Does the box it arrives in have another box inside or does it open up to contents. asking as it's a gift

Was NOT sent in another box, the box arrived completely unsealed and the contents were not secured inside the box. When I opened the box, all all the contents - mostly glass - spilled out on top of each other. Was suppose to be a Christmas gift, but will not take any chances that glass pieces might now be inside the woodchip vials. Am not able to return and pissed just spent all this money on something packaged so poorly.

What is meant by “neutral alcohol”? Do you buy a whiskey and infuse it with flavor?

I want to buy this gift but hav no idea what alcohol to buy with it. If it’s a whisky kit why would I buy vodka? Looking for a specific brand to buy

Can you use rum instead of whiskey ?

I imagine you can. We used a grain vodka and it is now aging. I would recommend a clear rum that is not spiced. With the kit you can use the wood chips to age it or “spice” it.

Are there instructions that come with the kit?

Yes it but it is very basic - only 5 steps. Basically put woodchips you want and wait 2-4 weeks, then filter out. Add botanicals and wait 24 hours. Then filter them out and refrigerate for 12 hours. Then drink!

We have bought a few of these in various alcohols now as gifts. We have received great feedback from family and friends who have done it and I have personally tasted the results of a few of these and they are very good.
