Makes really tasty coffee
Ease of use. Makes great coffee. Espresso feature requires real muscle to lock the espresso filter in place. Be sure to run an unloaded espresso holder through the machine from time to time, and also run the frothing feature once a week or so. Descaling is really easy, so long as you use the ON LINE instructions. The pamphlet that comes with the machine is INCORRECT. To start the descaling process, press the BOLD button and not the COFFEE button. Drove me nuts trying to follow the pamphlet. Other than that glitch, unless you wish to spend 2300 bucks for a high end machine, the DeLonghi is the answer. I use it every morning. Don't go cheap on the bean grinder you'll need to buy. I got the OXO Brew Conical Burr Coffee Grinder , Silver, and it is robust.

Defective from the beginning! Plz READ
Yes…Read the 1 star reviews before buying this coffee machine ppl! I did but the machine looked so pretty and had multiple functions, so I ignored the reviews and clear warnings! So I bought this coffee machine July 2021 for my husband’s anniversary. Yayyy, but NO! From the beginning we had issues: Malfunction #1- It started when we went to make an espresso and water just kept pouring out, machine never stopped on its own. We had to manually shut it off. Malfunction #2- Went to use the froth for capuchino. Never steamed but started to smell like something was on fire. This awful burnt smell kept rising stronger and stronger - like an electrical fire was about to happen. So fear made us stop using that feature-period! Ok, so we decided no espressos or cappuccinos Malfunction #3- About 1 year in, the machine periodically would turn itself on automatically by making this loud motorized noise. Before purchasing, I had read reviews about this same noise and electrical issue , but ignored it! Malfunction #5 - The clock display would started to countdown and after every 20 min or so, then this loud motorized noise would start. (Sounded like a grinding noise) The only way to stop the noice was to unplug the machine from the wall outlet. We were afraid to leave home with our coffee maker plugged in for fear it might burn the house down:( By this time, we called the company, they took my info, however nothing was done, no refund, no replacement, nothing! Malfunction #5- Finally, after plugging in the coffee pot section in the outlet each morning and brewing a pot of coffee, this feature finally died too. It just stopped dripping. Placed the coffee in the filter, poured the water in the chamber and nothing happened. So we finally threw the coffee machine in the garbage! So this coffee machine may be good for <6months! Ask yourself is $250.00 worth it! The reason we held on to this coffee machine for so long is because we did NOT want to waste our money. We tried to get as much as we could out of this purchase. Should of wrote this review sooner. Extremely disappointing!

Surprisingly got a great one - So far...
I am so far, very happy to say I am very happy to have this new machine! 1. Received it Feb 27th, 2023. Earlier than expected delivery date. Started using the morning of Feb 28th. 2. It was not a repackaged used machine that slipped through the cracks like it appeared to have in so many of the recent comments!!!!! Thinking wherever those people are that got a repackaged used machine, must be serviced by an Amazon facility that has employees that don't care!!! To them, if they read this, always let Amazon know!!! 3. I drink MEDAGLIA D'ORO, which is Espresso Italian Roast ground coffee. For that, cannot use the screen filter that comes with the machine. Need to use the #4 filters which fit perfectly. 4. Have not tried the Espresso side yet, but performing the initial setup per the instructions, everything worked beautifully and easily. There were no leaks. 5. I place the machine on two layers of paper towels (4 sheets, folded in half) which fit the footprint of the machine almost perfectly. In other words, the footprint on the machine fits inside 2 sheets of Bounty paper towels. USING THE COFFFEE SIDE: One of the first things I noticed is the design of the Carafe. Either it needs an improved design, or the current design is to prevent any coffee grind sludge, that made it down from the drip, from pouring into your coffee cup/mug/tumbler. There is about a teaspoon or less, that cannot be poured out. I use the Bold enabled button and seems to work well for boosting the flavor of the coffee. The touch buttons are a nice touch... no brute force needed for turning any knobs or pressing actual buttons... fewer moving parts means fewer mechanical failures. I set the clock on the machine on Thursday, March 2nd, and today, March 4th, I noticed it was a minute behind already. Not a real bad thing, as it is easier to set the clock forward a few minutes due to it being slightly slow, than resetting the time back because it runs to fast. As for the filter and the reservoir for the coffee side, I wish the reservoir was removable like it is for the espresso side. Making it easier to clean than. And as for the filter, I'll need to try and keep track of when that needs to be changed. Meaning have to set some reminder someplace "Check coffee reservoir filter to replace", gee... as if there aren't enough other reminders in life to list and keep track of!!! LOL I have not changed the default time for the warmer to turn off, as I am turning off the machine after the coffee is done dripping. OH... something I didn't see mentioned is... The machine has a BEEP (not loud) when done with the dripping. That is a nice touch if you are still in proximity to the machine. I like that as a reminder!!! That's it for now... will update later if and when I remember to.

Great machine
Love the machine but the milk frother has been a problem for me. Not working the way it should. I waited awhile because I figured there was a learning curve, but I am still having a problem. The reason for 4 stars.

