This is the Best Desk I have ever Owned
This has got to be one of the best investments that I have made in a desk in years. I've had 4 desks in the last 14 years and all of them were made from particle board, with the pins and lock system used to hold them together. These desks were ridiculously heavy and, despite buying brand name office furniture, they all ended up in the dumpster for various reasons. All of the particle board predecessors also cost much more than the Claremont from Z-Line designs. The quality of this desk from Z-Line is simply outstanding. Made of metal, glass, and wood, the Claremount is a very solid piece of furniture that is sturdy, good looking, functional, and an excellent value. I really liked the fact that there is a built in "cable management" system at the back of the desk that allows you to drop the cords behind the desk and fish them through two, predetermined, holes; one for the keyboard shelf and one for the power cables. I paid less than $94 for this desk and it looks and feels like it cost a significant amount more than what I paid. Amazon Prime delivered it safe and sound very quickly. I only have a few of small issues with the desk: First, I'd like to see the manufacturer include a set of carpet spikes along with the regular feet so that when it is placed on a carpeted floor the desk will feel a little less wobbly on the carpet. Secondly, the instructions can be a little confusing. Since, from step 1 to step 2 the wood pieces were reversed, we had to disassemble the desk at a later point through the assembly in order to get everything to line up correctly. So, just follow the instructions very carefully, while paying close attention to the placement of the pieces in the pictures and the numbers of the corresponding parts, and you should be fine. Lastly, the labels / stickers attached to the glass top of the desk were not easy to remove. There was a tremendous amount of glue residue stuck to the glass after trying to carefully peel off the decals. Maybe, in the future, the manufacturer can look into using some static decals that warn of the weight limit for the top of the desk instead. If you have someone who can help you, along with an extra set of allen wrenches, you will be done with the assembly in no time at all. I decided not to use the shelf that came with the unit, but I did install the side rails for the shelf because they provide additional support for the glass top of the desk. Other than that, I can honestly say that this is the best desk I have ever owned and it is a fitting home for my iMac. I would highly recommend Z-Line Designs to anyone looking for new, sturdy, stylish, and high quality office furniture at an exceptional price point.

Stability, stability, stability - not to mention beauty and functionality
During assembly DO NOT tighten (even finger tight) any of the bolts and scews. Wait until all is done. The only exceptions are the two support bars for the keyboard tray because the bolts which fasten these to the rest of the desk are inaccessible once the glass top is attached. The components seem to have been intentionally designed to not fit exactly which is a good thing when done right. Some of the parts resist fitting to each other, and so when you finally force them together by tightening the bolts they join under some tension. This is part of the secret to stability. This Z-Line table is amazingly stable. It's rock solid with not a hint of wobble, wiggle, shimmy or shake. Add to that it's beauty - cool design, wood accents, and nice thick tinted (and I think tempered) glass top - and you have a fine desk at a good price. My only complaint is that the assembly instructions could be better. There are a few pieces like the wood legs that appear to be identical but in fact have some key difference. As shown in the attached photo, there are two chrome plated support bars that runs from bolt sockets on the INSIDE of these legs up to the underside of the glass top. So, the 'left' and 'right' legs must each be on the correct side. I caught this, but the schematic drawing in the instructions made it look (to me) like these support bars were attached to the outside of the legs. So in "Step 2", I installed the wood legs exactly backwards. This caused no problems at all until I got to Step 5 where the chrome bars are installed and then it flat didn't work. A better drawing (or better still, a photo) in the instructions could prevent such confusion. This and some other points of confusion in the instructions added to assembly time which for me came to about 3 hours total. However, I still rate this desk with 5 stars because the end result is just so darn good!

Amazing value and great quality! Very sturdy
Wow! I can't believe this is the quality it is for a price less than $150! It's very sturdy and was easy to put together. It looks very nice and it's got lots of leg room below! The Glass top wasn't nearly as dark as I thought it was but now looking at the photo it seems about right. The only real gripe so far is that the width of the tray for the keyboard and mouse isn't wide enough for my setup. I have a full size keyboard+ num pad. It fits but it's tight. I have my mouse up top and the keyboard on the tray. But dang! great value. Keep in mind i've had this for only a day so I can't same about durability.

Sturdy and well designed
I bought this desk mainly for its pleasing design, after I realized that I would not find anything that I like at a certain scandinavian furniture store. Delivery was quick and assembly took me about an hour, it is easy when you are familiar with assembling furniture from said scandinavian furniture store. Some thought went into designing the packaging by the makers. Each individual part is labeled, the orientations are marked and even the screws are separated and labeled, so you can easily identify the needed screws by the letter of the compartment and they even added a bag for additional screws just in case. The parts are sturdy, well made and yet they are light. Assembled it's rock solid and looks great, the glass plate has a warning sticker not to put too heavy stuff on it and yeah, I would not try to stand on it, but in my case, it holds one flatscreen monitor, a PS3, an large arcade stick and my laptop, with a mechanical keyboard in the keyboard rack. The keyboard rack moves smoothly, I read on some of the reviews that there were some issues, but it works very well for me, the vertical space is somewhat limited though, which requires me to use the keyboard lying flat without using the feet. Another thing is that the desk is smaller than I thought, but that's just because I did not really measure it out before ordering and most people won't use a game console on their desk anyways. With the devices I described above, it is fully packed, no space to fit much else. Other than that, this is a really beautifully designed, sturdy desk that's worth the 150 USD I paid for it.

