Solved my pup's digestive ordeals!
SquarePet Hydrolyzed Protein Skin and Digestive Support formula quite possibly saved my 4 year old Parson Russell's life. Although he never had any skin issues, I had been struggling for well over a year to determine what was causing the frequent "raspberry jelly" stool that occurred practically every third morning, until it finally got to the point that he lost his appetite for breakfast. I tried feeding several high-dollar "quality" foods, pro-biotics, digestive enzymes, and psyllium seed husks; to include a full blood panel and fecal exam, all with negative results. Fortunately, I discovered "hydrolyzed" foods, but the one's I found all required a veterinarian's prescription in order to purchase. That's when I discovered "SquarePet"; and thankfully, no prescription required. Under the circumstances, I began feeding immediately with no transition period, since my dog was already in distress from his previous food. The very next day, as if by a miracle, his long bout with gastric disorders suddenly ceased and he's been back to normal for nearly a month now. I can't thank enough, the folks who make this product, and I hope they will continue to make this wonderful food available for years to come. I am convinced that it saved my best friend's life, and I highly recommend it to anyone who's experiencing similar health issues with their pup. Hopefully they won't have to go as long as I did to discover the cure.

This isn't working for food allergies
My dog has severe food allergies ..trying to find a non - prescription hydrolyzed novel protein food for her. This is pork. My dog seems to like the food and eats every bite. I serve it to her dry...I don't add canned food to it. The nuggets are slightly larger than a dime..it doesn't come in small dog size kibbles ...My dog is 8 lb. Jack - Russell terrier / Chihuahua mix and she is able to eat the larger kibbles ..She has been exclusively on this food for 15 days now...she is on a strict elimination diet .. unfortunately she continues with the reddened skin....oily hair ...foul smelling body odor...yeasty ears...constant paw licking and chewing self...constant " wet dog " shaking..does have satisfaction guaranteed on bag ...just didn't try to follow up on that...

Good hydrolyzed dog food 4.4 stars
I tried a few prescription hydrolyzed dog foods before trying this one. I have a Labrador. My last Labrador lived in z/d due to her chronic ear infections. My new Lab seems to have stomach issues and doesn’t tolerate non-hydrolyzed diets. Compared to z/d (pea and chicken), royal canin (soy based), and Purina EL (soy based)… I give this food 4.4 stars because it’s the ONLY dog food where the FIRST INGREDIENT is a hydrolyzed MEAT. I felt awful giving my dog soy based food - dogs need meat in my opinion. For a nonprescription dog food - THIS IS AMAZING! She doesn’t have stomach issues on this one. I wish it would make her excrement a bit more firm but she holds it well for her afternoon walk and never goes in her crate overnight like she does on non-hydrolyzed diets. Clean up with this one is less fun than with the soy based foods (those constipate her more). Perhaps my dog doesn’t tolerate meat well? If you don’t have a vet RX and you need a hydrolyzed dog food - definitely give this one a try! It’s priced well and I’d rather give a small company a try and hope they have better quality control than the large dog companies which realize all too late (a year later) that they have unsafe doses of d3 in dog food. HERE IS AN IDEA FOR THIS DOG FOOD COMPANY: CAN YOU PLEASE MAKE A DOG FOOD WITHOUT ANY D3? I will buy people grade FDA approved D3 and dose my dog myself. My poor dog has so many issues because larger dog food companies have overdosed her with D3. I’m happy to do it myself because I would have more control and you would have less risk for recall for that issue. I’m so tired of voluntary and non voluntary recalls of dog food from Royal Canin and Purina. My dog was really sick from D3 overdose from one of the major brands. They notified me a YEAR later that her food had been too high in D3… refunded my money but she has issues now. She couldn’t hold her bladder and drank buckets and buckets of water every day. She may have kidney damage from the D3 overdose - need to get her blood work done. Anyway, love your company mission statement. Please put good QC in place - I’m trusting you with my very expensive and beloved animal. Thank you for making hydrolyzed meat the number 1 ingredient in this formula!