Horrible Customer Service - Review them on BBB before buying anything from them-UPDATE
BAD TO WORSE - After weeks of calling Delonghi customer service, sitting on hold, and getting lies and the run-around, they finally agreed to refund our purchase. Weeks later we received our refund for $150 LESS than we paid. Delonghi's explanation: We used $150 worth of Amazon gift cards that my wife received from her work. Wouldn't you think that makes the $150 our money? Not according to Delonghi. Despite the fact that Delonghi received payment for the full price of the machine, they contend that the $150 in Amazon gift cards is "not real money" and they don't need to refund it. Do yourselves a favor and NEVER buy anything from Delonghi. Their customer service organization is not incompetent, instead it seems they are highly trained in the art of deception and delay. The worst manufacturer that I have ever worked with. PERIOD We ordered Model COM532M from Delonghi (retails for $319.95). This unit broke a couple months after we started using it. No big deal, things break somethimes. So we contacted Delonghi to have a replacement sent. Getting an answer from their customer service department was very painful to start with. After extensive time on the phone, Delonghi finally sent a replacement unit, model BCO430 (retails for $219.95). We asked Delonghi why they sent a sub-par replacement model to which they replied, "the one you bought was out of stock in our warehouse". THEY SENT A CHEAPER MODEL BECAUSE THEY DIDN'T HAVE THE ONE I ORDERED?!?!?! After more rounds of phone calls, we finally got Delonghi to send another replacement which they assured would be equivalent of the original unit ordered. This time Delonghi shipped us model COM530M (retails for $299.95), yet another sub-par model to what we orignally purchased. So, we called back Delonghi again and they requested that we join a video call with them so we could prove that they, in-fact, had sent us the wrong model again. You read that correctly, DELONGHI MADE US PROVE TO THEM THAT THEY HAD SCREWED UP AGAIN. We now have 3 of their coffee makers in our house waiting for return labels. My wife is currently on the phone yet again with Delonghi customer service getting a run around from another agent while trying to get a refund. At this point they told her that the best they can do is send us a refund in 4-6 weeks. I will never buy another product from Delonghi and I strongly suggest that none of you buy anything from them. But, please don't just take my word for it. Go to the BBB website. Read other reviews on Delonghi from other sources. You will see a consistent pattern of poor product quality and poor customer service. I hope my painful experience can help some others avoid the same pain.

Happy so far
I bought this in order to take up less counter space than the two separate machines it replaces. I'm happy with this machine so far. (only two weeks) It makes a good pot of coffee and is user friendly for programming an auto start. The jury is still out on the espresso function, as it seems to be pretty slow on the drip, as compared with my previous De'Longhi espresso machine. I'm going to try a less fine grind to see if that makes any difference.

Lasted about two years...
Who is this product for: If you are into making old fashioned coffee, but maybe want to try your hand at brewing espresso as well. I'm talking BEGINNER espresso only. The reason is due to the fact that over time, the parts that distribute water in this system will begin to wear over time - and for me, it was about two years. For $250 or so, you can't really complain, it makes subpar espresso, has very limited controllable features, forces you to understand how manual dosage works, BUT still manages to make coffee relatively well. This is good to trial out with making espresso, but understanding that you will need a new machine in two years. What to expect: You will not make world class espresso out of this machine. The machine feels cheap - it is cheap. The boiler doesn't seem to regulate temperature super well. The water tank is quite small, the drip tray is astonishingly small, especially when this machine begins to leak. When it begins to leak, you can tell when drinking your espresso that the water/coffee ratio is off. You will find out that you will have to empty the drip tray after every puck you pull through. Since this machine has little heft to it, that it slides around really easily when inserting/removing the portafilter, which does not have any weight to it comparatively to normal portafilters. The tamper/doser is plastic - don't really need to expand upon that any further. The steam wand is not awful, but it's range is pretty miserable, it's nice to have multiple settings for the type of steamed milk. Super easy controls - descaling alerts, operating both sides is a very easy process. As soon as you really start liking to make your own espresso though, you will immediately want a better machine though. I was considering donating this to Goodwill after I got a newer machine, but I felt bad turning in a machine that couldn't operate properly, so it was sold for parts. You'll find that many of these machines are on eBay listed in non-working order FOR A REASON. If you are considering this machine: Stop for a second, and just maybe do a little research. YouTube is a great platform with a lot of great coffee channels to explore - many of which will guide you to affordable entry-level machines that might last a little longer. Coffee Kev is one that has done his homework on nearly every machine out there available in the states and beyond.

Easy morning coffee
It's taking us a while to learn everything about the machine, but so far we love it! My husband is home alone while I have chemo so gets more play time. I expect that all that practice will produce a great morning coffee on the deck this spring.😍

Me gustó!
Me gustó mucho! Es fácil de usar, solo que la plancha donde reposa la jarra se quema rápido.

Don't do it
Don't do it. Positive reviews are from new owners- just give it some time...loved the styling and worked well at first. Then the espresso side started being not hot enough, the electronics started to go (the time would suddenly start speeding ahead, and sometimes the machine would turn itself on creating a safety issue- had to leave it unplugged). Oh- and the leaking. The design is poor- pressure from espresso side discharges into bottom of tray and will leak out onto your counter- have to leave a rag under the machine and change daily. Finally, just gave up and will throw it to the curb...

Excelente cafetera.
