This is not some gentle, citronella-scented suggestion. This is a 32-ounce bottle of pure, unadulterated reckoning. At its heart is the magic word, the silver bullet: Permethrin. Until this year (2024), organic/natural insecticides have proven effective against fleas/ticks, ants and mosquitoes when sprayed in the front yard. This year, it’s been extra buggy with the mild winter, extra humid, and now carpenter ants have moved in which makes my current spray ineffective. I contacted my local pest control company who recommended using insecticides/sprays that contained Permethrin. Adams concentrate contains ‘Permethrin’ and best of all it has my favorite type of sprayer nozzle in the 32 oz size bottle! I love the hose end sprayer style that’s quick and so easy to use! There’s no measuring and mixing, just check the weather for no rain in the forecast, put on a mask, shake, hook up your garden hose, turn sprayer dial to on and spray! It is super easy to apply and one bottle treats my front yard & its perimeter (about 5,000 square feet). Things I've learned... My front yard is home to pollinators (butterfly garden), so areas with flowering plants that usually have or attract bees, lady bugs, hummingbirds or butterflies and areas with chrysalis need to be avoided (this stuff will kill them). You also need to spray systematically so you won’t be left with gaps in your coverage. If you own dogs and cats like I do, keep them out of the treated area for a full 24 hrs until everything is good & dry (set the alarm on your phone). If you’re lucky enough to have a small yard, you should have spray left over so you can give your yard touch ups later (I need a second bottle). The odor wasn’t too bad to deal with when spraying, and not as overpowering as expected. It’s gonna be a mild-to-medium chemical smell, but not a heavy duty commercial toxic spray/Raid eye-watering smell. It also will be gone in about a minute since the odor seems to come from the actual spraying and not so much from the surface sprayed. So far, I am happy with the coverage and performance of Adams Plus Yard Spray. My red ant hills are mostly gone, the dog and I have not encountered any fleas, ticks or even mosquitoes out front. The dragonflies & pollinators are out in full force buzzing around like normal. As for carpenter ants? -I haven’t encountered any while working in the front yard. Ditto for beetles, roaches and wolf & huntsman spiders. Hopefully, they’ve all moved into the backyard of which I have no issue. 5 stars!

TIP: Always read the label and avoid spraying near areas with bees or other beneficial insects to protect your garden’s ecosystem. Also - wear long pants and gloves when applying.

Great product my fleas and other critters are gone (,sorry) fleas where very out of control.

I've been having trouble with my plants being eaten. I never can find the culprit that's doing it so I assumed it was a worm and it was nice to find a spray that would take care of worms and other bugs. Since I've sprayed it about a week and a half ago, I've noticed that my plants are growing without so many holes in them. I trimmed away the parts that had holes in them and the new growth looks fantastic. Product is very easy to spread as I have a very good water pressure and I was able to get it over and around all around the house. I'll use it again just after I replant some areas. And it's nice that I can use this on my garden and not worry

I sprayed the yard and it only work for a few days, I have used other natural ones that helped with mosquitoes about 3 weeks .

I have been familiar with Adams products for pets and indoor treatments for probably 35 years. Pyrethrins are effective and safer than most flea treatments. I mostly use safe natural products (no systemic poisons) but in the past few weeks the flea population has exploded, likely due to rain and humidity and increased visits from the local wildlife in my area. I finally decided to treat the lawn area where my dog frequents to potty, since every time she goes out she’s attacked. I ordered the Adams feeling it should be effective enough and relatively safe. I was very concerned after reading the ENTIRE label and precautions. I have many many pollinators and hummingbirds that share my yard. I finally opted to take down all the hummingbird feeders. I mowed the grass fairly short in the area. Then I erected a temporary fence to divide the area in half. I waited until nearly dark to treat half the area, leaving the other for a safe place for my dog to use in the meantime. The pollinators had settled for the night. I was very careful to only wet the grass area and not my many flowerbeds and wildflowers. The second night I will repeat the process to treat the other half of the area. The reason I give it only 3 stars is due to the lack of precautions on the ad, and knowing human nature, most people won’t bother to read the label carefully and follow extreme safety protocols. Please people! Take care! I don’t even know yet how effective the treatment will be on the flea population, but the dangers of killing pollinators, fish and poisoning groundwater need to be met with responsibility. Be careful!! Update: useless. Did not kill ants, spiders, and certainly not fleas. Waste of money. Downgraded to one star because that’s as low as you can go. Going back to diatomaceous earth.

I had great hopes for this as I have been unable to find a suitable product in the UK for dealing with the deer ticks invading our garden. However, the product is so full of solids it will not spray. Even after pouring through a fine sieve I find it still will not spray consistently to the point where I gave up. My review therefore is based on the effectiveness of the sprayer. I may well try and apply through a pressure sprayer of my own but I do not feel I should have to do this given the price of the product. I will try and apply and see how effective it is and then review further but I won't be able to give a 5 star rating due to the problems with the sprayer.
