Impressed with the sound, exceeded my expectations

December 2025 update:As I promised, here is my update having now used this radio out in the hills whilst wild camping:-1. The reception was excellent. Far better than I'm the house when I first tried it.2. Sound quality is good. It's not tiring to listen to like really tinny, cheap transistor radios of old were. It's got some detectable bass as well. Not thumping of course, buts it's registering where bass would be in a track and projecting it.3. It's so light and compact to carry that taking it with me for the night was a no brainer. It's robust feeling as well for what is essentially and all plastic item. (Apart from the aerial of course).I like this radio that much that I'm going to have to upgrade my review from four to five stars. It's the quality Vs the ridiculously low price.Any questions you have about the radio I'm happy to answer if I can.Cheers.Early impressions are that the sound quality is very good.Clear, not too tinny a sound.Finding stations is a little fiddly as the adjustment wheel hardly needs any movement for some FM stations. AM signal is good as well.I find it's a little hit and miss indoors with the reception and a slight movement in the radio position can lose signal.I've yet to try it when out camping in the hills which is the main reason I got it. I like that I can plug in some wired earbuds as well. I do like to use wired earbuds for listening when seated or kicked back relaxing.It's just about the right size. Any larger and it wouldn't really be suitable for packing light.I'm impressed so far and for a tenner it's unbelievable really. I bought one I their DAB radios for the kitchen as well and that's also pretty good. I've had Grunding, Sony and Roberts portable radios costing much more and this is pretty good in comparison. (Not quite as good, but not a millions miles away). Where the likes of other more well known brands win out is in the quality of reception and ease of tuning. They pip this radio. But again for a tenner it can't be beaten so far. I can recommend it but I will come back with a real world update review over the next few months as I put it through it's paces.

Great little radio, especially given its small size. Good feature that when exactly on a station a green light indicates this. Sound is pretty good too. All together a great purchase.

What a great little radio! It’s so easy to use, the tuning is simple and there is a very responsive volume button. I am pleasantly surprised at how good the sound quality is, even without having to put the aerial up. I just leave it on my kitchen window ledge and switch it on in the morning and sing along to some tunes. It’s so light and portable that I can carry it from room to room with ease as I do the housework. It makes doing horrid jobs easier and brightens my day without having to worry about using mobile battery. The quality is basic but that’s all I wanted and it does the job more than adequately, it’s good value for money too. I also really like the red colour, nice and bright. Would definitely recommend.

Hi all,My name is Big Tony, I am from the North East England, Tyne and wear.For many years when out doors, whether its fixing my vehicles, chilling catching a tan, fishing with the lads, camping in the sticks, nighy sky watching. I have always had issues with bringing a bit music along with me, av used various different radios over the years, some old hungry battery eating monsters, yeah them ones that take huge batteries that makes you in shock at a till/kiosk. I also come across lots of radios from my job, most are moddern dbs, or newer dbs plus and i always take one out with me. However the old sw radios work best in rural areas. Most of the time dbs will not even work. The best radio we used was a Simpsons homer 3D bedside alarm/Radio, it came around with us for almost a year untill a big wave creeped up the side of a pier and homer fell into the rough sea, not to be seen ever again. Rip homer.Av been camping alot this year, and one night, i really could of done with a bit music. When back on my return, i read about why sw transistor radios were performing much better, and then decided to buy one. I would prefer something small for hiking weight reasons and came across x2 personal radios that i could not make my mind up, so bought both. I am amazed by both, the other is a roborts 925,but cost around 18 pounds, so was a little more compared to the Pronus. However the Pronus has a more or a base sound from the speaker, more louder. Actually a very good radio. And the main reason i bought it for, yeap its works out in the sticks, no problems. Only takes x2 cheap pencil batteries and has performed 40 hours plus on the same batteries, excellent pocket radio, affordable, makes you smile. Bigger than i thought if would be,(check sizes, i didnt) but its a good sound and reception.Would buy again.

As someone who doesn't like to be too reliant on my phone, this radio is an essential piece of equipment for watchung sport or staying connected to the news when outdoors. It has a simple design, which I'm sure will increase its durability in the long run. It rarely struggles to find FM stations and provides a clear signal. The extendable antenna is nice to have but rarely required. The volume is as loud as required and beyond, and the option to plug in ear buds offers a unique use case for watching live sports without distributing other spectators. I can definitely recommend this product.Pros:- Reliable and durable radio- Easy to use with just one switch and two dials- Never struggles to find FM stations- Loud and can use earbudsCons:- If Inhad to say something,,sometimes the indicator light that tells you when you are tuned to a station can be slightly inaccurate, so I don't rely on it.

Je m’attendais à un truc moins qualitatif que ça .Petite radio sympa reçu aujourd’hui et essayer.Ça marche vraiment bien, le son est bon et l’antenne capte parfaitement.Petit plus :La dragonne fournit avec , le clip pour la mettre à la ceinture ou sur un sac pendant une marche et la prise jack pour les écouteurs.Elle est légère et très simple à utiliser.Bref je recommande fortement.

Partiamo dalle cose che non mi piacciono,frequenze stampate sulla radio e non protette da un "vetrino",se uno ne fa un uso frequente,rischiano di scomparire,consiglio,magari una pellicola antigraffio per telefoni,ritagliata ad hoc,a vista pare un monoblocco in plastica,avrei preferito un piccolo cordolo sempre in plastica per dare un aspetto più serio alla radio,ma plastica di buonissima qualita',sensazione in mano è comumque di tenere tra le mani un prodotto di qualità!Passiamo ai pregi,altoparlante, che suona limpido ma non arretrato,ogni suono sta al suo posto,ma non mi spingo oltre utilizzandola generamelmente,con ottimi auricolari house of marley o addirittura con una cuffia akg k52...Comoda la clip per metterla nella cinta dei pantaloni...ma io di solito la posiziono in una tasca (con chiusura del pile,chiusa per non farla cadere),ricezione sicura nonostante la sintonia sia di tipo analogica,agancia bene Radio Subasio,all'inizio della scala megahertz,ne posseggo altre dove devo alzare tutta l'antenna senno' la perde o peggio,cosa che odio il "prendo non prendo"...in conclusione per il prezzo e per chi vuole o preferisce l'analogico,alle app da telefonino....promossa per me...suona ottimamentamente...se chiudiamo un occhio per "le pecche veniali" estetiche...

Radio un poco más grande que otros parecido a un walkman, en cuanto a la calidad de la sintonización y del sonido estamos satisfechos con ambas, teniendo en cuenta que vivo en Madrid no se puede valorar la capacidad de sintonizar cadenas en pueblos o sitios más complicados pero parece que no tendría problemas en ese sentido vista la calidad del sonido que capta en la ciudad.
