or wasted pencil length.  • Dual sharpness settings: You can choose between a sharper point or a more blunt finish (useful for kids or more fragile leads).  • Wide size compatibility: It supports pencils in the 6–12 mm diameter range, so it works for standard No. 2 pencils, colored pencils, and many art or jumbo pencils.  • Decent shavings capacity / ease of cleaning: The top lid and shavings bin are large enough that you don’t have to empty it constantly, and it’s relatively simple to remove and dump the bits.  • Stable design: Many users report the base has suction pads (or non-slip feet) which help keep it stable during use. 

I have sharpened multiple pencils and they all came out with wood perfectly even and nice point. Very sturdy, but it is PINK, lol. For the quality it doesn’t matter to me. Easy to empty and powerful. The best I’ve ever bought. Highly recommend!

This sharpener worked great right out of the box. I wanted a sharpener that was corded for stability and power and no dependence on batteries. Very happy with the power and speed. Pencils were sharpened quickly and well in all test cases. The only criticism is that the bluntness/sharpness adjustment does not make much difference. It is a wheel, so seems like it should be a continuous range, but the wheel does not move much between the two extremes, so don't expect much difference in the two extremes. Otherwise, great sharpener so far.

This sharpener is heavy duty!! It is plug in which I forgot to check before buying but it’s not a big deal. Bigger than expected. It works very well. I love that you can set it to how sharp you want it to go. Also I love that it stops sharpening when it gets sharp so that you don’t go too far. It would be great for a classroom. With 4 kids at home it’s perfect for all our pencil and colored pencil too.

This is a fantastic pencil sharpener! I am a long-term sub and I saw it in an another teacher’s classroom and she raved about it. When I started my current LT sub job, the pencil sharpener was atrocious. It was so loud and just DIDN’T work. I bought this one, had it delivered overnight. It’s been so fun to see the kids’ delight when they use it. It’s quick and sharpens most pencils perfectly. I would recommend it to anyone!

Ótimo produto. É elétrico, precisa ficar na tomada para funcionar. Vem com adaptador e carregador. Ótimo, pois você controla a ponta do lápis e também o tempo que fica apontado. Serve para lápis comuns mais finos e lápis jumbo mais grossos. Gostei bastante.

Me encantó. Deja la punta de los lapices de grafito superfina en su máximo nivel. He usado lapices Staedler Mars Lumograph, Staedler Mars Lumograph Black (que son un nivel intermedio entre grafito y carboncillo) y Caran D'ache graphwood ,y deja muy fina la punta en todos estos. Posdata: No he usado Conté a Paris Pierre Noire u otros carboncillos porque para estos prefiero usar una navaja y lija para sacarles punta.

Update: after using for a few days this sharpener has lived up to my expectations, so I've upgraded my original 4* rating to 5*. With some reviews specifically stating that the plug is not UK & others making no mention of what is a rather important element of the product, I asked the question on here and received two very helpful replies confirming that it does not have a UK plug and an adaptor is required. So I went ahead and purchased together with a US to UK adaptor. This is a fabulous sharpener - set to the sharpest point I put it through its paces with various brands of coloured pencils (Holbein, Polychromos, Derwent Artists, Luminance, Derwent Drawing). I expected the Drawing to maybe cause an issue being the thickest core and very soft, but it was no problem; lovely sharp point. Auto stop prevents over sharpening and it is very easy to empty. So I'm delighted with my purchase but would suggest to Amazon that it would be more useful to the customer if the 'Buy It With' section recommends an adaptor rather than rechargeable eraser refills!!

Excellent performance

This sharpener works really well! No pencil leads have become stuck in the mechanism so far and it is very fast and sharpens smoothly to a perfect point. I would definitely recommend this sharpener to anyone.
