Interesting songs that will challenge beginners
These are fun songs to play, but they're a little difficult for beginning pianists. I took lessons as a kid, but I much prefer playing the piano as an adult. I am getting pretty good at 21 Guns and Falling Slowly, and there are a few other songs that I can tackle, but many of these pieces are above my skill level right now. The key signatures are often (to me) a little complicated. Overall, I'm satisfied with the quality of this book, but I think I need to work harder to really appreciate it.

Love this Book
Some VERY nice arrangements of popular songs... I'm just an average piano player, but.. I've already found several in this book that are VERY playable... I'm Yours, Falling Slowly, 21 Guns, Complicated, New Soul. I have a hard time picking sheet music... it always seems music is either 1) TOO HARD for me to play, or 2) SO SIMPLE, it doesn't sound right. I prefer the music to be CORRECT, and let me just figure out which ones I can play... As long as I get 2-3 from a book, I'm usually happy... I already have 5-6 from this book.. and, see a couple more I can probably learn.really nice compilation.

Overall fun
Again some overlaps, but more pertinent popular songs than I expected

for my daughter
My kid is a piano laying fool!!! She can pound those keys like an old honkeytonk blues player, so if I am going to listen to her get after it on the piano, I might as well hear some of the jamming tunes I grew up with. The collection of tunes inside this book of piano music has most of my favorites, so I like it and she enjoys playing them for her old dad so everyone wins!!!

Fun and Easy Playing Music
This book of sheet music is very compact. Some songs recognizable right away and a few others not so recognizable. Easy to read the music, can adapt to keyboards, which I like. Good value for the money, Amazon.com is really the best way to shop!

Piano part is accompaniment only
I'm just teaching myself to play the piano, so please forgive me if I use the wrong language to describe what I don't like here. Every song has a single-note vocal staff, and a double staff piano accompaniment part. But the piano part does not necessarily include the melody, so it sounds ridiculous to play by itself. I tried playing the bass clef with my left hand and the vocal staff with my right, but now we're talking serious amateur hour, about as complex as Mary Had a Little Lamb. This book is designed for a singer singing with a piano (or guitar) background accompaniment--if you can't sing and play at the same time, look for something else. I suppose my singing skills would get me on American Idol, but I would be the guy they made fun of. (That's why the piano is my instrument of choice!) So this book was a complete waste of money for me.I wish there was a way publishers would categorize music arrangements, to let you know if you could just play the piano solo part, and have it sound like the song. I feel I was misled here, as it even says on the front cover, "Play Your Favorite Songs!" Caveat Emptor!

Good arrangements
The arrangements in this book are very good, and include many of the background notes that some sheet music arrangements don't add. Not all of the songs have the melody line in the piano part, but it can be added by using the vocal line if necessary.

Great fake book!
This is a great fake book for the intermediate piano player. The arrangements are easy to play and most sound reasonably close to a full piano reduction. A few of the songs have large key signatures, which make for more difficulty, but are still very good.