Vet Recommended
I have a little 15 year old Dachshund with stomach issues. A couple of years ago, my vet recommended SquarePet because of it hydrolyzed protein. We have been using it steadily since then with all three of my dogs (a dachshund A Maltese, and a beagle). My dog's stomach is way better now, but you can also see the improvement in all my dogs' coats and general health. Sometimes, we buy our food from the local pet store because my husband likes to by local, but it is really convenient that they sell SquarePet on Amazon. It's a great product.

Great for IBD dogs
My golden doodle has IBD AND DYSBYIOSIS. Allergic to almost everything, especially chicken. This hydrolyzed pork kibble does not give him diarrhea or mushy stools. I feed him this soaked in beef bone broth (Aldi’s brand only ! ). He also eats a special cooked diet that includes pork, cabbage, blueberries, beef liver, and Evanger’s canned hunk of beef, and their canned loaf beef. It has been three long years but we’ve finally figured this out. Also, raw goat milk is his go to probiotic. And the best part of square pet nutrition hydrolyzed pork that you don’t kneed a prescription for it. Highly recommend.

Possible allerigic ingredients!Horrible product, not hydrolyzed, not reputable
This product is not quality controlled, it gave her a rash, made her lose her fur, caused her to throw up, claims it's hydrolyzed there is no testing to prove the product is hydrolyzed and your actually getting what you pay for. This product is dangerous and needs to be removed from distribution. Hydrolyzed means that the protein source was blasted with water to make the particles so small that they are supposed to be undetectable as food allergens. The comical part is that this also contains dandelion greens and sunflower oil. Sunflower, safflower, dandelion and milk thistle are all part of a specific plant family that is related to ragweed. So if your dog has pollen or food allergies related to one of these then the rest could potentially trigger a new allergy since their all related and fromghe same family.

Gave my dog watery stool
My rescue dog has significant allergies. She has lost a significant amount of weight trying to find a suitable dog food. My Vet said it was likely the protein she had issue digesting & would likely need a hydrolyzed dog food. Well, I have tried many kibble style food including prescription Royal Canine (made my dog get a yeast smell, ear infections & then one day she quit eating it) yes it was soy based. Tried Purina Proplan with salmon which was for "sensitive stomach" which she also quit eating for 3 days. Then went to a Blue Buffalo turkey limited ingredient formula for "sensitive stomach", she threw up & had diarrhea. Then tried a limited ingredient beef & rice formula which also made her vomit. Tried a small bag of SquarePet brand hydrolyzed pork which she gobbled up so I purchased this bag which I could only buy online (not in local stores) but before I could even open the bag she started with watery diarrhea. I stopped the food & put her back on rice & beef broth. I am now cooking human grade bison & rice which she loves & her poop has become normal. Will see what happens. I really do not understand what is in all these dog foods causing her issues, but I do not believe it to be the "protein" source. I think it is one of the other vitamins/supplements they add to the food. Dogs are carnivores. Will try to introduce a bison kibble once she puts on weight to test my theory. This is what I like about this dog food - no prescription needed, ingenious Velcro closure is the best, convenient to purchase from Amazon, she liked the flavor, her system couldn't tolerate it, not their fault. The negatives: No easy way to figure out what their "satisfaction guaranteed" means as I would like a refund since this product is not returnable, gave my dog diarrhea. I have read a lot of sites on the internet for dog food issues. That tells me there is an issue with the dog food ingredients & no Vet really knows what is causing all the stomach issues/rashes/ear infections. I am in human healthcare not animal healthcare. What I do know, in humans the gut is very important in our immune response & I will bet the dog is no different. When you jack around with the gut flora with all the additives in pet food it can cause problems for sensitive dogs. That said my other dog is getting rashes from all the leftover foods my problem girl couldn't eat. Will be working on his food next...Good luck to all those other pet parents out there with these issues. I do feel for all of us. Not pleasant watching your pet struggle with food. Pet food manufacturers & Vets need to do a better job with research on food & nutrition supplement use in our animals. Let's all stop anthropomorphizing our pets, they are not humans & do not need the same things we need.

Doesn’t really help my bulldog skin sensitivity
She is ok with the food and has no problem with it but just not helping her much

Single protein but somehow still causes allergy
Not sure why, as pork is not a protein that causes allergy in my dog. But he gets the itches so maybe there’s some other product in it that makes him itchy. Would prefer to invest in other kibbles.