I am extremely happy with this computer desk
I am extremely happy with this computer desk, and most definitely recommend it for the following reasons: -The build quality if very solid and sturdy. -The coffee-colored front legs and smoked glass look great. -The desk has a spacious surface to it, but a relatively small overall footprint; it is great for a smaller space. -The cord management panel running down the rear really does a nice job concealing those ugly cords. -IT WAS EASY AND FAST TO PUT TOGETHER! The instructions were extremely well-written, and it wasn't a chore (as some garbage is that you need to assemble yourself) to put together. Again, I highly recommend this desk if you a sturdy and stylish desk that has a small footprint. Great product, especially for the price!

So worth the money
Let me start off by saying I have used this desk for almost a month now and I am really happy with it. Here are the few cons: -The directions are vague and unclear. For a few parts you literally have to stare at the pictures for the tiniest details to see which way something should be screwed on. Also, it is written where at the end of say step 3 it states not to tighten the screws fully during step 1-3, but by that point unless you read ahead you have already done so! -The slide out keyboard area is kind of small and somewhat rigid. The pros: -It looks really good. The picture does not do it justice at all, I mean it looks really sleek the glass is smoky dark and altogether it just makes my whole room come together nicely. -It has a nice wire hiding system in the back to keep everything looking simple. -It is very space effecient for your legs, I am 5'11 220lbs and I sit comfortably. -It is a perfect surface area, currently I have a 23 inch monitor, a compact wireless printer, and a 5x7 picture frame sitting on it and it does not look cluttered at all. -It is honestly way better value then other desks in this price range. I shopped around at Ikea and a few other places where you can get lower priced furniture and I did not like much,(I risked it with this and I am so happy I did). -I spend a lot of time at my desk for both work and gaming sometimes for 6 or 7 hours straight and I am really satisfied. Basically, the desk is just hard to put together and could be a bit better designed for the keyboard slide out. However, it is so amazing in all other aspects that I still had to give it 5 stars. The annoying directions can be overcome with time and patience, but once it is all put together you wont be dissapointed.

Awesome desk, awesome price!
I love this desk, or compares in style to a lot of fat more expensive desks, but is very affordable. The desk came packaged well and with easy to follow instructions, assembly was fast (about 45 minutes) and feels sturdy. My only complaint, which is minor, is the stickers that were on the glass tabletop were a pain to completely remove. MY RATING SYSTEM: I try to stick with the same criteria and system when reviewing products and here is how it breaks downโฆ FIVE STARS: Great Product, would feel completely confident in recommending to others and consider the product to be a great overall value with no obvious faults. FOUR STARS: Still a very good product, I consider it to be overall a good satisfying purchase and can still recommend it in good faith but there is one small aspect about the product keeping it from a perfect score. THREE STARS: A good product but not a great one, it operates and appears as advertised but more than one aspect of the item is undesirable. This is an item I would use but probably consider an alternative option. TWO STARS: Product is definitely lacking in quality and or the way it operates. Would not recommend it to others and would seek and alternative elsewhere. It maybe just barely does what it is advertised to do but is probably not worth the money and there are many negative factors about it. ONE STAR: No two ways about it, this is a bad product and I would not recommend anybody purchase it.

Keyboard tray is weak and failed after a few years
The desk looks amazing and was easy enough to assemble. but the keyboard tray and the frame it mounts to are incredibly weak and flimsy, and after a just 2 year of use it has completely failed on me. The rest of the desk is really well built and sturdy, and as mentioned it looks great, which is such a shame. i love the desk except for the fatally flawed keyboard tray

Easy & Solid
Excellent desk. Installation instructions were EASY. I did it by myself, in under 90 minutes. All the parts are labeled; even the left-side and right-side parts have different numbers, so there is no guess-work. Follow the instructions and pictures to the letter, and no mistakes are possible. End-result is an extremely sturdy and nice-looking desk. Well done!

Perfect size
Perfect size for my office. Great styling - almost minimalist and fits my furniture well. Feels sturdy. Assembly was straight forward though would suggest you have an assistant to lift the glass!! Very pleased so far.

A little bit warped
The diagrams in the instructions could have been a little more clear, as it wasn't immediately obvious which direction some of the pieces should be assembled in. There's also a portion at the first where you assemble the legs..... then when you connect it to the cross bar the one it shows in all the diagrams on the left, turns out to be the right leg. The slider for the left side of the keyboard tray was completely stuck - and after calling support, they just suggested "Well... reef on it as hard as you can, and if it doesn't come loose or you break it trying - we'll send you a new part within the next 2 weeks" Got it all together fine in the long run just to find out that some of the metal bars must have been a little bent so it doesn't sit 100% flat. Thankfully, the weight of the glass on the top and other desk accessories eventually evened it out. Definitely not the experience I expected for an $200 desk.... but it does look nice
