I am sure you can mount anywhere you like but it does stick out about 6 inches

Do you have the installation guide? You shipped mine with no instructions or anything.

I used mine as a replacement so no instructions were required. If it is a new installation you would have to contact the RV manufacturer on the placements of the standoffs and the proper screws for anchoring ladder to RV

Does this only mount top and bottom or is there a bracket somewhere in the center?
