Serious packaging issues - don't waste your time
The device looks like it may be well made, but I can't get one to arrive at my door in working condition.Twice the gauge has shown up with its glass face shattered into multiple pieces - pretty much identical damage. It's packaged in a thin paperboard carton (not even corrugated cardboard) with a half inch of soft polyurethane foam on top and bottom inside the carton. That carton is enclosed in a larger Amazon cardboard box with a few sealed air bags to keep it from sliding around, but not enough to actually protect it from all sides. This might work if it were delivered room service style on a silver platter with a dome on top, but not if it's coming UPS! Has anyone actually looked through the doorway of their sorting facility while you wait for a pickup? Any package can expect to spend a significant amount of time airborne as it goes from van to conveyor to truck.Until the manufacturer beefs up their packaging to protect their product, you're just wasting your time...

Excellent accurate barometer
Just what I needed to calibrate my hobby grade digital absolute pressure sensors. Manufacturing quality is excellent and the device is nice looking too. Has a little heft to it, seems sturdy.

No particular concerns. I use this to celebrate other barometers and it suits my purpose fully. The assurance that the instrument I am using has been compared, and is not just assembled and sold is comforting, and, at least for this user, worth the extra cost. The instrument arrived safely and came with the calibration report.

Adjusting to compensate for altitude voids warranty?
This barometer is nicely designed and constructed. I rated it two stars for the following reasons. 1) It came with no instructions as to how to adjust for the altitude of my weather station. 2) The company website had no manual available to download. 3) I had to made several calls to the company to finally determine how to adjust the barometer for the altitude (hint, it is hidden behind the serial number label). 4) I was informed that if I removed the serial number label to gain access to the altitude adjustment screw I would void the warranty. Now I ask, what good is a barometer that you cannot adjust to the altitude of your weather station? OK, so I did adjust the barometer to the altitude of my weather station but I guess I voided the warranty in the process. Does this make sense? Adjusting to the altitude of your weather station is a absolute necessity. So why does doing that void the warranty?

Was it actually certified before shipment?
The so-called "traceable" ISO-certified unit arrived reading incorrectly (25mm Hg too low) and with a ISO-certificate about to expire!! I wouldn't recommend it unless the certifiers at "Control Company" can vouch for it.
