Like everyone else, Kate Hudson is constantly on the move, with a life full of work, family, responsibilities and relationships. In Pretty Happy , Kate shows how she honors her relationship with herself through exercise, making the right choices about what she eats, and constantly going back to the drawing board and starting fresh, instead of holding herself to unrealistic standards of perfection and giving up when she falls short. In almost every interview she gives, Kate is asked the same questions: What do you eat? How do you stay so fit? What workout do you do? What’s your secret? Well, the secret is that the sound bites the media loves so much don’t tell the story, and the steps you need to take to have a healthy, vibrant and happy life can’t be captured in a short interview. The key to living well, and healthy, is to plug into what your body needs, understanding that one size does not fit all, all the time, and being truly honest with yourself about your goals and desires. Focusing on the Four Pillars of Health to enhance well-being, Pretty Happy shows the benefits of: Cultivating an Intuitive Relationship With Your Body Eating Well Awakening Your Body through movement The Miracle of Mindfullness Full of questionnaires to help you assess your Body Type and your stress levels, advice about cleanses and keeping your diet and body balanced, and plenty of interactive Drawing Board exercises, Pretty Happy is a beautiful, insightful, and personal look at health from the inside out, an authentic plan for an authentic life from a woman who truly lives what she speaks. Review: True to the Core Book everyone should read - This book is so helpful in so many ways, Kate Hudson gives a real, raw approach to getting to a level of truly loving yourself and your body. She may be a huge Hollywood star, but she cuts no corners when it comes to real life, I highly recommend reading this book for yourself, you will not be sorry.

Inspirational!
Although there isn't anything life changing or new in the book, I still found it inspirational and worth reading. This was a good reminder to practice self love daily and inspired me to make better nutritional choices. I like that Kate encourages everyone to make healthy choices based on their own bodies and not celeb fad diets. There are quizzes and journaling techniques in the book to help you dig deep into your current habits. Great read for anyone needing inspiration for positivity and healthy choices.

Pretty Happy I Bought This Book!
I'm 1/2 way through this book in one sitting, but I already love it. I was hesitant to buy it because I wondered if her age would not be relatable to me and where I am in my life and I'm finding it is. I'm 56 and still searching for happy, healthy ways to love my body. That never ends. What I have found refreshing is that it is also a workbook with lots of opportunities to think and write about thoughts, feelings and beliefs. Knowing which dasha I am doesn't really matter as much to me as learning to listen to my body. Paying attention to the feedback it is giving me and honoring my body for all that it does for me. In some ways it sounds so simple, but in other ways it isn't and it's all a matter of my mindset. I am looking forward to continuing the book, going back and re-reading and I'm highlighting as I go. I know that learning to be patient with myself is a lifetime job!

Good Start, Lame Ending
The first chapters were of value. I enjoyed journaling through questions and classifying my body type and there was some new material concerning healthy eating. I liked the philosophies on exercising for enjoyment. The chapters on meditation, stress, and the conclusion were useless. The quiz to determine how stressed you are was terribly graded. The editor should revisit this part in particular as it's only possible to score in the "extremely stressed" category. Overall the book had an empowering and informative start and then turned into new age fluff very suddenly. I tore out the pages I valued and recycled the rest.

This book is a great guide for getting to know and listen to your ...
This book is a great guide for getting to know and listen to your body. It isn't filled with specific diet/exercise plans to lose weight, but acts as a guide to understand how to live healthy and happy within your body. Some advice I found particularly helpful include the journaling tips throughout the book. It encouraged me to record my food/activity and then how I felt after each. It's not about only eating healthy greens or working out three hours a day - but about learning to listen to your body to learn and stick to what makes it feel best. There are also some great weight loss tips - grocery lists, meal suggestions, etc. I like that the foods suggested in the book are things I've actually heard of that I don't need to hunt down in some obscure organic market (I don't enjoy cooking and rarely recognize any ingredients beyond the basics). Overall, a great guide to body balance and finding confidence/comfort - then letting feeling good help you look good as well.

Cultivate Lifelong Intuitive Relationship with Body, Mind, & Soul
Girl has learned her stuff on nutrition and exercise. Yes, those of us past our early twenties already know the majority of this info, but breezy refreshers help us too. What sold me on this book is the 20% of forward thinking content that I didn't know much about and found to be really valuable. Some of these include: embracing your situation as always in flux, listening to body feedback through journaling, being able to change perspective on hard experiences through "reframe" cognitive behavior techniques, laughing at the folly of "perfectionism" and the way we obsessively project it onto successful figures, learning any new thing is a process through experimentation, consulting with experts but ultimately keeping ourselves in the driver's seat of decision making, consciously choosing to release shame from past mistakes, embracing baby steps forms of meditation, etc. Respect to Hudson for the great read-- got even more from it than I anticipated!

Fabulous book !!!!!!!
This book is amazing. I just read this book in a time in my life that has help me find myself again. Kate Hudson.... thank you... I can't put everything I have gained from this book into words. The amazing self confidence has returned and feelings in my spirit, soul and life has helped me realized I had been putting many of my fun, joys, excitement in the back of cupboard... I know I can release my inner thoughts, I can meditate to help me breath and not judge myself or allow myself to be judged. That eating healthy is this book is a good thing not a diet. Cleansing = a fresh start. I love the meal plans, grocery list and references provided in this book I bought this book for my daughter and my son's girlfriend for Christmas this year. They noticed changes in me, back to my happy self again. Thank you !!!! I loved it .

Not very interesting
I didn't find this book very informative or new on ideas. If you are new to Ayurveda then the basic concepts have been explained very well but I didn't find much take back from this book.
