Good kit

Was able to replace all four cables on my bike. Two shifter and two brake cables. I had to buy a second set because one set does not have enough outer cable for all four.

NOTICE: This kit comes with two different lengths of cable for the front and the rear brake. Makes sense, but it is not obvious when they come wound together. I didn’t notice and made the mistake of cutting the long one to length for the shorter front brake system. Now I have to purchase a whole new kit to get the replacement I need 😢 GET FAMILIAR WITH EACH OF THE PIECES BEFORE YOU MAKE ANY CUTS. In all, this is a FANTASTIC kit that comes with absolutely everything to replace the cables and guides.

Quality is OK, but the brake cables are very short. I had to really cut-down the housing so the rear cable was long enough. Would not buy again.

My bike used 5mm for the shifter so the 4mm was wasted but that's my bad. Cutting. HARD to cut UNLESS ... I used a dremel cutoff wheel. Don't push it or the heat will melt the plastic parts. Then you will probably want to open the inner core with a tiny drill bit. I made the ends perfect by gently using a bench grinder. Since I was able to use the existing inner wire, I only needed the outer sheath but to do both shifters I was two metal ferrules short so I had to order way many more than I needed. Plan your purchase more carefully than I did. Didn't try it yet but the set seems to be very good quality.

These cables are just what I needed to restore a Specialized mountain bike that I was given. Literally, everything removable has needed to be replaced on it. The brake cables are double-sided so you can choose either Mountain Bike or road bike fitting. The cables easily cut with pliers. The outer cable housings are good quality. You can just about cut the brake cable housings with pliers, but I've had to order new cable cutters for the gear ones. There are plenty of end pieces and other bits to put on the cables. I'm really pleased that I ordered these ones and can definitely recommend them.
